  • What I guess is a positive is that I deal with depression well cuz I mostly hide my feelings and no one even notices but with anger and highs I sometimes need a lot of help :/

  • Having being diagnosed myself nearly five years not knowing what was wrong for thirty years of my life, I'll soon be 35 in Febuary 2012. Learning after diagnoses all about the illness has helped me better to understand myself, and when I know what is going on, I can get through things and problems in my life better, learning to cope, and understanding myself more, learning all I can, and medication has made a big difference in my life, I encourage all to learn all you can about the illness.

  • Becoming impatient with one's circumstances can make the symptoms worse. It won't be possible all the time but being more accepting of oneself just the way things are can help with balancing mood for longer periods. There is no need for embarrassment or shame.

  • As you get used to living with BPD, you'll get to learn your trigger points: lack of sleep, caffeine, alcohol etc.

  • omg i did the same thing cut one night i was so down then the next day i cleaned the whole house was even cleaning the walls and doors lol, i am really in denial about bipolar i really relate to you i am depressed now and just going to start lamictal, but on paxil too regular doc give it to me for depression scared about starting lamictal btw i was on lithium and worked good but did not like getting blood drawn try a low dose of lithium good luck keep making videos

  • Lithium does have a lower suicide rate... doctors dont push it because they dont make tons of money off it (it's cheap)

  • A few things I want to say:

    1. Caffeine typically is a no no.

    2. Meds aren't a cure they help to manage one's symptoms.

    3. It would be good to join a dbsa group in your area it sounds like you need more info and support.

    4. Pyschotherapy would help the cutting. There is no shame in therapy.

    5. Sleep is so essential. It's referred to as sleep hygiene.

    6. Keeping active is so important. Too much time in the mind can put anyone over the top.

Big huge hug of compassion and empathy!!!

  • idk why i can never keep my haed centered in these things haha

  • @Pumpkinhead214 Bi-polar is a sad thing to realize you have :(.... I got it, and y'know it's tough but it gets better when you think positive... even though it's hard... haha

  • i hate mixed states and rapid cycling. cutting can cause a euphoric feeling

  • i'm in a weird mixed state... i'm depressed and giddy at the same time....

    i'm glad u pulled through :)
