  • I had this surgery done.i got the stitches out yesterday after 2 weeks.I am still in cast and will be for the next few weeks. No way can ya walk next after this surgery.

  • i could not walk when i had operation this is superb

  • bs im 2 days out of surgery and no way i could do that

  • BULLSHITT!!! change the title to " 1 MONTH AFTER ACL SURGERY AT SANDERS CLINIC"

  • @Juliesauer1122 Agreed!

  • Hey!!! I'm a nurse. this appears to be fake

  • This is very real. My 14 year old daughter just had her ACL repaired by Dr. Sanders on Wednesday August 3, 2011. Today is August 6, 2011 and she had done everything I have seen in the videos from the Sanders Clinic. She had a complete ACL reconstruction. She is already bending her knees to 145 degrees. Dr. Sanders has called everyday to the Therapist, Allen, to check on her progress. She is only three days out and started doing wall squats today. We are from NC and flew in just for Dr Sanders.

  • I had ACL reconstruction with a bone-patellar tendon-bone allograft last week and I could walk the same day after my surgery. I didn't do a lot of it mind you, just to the bathroom when necessary, but no crutches were necessary. I had full extension and 50 degrees of flexion. I did think it was a honeymoon period and that the anesthetic had not worn off, but I've been able to walk fine since, and I'm a week post-op now. I know recover is a lot more difficult though without an allograft.

  • I tore my acl out completely from softball, just had new acl put in not using any tissue from myself and had repaired ligaments and I can tell you I couldn't lift my leg for almost A good week! I just had it done 10 days ago and I am still in pain and my knee is still swollen and it still hurts to be on it for a long time! This guy is a freakin hulk if he had acl and he can do all this the next day! And I have one of the best orthopedics in Oklahoma!!!!!

  • This can't be I had my left ACL replaced by hamstring by Dr. W Froese Winnipeg, MB Canada a leader in ACL reconstruction. And already on day 3 I am still finding it hard to walk without crutches however I can still manage using very little force on the crutches so I imagine tomorrow or the day after I will get rid of them. This video looks fake because there is no swelling and who in their right mind want to even risk it to walk on your own 24 hours after.

  • OP, why do collegiate and professional sports athletes not use contralateral ACL reconstruction procedures? Incredible amounts of money are invested in these athletes, and time is money. It doesn't make sense.

And this counters everything I've ever learned or seen regarding time for the b2b graft plugs to assimilate to the surrounding bone bores.

    Please enlighten me.

    Thanks!

  • agen this is fake a year on my knee is nearly repaired !! but look at the video from 2.20 how is it possible for your knee to not have any swelling as you can see there is no swelling at all the incision made into your leg would still be huge at that stage your knee would be the size of a balloon take this shit of youtube all this is is basically advertising for people to come to you for acl repair

  • I just had my ACL reco done and I am walking really well after two days. This is absolutly possible. I'm a bit sore and trying to be careful on it but the result was the same as the video.

  • this video cant be from the first day! I just had my acl reconstructed today at Shands+UF (University of Florida-Go Gators) and I cant bend my knee without crying. let alone walk on it and work with it. theres absolutely no way this is only a day after

  • no way is this true. i have gone through 2 ACL reconstructions by an extremely good orthopedic surgeon and still wasnt doing much with my leg after surgery. i couldn't even pick it up let alone walk on it. i was off crutches in 4 days but i was def not doing any of the activity that this guy is doing!

  • now ur other knee iis weaker and ur newly reconstructed knee is not as bad as ur other one

  • I have to apologize for using your video for asking a question that's a little out of the topic, concidering the large amounts of viewers interested with this. I have a torn meniscus from more then an year and a half. I will get surgery after 2 months and I am strongly concerned if anyone who's been in the same situation can tell me how is his knee now. I pray to God to help me get my knee strong as before again, but I am low on hope right now. Please reply. Thank you :)

  • @ELGekp i had a torn meniscus too and had to have surgery i can tell you that it hurt like hell for the first three days but the more you move it the better it'll be i also have a torn acl and have been walking on it for about 4 months getting to do surgery on it in 12 days good luck best wishes to you

  • this is pure shit. when i had mine done the knee was way to swollen and painfull for this shit. if your going to post videos at least make them real. jerk

  • today is my 25th day after the surgery and sure I cannot walk upright yet.

    this is completely B***S***...!!!!!!

  • you can walk after the surgery???

  • How come the graft was taken from the other knee, i'm gettin gready to have surger soon, and they are taking a graft from the same knee.....will this make the recovery more difficult?

  • @prorican21

The reason to take the graft from the opposite knee is because the resultant is far less post operative pain, and resultant ability to get right back out there, first in activities of daily living and back to sports by three months.

  • How come the graft was taken from the other knee? I'm having mine done Monday the 2nd, and they are taking a graft from the same knee? Will this have a worse affect?

  • this is bullshit! pure bullshit!

  • Did he actually perform a surgery? lol. How can he walk around like this without worrying the cuts will split from the operation.

  • ya im getting so pissed watching this how can you post such bullshit on this internet. like ya let me run home after my acl surgery. can anyone else not lift their leg? im 4 days after surgery and my leg feels horrible i lifted it once today and im not trying again for like another week

  • What a load of shit had mine done 2 and a half weeks ago and the swelling that this guy should have would not let his knees bend that much!!

  • There is no way this is one day after acl surgery! you're knee would be way to swollen to bend that far. && they tell you to be on crutches for 10 days after and put bearable [sp?] weight. no way are you walking or bending your knee normal one day after!... this may be one month from your surgery but not the next day lol... good one!

  • Total bullshit. He's either drugged to the point of insanity, or this is fake. I just got my surgery 2 days ago and I cringe just looking at this. I can barely use my crutches, much less put ANY weight on my left leg.

  • @Sharingan920 ... Exactly i had mine a week ago today and i still can barely bend it cause its so swollen.

  • imbossible! i started walking like you 1 month after the surgery...and i was in one of the best knee clinics in switzerland...

  • This is has got to be a hoax... I literally had my ACL reconstruction yesterday (May 5,2010 @ 1:20pm pacific) The general anesthia they used is still there i cant even lift my left past my knee cap.

  • did he have acl torn on both knee?

  • I used the Sanders Clinic to repair my clavicle. On my first visit to his office, I met 2 patients that had undergone knee surgery with Dr. Sanders. Both walked in without crutches. I watched as one performed the rehab exercises and it was just as it is on the video. I may be wrong but the leggings are to prevent blood clotting as I even wore them with my surgery. It is very true and he is worth the travel it takes getting to his office if you live elsewhere. Kudos to his staff as well.

  • No Freakin Way!!!! I was barely putting pressure on the knee 7-10 days after surgery!

  • well to all the dumb ass ppl on here this video is true. I just had surgery on March 1 2010 on my acl an u can walk right after it an there is no pain because u still have the medicine in your body not to feel it duh!!!!!!!!

  • thats crap, i didint even get off the couch to use the bathroom the first day after my surgery and i was on crutches for like 8 days, plus i had a morphine pump stuck in my arm for 3 days, theres no way hes doin that good

  • @bigm4

sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble.

  • there is no way in hell this is one day after surgery...he would be in so much pain still. I had a piece of my patella tendon cut out due to a severe case of jumpers knee and I couldn't walk for almost a week. When I got off crutches after 5 days I still walked with a huge limp...so this video is shit. It's now a month and a half later and I am now just being able to START physical therapy...this is some bull shit right here!

  • @niceparkjob

    We are in Houston, Texas

  • @niceparkjob

sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble.

  • more bullshit,,,, im at day 11 post op, bending to 70-90 degrees using crutches still... this is just a lie, haha t00shortaura

  • @kookskier

sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble.

  • If you believe this video you also believe in Superman and Santa Claus.

  • this looks more like bull shit bc the first day i couldn't even move my leg bc it was really painful

  • I had my ACL done I wasn't able to walk for a week. I find this hard to believe one day.

  • WOW this is fake.... its been 5 days since i had my ACL recon surgury and i cant even bend my knee..shiit i cant even take shiit without breaking a sweat. Try it try takin a shiit while keep your knee straight the whole time.

  • lol, my thoughts exactly))))

  • dude i know your pain, thank good i'm over that know.

  • My surgery was 3 days ago and I wish someone had told me about the challenges of taking a shit before now! Maybe I could have prepared better! I'm still trying to work out a better method!

  • hahahahahah fuck dude i needa have a surgery soon, SOOOO FUCKING SCARED :S

  • @jllard haha you and me both man

  • yeah i know how feel..its the worst feeling when a man can even keep his leg straight while taking a shit..that video is BS

  • @t00shortaura hahahahaah dude that was the worst part of being on crutches and in an immobilizer for 2 weeks

  • @t00shortaura bro i hella remember that.when had to take a shit, it was so fuckin hard keeping my leg straight.then trying to stand up was hard to.then getting my crutches and walking my retarded ass back to bed was hard to. high five to having same pain . lol

  • @t00shortaura i sware i thought i was th only one

  • @t00shortaura lmao your comment made me laugh :D yeah probably is fake, i have my operation in january so i guess i'll know then! but the fact that i'm staying overnight and won't be playing football for at least 10 months after says this is a pile of shit.

  • @jaherrick i have my acl reco done in 12 days and am scared to death. I climb wind turbines for a living so i need to get it done keep your head up

  • this is impossible

  • If that is true, then this is amazing. I wonder, if this is possible why isn't this procedure the standard procedure?

  • It is at many centers, although there is really nothing standard in orthopaedics besides the cast cutter. You can google Dr. Donald Shelbourne the originator of this procedure and find a few thousand hits for articles about it.

    Mark Sanders MD FACS

  • I've already had Patellar Tendon grafts used for ACL reconstructions on both knees. I just had my right ACL done again with a hamstring graft. In hindsight, was there another option out there that I should have considered for a faster recovery?

  • We would have used the opposite quad tendon as a graft. It is way stronger than the hamstring, and would have allowed you to enjoy the same rehab course.

    Mark Sanders MD FACS

  • This is most likely fake. I also don't understand why they would take the PT graft from the opposite knee? This video is misleading -- I just had my 3rd ACL surgery, 4 days out, and I'm still doing basic exercises -- heel slides, leg lifts, quad sets, etc. No way he could walk or have that range of motion 1 day out.

  • I am sorry to have to inform you, but this video is absolutely real and was made of my patient under my direction. We take a graft from the opposite knee so the patient can do the things he is doing early in the rehab. This way he can return to ordinary life in a week and sports in three months.

    Mark Sanders MD FACS

  • @sandersclinic hello Doc relly nice job! I was thinking the same as "derekspl" however, my congratulations!!! really a nice Job. I live in Miami and Dr., Uribe is checking my knee. Im a soccer player. Im from Panama and I have mi first ACL in my left Knee with Dr. Humber Arrue... really awesome.. Once again NICE JOB.. where are you located?

    ikan walk now....

    but not totally properly.......

    this is fake

  • @MrStsm

Its true. My name is on it. Doctors are watched over by pretty tough authorities in my state.

I am sorry that you have had so much trouble.

  • This is utter rubbish. I'm 3 days post op and I'm still in bed just doing basic bendings as i lay down. No wonder they have BOTH his legs covered. I went for a walk and had to use two crutches a brace and physio holding me. Get Real Guys.

  • @Mullac

Its true. My name is on it. Doctors are watched over by pretty tough authorities in my state.

I am sorry that you have had so much trouble.

  • @sandersclinic It's True. Your copy and paste techniques are amazing, your attempt to lie at the general public is pathetic.

  • No f### way...

Today Im after 2nd week from reconstruction ACL and still I walk with spheres.

  • as i commented on the other video there is no way this is real ime 15 and had acl surgery 2 weeks ago my leg was put into a cast and i can walk on it but when i had my cast changed 2 days ago i found i could not bend my leg or pick it up straight without my leg shaking voilently. there is no way he could make this much progrees the pain would be to harsh from the operation i was crying in pain the first night i had mine done, this is a pile of bollox

  • @andygv2

Its true. My name is on it. Doctors are watched over by pretty tough authorities in my state.

I am sorry that you have had so much trouble.

  • not a chance this is real. Thats why you his knee is covered. The knee would still have massive swelling, the incision along with the staples etc.

  • @Lazmataz13

Its true. My name is on it. Doctors are watched over by pretty tough authorities in my state.

I am sorry that you have had so much trouble.

  • this is complete bs its been 2 weeks since my surgery and im on crutches still. Also the exercises he's doing are exercises youre not allowed to do untill later down the road as it puts a lot of stress on the graft.

  • Comment removed

  • Bullshit, i had mine done two days ago and apart from having 10 kilo support behind my leg, i find it hard to move in any way my knee, its painfull and although i am walking with cruches, i cant walk like that. honest.

  • im 12 i had acl surgery this summer i couldnt even get up to take a piss 2 weeks later it absautely sucks

  • @paintballinkid101 you are twelve and you have a youtube account? and you say the word piss? haha what is the world coming to?

  • iM 11 and I think this video is sum bull shit! ha jk

  • i didnt walk right for like 2 weeks

  • haha bull shit man i was high the next day after all the medication and couldnt walk like tht 4 like 2 months

  • this is nothing but a lot of B.S

  • dude u cant walk 1 day after surgery

  • this is bull shit i had acl and microfracture i had one of the best sports doctors around . 3week i can bend the knee at 100 right now but i had micro so i cant put no weight on it . i know the next day my knee was the size of beachball . he can put this b.s up there . and the 5 days later he is a bike what the f-ck is he smoking. ever one is one the same page fucking fake.

  • SOOO FAKE I ad ACL surgery last week and i still need crutches

  • Who's problem is that?

  • this is so misleading they should be shutdown..funny how the patient never shows their incisions...

  • The first day after the ACL surgery I had done three steps. For the next six days I was using crutshes.

And the 15th day I went to doctor office walking.

  • i had acl surgery left knee last tuesday first day i cant walk 2nd day need to use crutches. i cant believe this! maybe he is superman

  • i can't walk so well after 15 weeks :(

  • i can't believe this..i had my acl op 3weeks ago..i had to go witch crutshes for 2 weeks..and the first day I also couldn't move..i have also seen other videos from sanders clinic about acl reconstruction..but no..i can't believe this

  • This video is totally FAKE!!!!!!!!

  • This video is TOTALLY fake. I got ACL surgery performed by the most known surgeon in Europe and the day after I could not move. Within the first 2 weeks the patient start walking with crutches!!!! Don't believe the liars who posted this video. It's really shameful!!!!!

  • Most folks have difficulty believing something that they have never seen before and their experience lead them to believe that it is false. I had the same beliefs before I visited Dr. Shelbourne almost ten years ago. I couldn't believe my own eyes. Subseuently, I came to utilize his surgical and rehab methods, and find these results are now seen in nearly all of our patients.

  • Several our our own patients have commented on this thread and confirmed their experiences. The truth doesn't requre a defense.

  • y dont u defend urself doc......looks like ur a fake

  • this is inbelievably fake, I had surgery 1 week ago and yea im walking with out crutches and all but one i have a major limp it doesnt even hurt its just my muscles are weak and it scares the crap out of me everytime i take a step i feel like it will collapse and for this man to walk like he does with no limp or anything 1 day post op is a lie, i walked 1 day post op but the next 3 days were hell for me because everything wore off and i was all drugged up

  • acl 1 day post op???!for real..,!! come on i would not allow a FWB on the affected knee... even if the px can tolerate the pain...and why not is he using a cruthes or any assistive devices... maybe it not on a protective phase anymore.. it maybe possible for a 4-8wks post-op...

  • bullshit

  • Im sorry, but its impossible. I've been submited to this surgery a month ago.. and i started walking again only a week after the surgery.. but i was using a pair of elbow sticks and it was impossible to put some weight on my leg.. now im walking normally again, but i still can't run or try heavy weights on the gym..

    (Sorry about my english)

  • yeah right, even if this is true it cant be good to go walking on the knee putting full weight on right after a major surgery...stupid

  • i don't htink this video is realistic. 1 day after acl reconstruction???? ....come on, this is some kind of an advertisement.

  • no question i agree fale advertiseing my mind

  • one day..?!

    go F yurself...

  • i have one of the best surgeons in east coast canada that what i wass told 6 weeks on crutchers by her

  • According to data from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, ACL reconstruction is the sixth most common procedure performed in Orthopaedics. A further breakdown of this data shows that 85% of surgeons performing ACL reconstruction are doing less than 10 per year. The remaining 15% are done by surgeons who specialize in the care and treatment of these injuries. (continued)...

  • (Continued here)...

There is a wide variation in the knowledge and abilities of all these surgeons, which is why the operative and treatment plans vary so much, and ultimately, the results. Thanks for watching!

  • there is no way this is true.....even dr. andrews patients cant do this shit and he does all of the pro athletes

  • Indeed, Dr. Andrews is a world-renowned and highly respected surgeon. In this case, however, Dr. Sanders' and Dr. Andrews' rehab protocols differ slightly. Thanks for watching!

  • "All jof the pro athletes"? Even for Dr. andrews that's and ambitious claim. Anyhow, I talked to over a dozen respected surgeons specializing in sports medicine and all told me I couldn't walk right away and no way could I be back on my bike in 3 months. In the circle of "pro athletes" I run with, Doc is well recognized and highly recomended. It's been said that when it comes to knee injuries, pro motocross makes nfl players look like ballerinas. Sanders Clinic is the real deal.

  • im sure your surgery was not free and it cost more than a weeks vacation pay taxes we pay as you do in the states its not all that bad

  • We take home twice as much of our wages as you do. I'll take that and buy my family health insurance and pay for my kid's education with it. I know plenty of Canadians with four year degrees that do nothing with it. Still somebody has to pay for that education, like you.

  • wages are very compareable in both countrires i much rather live here than down there any day are education system is one of the best in the world and as per the united nations and rated by them the best country in the world in which to live and thats a fact

  • Wages are compareable, percent of that wage a worker takes home is not. You're kind of missing my point though. I'm not even remotely suggesting I live in a better place than you. I'm saying I'd rather pay to make sure my family has health care and an education than pay the government to make sure my family is taken care of. No offense intended to you or your government. I just belive I'm more efficiant with my money than my government is.

  • yes i a agree with you on that one i have blue cross as well a priviate company for extra health care dental etc that is costley for a family plan any ways take care hope you get on that bike and win some all the best

  • must be looking foe bussiness

  • If you don't believe it, what does it hurt to call.

Don't believe the 6 weeks on crutches crap, I didn't and found Dr. Sanders. My video is posted on here too.

    Good luck,

    Dave

  • 1 day bull shit i was told 6 weeks on crutvches post surgery

  • I walked out of the hospital same day. Five weeks into rehab now and my wife is having to talk me out of riding my dirt bike. No BS! It's the information age, you can't lie like that and not have people check you out. All you people that call "BS" don't have enough sense to Google? Very easy to find Dr. Sanders full history in the proffession. Think about it. What's difficult is to admit after the fact that you could have done better.

  • you dont know shit about me i done my research

  • Then by all means, present us with the evidence that lead you to such an informed conclusion.

  • i will get right on that

  • this will be the the thrid operation on this knee first acl i played hockey up here in canada for 40 years most pain yet bar none lucky for me it does not cost me a dime for the operation and physio and i have one of the best surgeons in this part of the country lucky for free health care

  • My first knee operation and hopefully the last. Unfortunately, in the next four years we may end up with universal health care like you guys (I don't call it free, the only way it doesn't cost you a dime is if you refuse to pay taxes) but I'll gladly pay for Dr. Sanders work. I used my vacation pay to cover the one week I was off work.

  • hey i had acl reconstruction on Tuesday and i cant walk on it! this is bull shit this practice should lose there medical license

  • You sound like a hater. Don't be...

I was fed the partyline from the first surgeon about my ACL repair too. But "9 months before you can return to normal activities" just wouldn't work for me so I checked around and found Dr. Sanders. He has a complete program, not just a scalpel.

I had my ACL Surgery done by him the day after you did, on Wednesday, 1/21/09, and I walked out of the hospital. These videos are completely true.

I wish you luck with your recovery.

  • Why should he lose his medical license? Because he makes his patients work out the knee after surgery rather than just letting the knee just sit there and build up fluid while you're drugged up for 6 weeks?

  • Duh!, they would if it were untrue or unreasonable. Why don't you guys report these supposed false claims to the boards that certify Dr. Sanders so something is done about this nonsense?! Think about it people! Research a tiny bit and you'll find a reputable and recognized surgeon.

  • maybe 1 month after surgery

  • This is the biggest bullshit on youtube!

  • Another video has just been posted. Please watch 1 Day after ACL Surgery at Sanders Clinic II, or One Day After ACL Reconstruction and Meniscal Repair at Sanders Clinic. Thanks for watching!

  • it is crap u guys are messing up the healing process!

I had acl reconstruction on Tuesday the 20th and i cant walk on it so ur product is either fake or ur a miracle worker

  • I can assure you that Dr. Mark Sanders clinic knows what they are doing. I had my ACL repaired on Jan 5th 2009. They had me walking before surgery and the next day, and I am going back to work tomorrow the 26th. I was very pleased that I chose this clinic to handle my ACL. It is better to use your muscles and ligaments before and after surgery then let them get atrophy. I will be back on a motocross bike in a few weeks.

  • It's impossible

  • It is hard to believe for some. Please visit our website (in the video summary) for more information on ACL surgery with accelerated rehabilitation.

  • bulldshit

  • what the h311 i this?

  • No doubt this is hard to believe, especially for ACL patients that were put in a brace or given crutches. However, this video is typical of ACL patients at Sanders Clinic and is 100% authentic. Although we have just begun posting videos on YouTube, more videos can be seen at the SandersClinic homepage listed in the video summary with information on the surgery and accelerated rehabilitation. More videos are on the way. Thanks for watching!

  • the only way this person was able to do this is if they were totally hopped up on drugs. The incision, bone drilling and cutting and the removal of the knee tendon are simply painful....my knee was so swollen the day after surgery that I couldn't even move it. Also, it is routine for hte quad muscles to lose their signal from the brain. I doubt this was taken within the first three weeks after the surgery!

  • On the day of the surgery for my right knee ( patella bone graft I had a horrible reaction to the anesthetic - puked my guts out for 8 hrs after surgery. Was supposed to be out by Lunch time , was discharged by 9pm.

5 days post-op and doing about 80 on the CPM, I could do more but my PT told me to go slow and steady.

The pain has been off and on. More bearable than I thought. During PT, it has been tough but going in to it I bulked up my legs pre-op to hopefully get me through some of this.

  • good job!! keep it going - good luck with your recovery...going for mine december 1st

  • how did it go? :s

im might get a patella surgery too

    but im not sure still.

  • amazing!!!
