I think that with the slow tempo and the dragged out performance Lekkas is trying too much to highlight the drama in these lyrics. This song is meant to be sung in an understated way that makes us briefly, and nostalgically, ponder it's meaning. Lekkas overdoes this, in my honest opinion. Watch Mitsias sing it. He is not technically perfect in his execution but his tempo and tone are far more in tune with the meaning of the song.
