  • The Prequels prove no matter how dumb your movie is, it'll never be dumbe than the people who actually like it

  • Wanna punch Lucas in the face when he announced the first draft.

  • What is the music that plays from the beginning of the video? It was in the other review, but I can't find it?

  • What's that jazz piece that starts playing at 7:26? I've heard that theme in the anime version of Metropolis, yet the song never sounded exactly like the version playing in this video.

  • I liked this movie but i was still enjoying the review!!! Internet love me, love me!!!

  • 2:18.. hilarious. the names. .. the names Lucas chose. just couldnt be any cheesier...i thought i was the only one to think that.

  • Anakin is noble... Hmmmhhhh...

  • @RevanGabriel Nit picking is forced upon this movie because they're written badly. Just watch Plinketts Star Trek (2009) review, you'll see.

  • @EvanSol919 C'mon man, it's not a comparison, it's a joke, he said that Transformers is a live action picture which is completely reliant on CG.

  • admiral bone-to-pick made me laugh so hard

  • It did make sense that AS wanted to help the clone troop cuz he had death issues he wanted to save people he was alined with yea he was a killer but he had attachment issues.

  • Hey! You cannot compare Toy Story to Transformers or any of the Star Wars prequels! Yes it was all CGI but there was an actual story and we fell in love with the characters.

  • The Transfomers joke was perfect! haha

  • MediaLetterRed? RedLetterMedia!!

  • watch the animated clone wars series (its actually really good) and you would have had an idea of whats going on in the opening sequence

  • @1337ontoast But you shouldn't have to watch extra material to figure out what's going on in your movie. Everything the audience needs to know should be contained IN the movie. Otherwise nothing will make sense.

  • @1337ontoast that's his point. These movies are designed to be understood 1-6. Just six movies, not with outlying extra movies and books. It's too much to assume people actually read or watch other stars wars crap besides the six movies

  • @1337ontoast Like other people said, it's a movie and it should be made well enough for non Star Wars fans to say, "That was a great movie." And they should be able to get it and be able to relate the prequels to the original movies and what made them great.

I say this as a Star Wars fan and a person familar with the EU.

It's a tongue in cheek review but the criticisms are valid.

  • "I am so confused!" with a picture of yoda scratching his head. every time he says it it makes me laugh.

  • And you could just assume that Sidious and Dooku told Grievous to not kill Palpatine.

  • "Vader was seduced by the dark..."

    "I JUST SAID THAT!!!!!!!"

  • LOL! Admiral Bone-to-Pick

  • captain nefarious?

don't you mean dr. nefarious ?

    LOL

  • BUT WAIT THERES MORE!

  • "There's a four letter word that comes to mind. 'Fuck'.

Nah, I'm just kidding, the word is 'crap'.

Nah, I'm just kidding, the word is 'shit'.

Nah, I'm just kidding, the word is 'piss'.

Nah, I'm just kidding, the word is 'poop'.

Nah, I'm just kidding, the word is 'garbage'."

Made me laugh more than I should have.

  • CGI is or any effects render in a computer is not easy -_-

  • haha this shit aint no rube goldberg machine

  • The entire time i watched part 2 i was singing "i want to fuck more"

  • Actually, if they had taken on the moral issue of cloning and whether these clones were people or not could have made for a compelling side plot, I think, but then Lucas would have just fucked that up too, so I'm glad they left it untouched.

  • @ubered1049 Indeed; that's actually what much of the prequel-era Expanded Universe got into.

  • God bless you Harry Plinkett.

  • The reviews of the first 2 films were good, but in this onetheir just nit picking at way too many small stuff.

  • thay zome in i di,nt like the the afect but i liked the idea imagention maters most have you been paying atention i can reconise the ships when aniken tell padime what he did to the sand people he knows he should, ent have done that he tries to be just in many seen watch there a video why the perquals are ok.its more then one tone why not boths do you have any imagention.i wounder if why he di,nt spill the bean that scene to but just say palpatie strangaled him to keep him from talking

  • i love the background music

  • Twenty four dollars and sixteen cents to say Cop Out was amazing?

    You cheap bastard.

  • @GreatScottPilgrimage Sarcasm................

  • @superhuman295 What is?....

  • @GreatScottPilgrimage never mind lol.

  • @superhuman295 Never mind whatnow?.... Say whatnow?.... What?.... What?.... What?

  • brilliant.... these should be released in theaters

  • Dawn of the dead remake

  • Does anyone know the movie referenced at 4:30?

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You can't call me insane! It's unconstitutional! WAAAH!

You're a fat, idiot retard. RETARD. The prequels are fucking poopie. Did you even bother to listen to these reviews? At all?

  • He's half pig?

Is he also half FROG?! XD

  • I knew there was something off about Captain I'm A Bad Guy. Hey, maybe he was one of those "heroes on both sides".

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 That makes literally no sense at all. Makes me even wonder if this comment was written by a human being. What kind of reasoning is this? "Thing A is good, so thing B is just as good as thing A."

  • @Returnofthejedi1000

theres no way the phantom menance is on par with empire strikes back

  • id like to see you do reviews of movies 3-6 such as a farm boy becoming a jedi in 2 years, yoda fascinated by a light. the blood in a new hope with ligght saber etc, no gravity inside a worm in out of space, the poor light saber fights in a new hope, ewoks, incest kissing etc? i could bash the most perfect movie the way you do

  • @NitroSlol fuck off :D

  • @darkjj25 hehe the truth hurts

  • @NitroSlol Way to entirely miss the fucking point! LOLZ

  • @chosentonessournotes aka got it perfectly

  • @NitroSlol 1. Why can't one become a Jedi in two years? That was before the PT nonsense.

    2. Yoda pretended to be annoying/crazy to test Luke's patience. It was his first test and he failed.

    3. Blood in Cantina fight. Correct. Should have been cauterized.

    4. Space slug, agreed.

    5. Poor lightsaber fights? If you haven't figured out it's about what's going on with the characters and not a martial arts show I can't help you. See TPM review part 7.

  • @NitroSlol 6. Ewoks suck. Totally agreed. Was supposed to be Wookies, but I'm sure George changed it to sell toys.

    7. Incest kissing? George could have pulled the brother/sister thing out of his ass for Jedi.

So really, are minor deterrents that big of a deal compared to 8 year old Anakin? Boy band Anakin? Crap CGI characters? Space Jesus? Wooden characters? Two sides in war that we don't care about?

  • @Cap285 most of your points are of opinnion though, i didnt mind them, there was more going on in the fight with obi wan and anakin then obi wan and darth vadar. who the heck is space jesus?

  • @NitroSlol I disagree. The fight between Obi-Wan and Vader has much more going on as we knew they were once friends. Actually, not knowing and using the imagination I feel is far better than having my hand held in the PT. I never got the sense that they were friends. I totally with Plinkett on that.

Anakin/Vader was Space Jesus. Watch all of the Plinkett reviews, he covers all of this.

The PT had so much potential, I think George over did it. Where is Gary Kurtz when you need him?

  • @NitroSlol The hell are you talking about?! Even in ROTJ Luke wasn't a Jedi until he confronted Vader, and that was four years later!!! Hell, in ESB he only began his training, and that was three years after ANH! You know, nit picky inconsistencies don't bother me, what's important is the pacing of the film, the chemistry between the characters, but most importantly, the quality of the story. Is there any quality or craftsmanship to the story of the prequels at all? IMHO... NO.

  • @Returnofthejedi1000

... it's 6 movies, part of "a saga", and one of them is worse than another? Or, whisper it, the disparities range from small to huge?

How can it be that one movie is awesome, and another sucks? IT'S ALL STAR WARS!! All the movies have, have to be perfect! How can it be any other way???

    Really, you're just hilarious.

  • @Returnofthejedi1000

That's a piece of religious dogma, and in no way related to sane movie criticism. Like, normal people have no problems admitting that they liked Gofather III less then the previous ones, or Dark Knight better than Begins, or anything of that sort.

But in your crazy cult mentality, it's all awesome simply because it's in the "Star Wars package", it's 6 films and they all have to be EQUALLY awesome, so the picture is complete and untainted.

I mean, how can it be that...

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 Totally disagree. Empire is the pinnacle of all that is Star Wars. I'm with Plinkett, so, take that for what it is.

  • @Cap285 Me personally, I love all 3 of the original trilogy equally. I can watch each one literally any day of the week. Personal fave is Jedi, cuz it was the first SW I saw when I was 6

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 Go ahead. Go tell any Star Wars fan that you think TPM is better than ESB. After he is done pissing himself laughing, he will tell you're insane.

Those two movies are polar opposites.

  • 7:25 and on is perfect review of the mess in the beginning.

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 Yes I can if you think TPM is even in the same universe as Empire Strikes Back.

  • @Cap285 As good as Empire is, it too is filled with gaping holes that go unnoticed (a.k.a. ignored) by most fans because they were kids when they saw it and didn't know any better and thus grandfather them in when thinking about that movie.

  • @patbuddha I never said Empire is not without it's flaws.

However, it blows TPM completely out of the water. Completely.

I still can't believe people think this way after these reviews. Oh well.

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 And I think you're legally insane.

  • "It's the same goddamn thing if they're there or not there." It's funny 'cause it's true. Lucas seems to enjoy pointless fight scenes meant to dazzle and impress the audience. Like Michael Bay, he enjoys all style, no substance.

  • My god, Plinkett is a genius and he's hilarious. I knew the prequels were bad and really boring, but I never picked up on a lot of the things he's pointing out.

  • If these prequels ever get the copyright taken off, does anyone think they might be rewritten? Like, entirely reworked into completely different films? Maybe ones that started when Anakin was a teenager?

  • The bit where the 2 jedi survive the vacuum of space was pretty funny.

  • @PuuberZ yeah I never been in space but why didn't they freeze I didn't see any sun out there

  • Number four, Setting the Stage.

    FOR CONFUSION.

  • So once Grievance has captured the chancelor, why does he not just take off? I mean, why does he keep him there? These ships can go into hyperspace in a second.

  • I resent the clone trooper comment. I would say Fuck the chancellor I'm saving the guys who I've lived next to for three years.

  • Man, watching this brings the star wars out from me, and makes me want to watch it.

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 Here, Here.

  • "I don't care if it was told to us in a fucking book or whatever!"

Exactly, the books are, by and large, shit.

  • what are those two movies at 4:28?

  • @WhiskeyMikeNinerTwo

Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park and Dawn of the Dead (2004)

  • @MediaLetterRed 3 good films that rock my COCK

  • you think too hard about this movie

  • 13:55 i wonder what was really going through the heads of all those people who had to clap in order to keep their jobs.

  • thank you for posting

  • The prequels sucked because everyone knew Palpatine was Darth Sidious. It mad the big reveal in Revenge of the Sith so anticlimactic and a joke.

  • 00:13 are you impersonating eddie murphy impersonating a white guy? that michael is a special kind of guy!

  • i think these employees should have called for an intervention for lucas. his films are so bad that they seem like the work of a madman. we all know he made good films. we all know he is talented. and now he is rich and nearing the end of his career. you'd think he'd pour all his money and experience and talent into making an epic ending for star wars... and all you get is lazy, bad writing, and lazy, bad direction. it's like he couldn't care less about the result.

  • I don't know if you mentioned it in one of your videos but no one seemed to noticed that padmé is pregnant and carrying twin babies? I guess the Jedi did deserved to be wiped out. But seriously I'm glad that finally someone like noticed all the non-sense you mentioned. I think that the prequels are stupid not to mention the famous nooooooooo from Darth Vader. George Lucas sucks dick

  • He forgot to mention the oddity of placing human-like reactions to battle droid deaths, whereas in the first two they were purely robotic.

  • "There isn't a violent rape on a pinball machine in the first 10 mins of ghostbusters" LMAO

  • Thanks for the ride... Idiots!

  • I long to Lucas's reaction to this soul-crushing logic.

  • @MasterDusk George Lucas is too stubborn. He already know's how much people hate his work but in his own opinion they just don't get his art...George Lucas is an asshole he'll never stop and we'll have to wait 38 years until his copyright term has ended assuming he lives for 10 years before anyone has any chance of making a spinoff to revive the series V_V

  • @Uberjetsu

Lucas is a perfect example of someone who can't realize their limitations. Sure he has a vision when it comes to special effects, but he needed to surround himself with truly creative people and not a bunch of yes men.

  • WoW! Good point, how the heck does Palps know what a Sith Lord is. Does the general public have this knowledge?

  • This made my head hurt but its so true! i love starwars but i love the reviews more ^_^

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 Obvious troll is obvious

  • @Returnofthejedi1000 Fine with us. Go enjoy them. You DO give a damn, though. Giving a damn is what brought you here. Also, it sounds like you're saying "Fuck you for your opinion! Now respect MY opinion!" How is that supposed to work?

  • you have to watch this shit in the old 3 series cartoon to figure out why palpatine is captured.

  • Actually the script must have been written in a week...Becasue when pre production on setings takes place at the Ranch...Lucas says "I better start the script pretty soon." to the exat same staff and artist as in 13:53

  • Ok...I must ask anyone...Does Dooku know that Palpatine is Sidious...

  • @MrDavidFILM Yeah, i think that was to have dooku die so palpatine could use anakin next. so i guess it was all planned for his death, idk

  • Just love Captain I'm-a-bad-guy!!!

  • I wanna see this guy review the Clone Wars Cartoons...

  • Lucas: Mark Hamill was dressed in black in Return of the Jedi, so let's do the same with Anakin!

  • why the hell is Mr.Plinket reviewing cop dog and baby's day out for? When is he going to get to demolish (I mean review) Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, Transformers trilogy, and possibly Termninator Salvation or GI Joe or something else crazy stupid? I still waiting for him to do these movies.

  • @MasterAce2991 I agree. I hope he does. Terminator Salvation is garbage, and my friend thinks it's better better than than the first three. Then again... He thinks Star Wars 1-3 is better than 4-6, so...

  • admiral bone to pick....lol

  • @Sepultura510

And don't forget Commander Nefarious and Captain I'm a bad guy ;D

  • @MediaLetterRed

    Too bad they're not mentioned.

  • @MediaLetterRed i bet lucas sat in his comfy chair and just looked up sinister words in the dictionary, trying to find something to use for hic characters. hmm... 'insidious'. great! we'll have darth sidious. i can't believe how easy this is! what's next? 'grievance'...

  • @MediaLetterRed You should honestly review "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". It's worse than all three of the prequels put together. Plus, it's just another excuse for Lucas to make money off of today's generation.

  • @CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 ugh, that movie was disgusting. everything was unbearable

  • @superhuman295 I completely agree. According to "Chicago Tribune" film critic Michael Phillips, the animation resembles "Japanese wood-prints that failed to get animated".

  • @CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 yeah it did. everyone looked completly unfinished and it was one of the most disturbing things ive ever seen in a movie and i hated it

  • @superhuman295 And now the "Star Wars" movies are coming out in 3D. Damn you, George Lucas. Damn you!

  • @CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 I'll 3D his money-hungry ass in the face

  • @superhuman295 LOL!

  • @CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 id rather see the guys who did Empire and Jedi do these prequels instead

  • I didn't think R2 taking out the robots was 'slap stick' humor nor did I think Anakin and Obi in the elavator was slap stick. Look these movies basically suck as star wars prequels we know that, no need to over analyze it,...but it sure is entertaining and thorough so thanks lol ;-)

  • He only got $24.16 cents to plug Cop Out.

  • Comment removed

  • Nah I'm just kidding....

  • 12:14

    lol... true! xD

  • Lucas...exposed. These videos are pure genius.

  • I disagree with the whole CGI point. If a movie implements the CGI in with the actors and then it looks like theyre interacting and will look great. like Transformers, the movies fucking suck dont get me wrong but Micheal Bay certainly knows how to place CGI into his shots and still make the actors look like theyre interacting with it making it look real.

  • @EmeraldIsleStar You really believe that a battery and a ruby can produce a blade beam?

  • WTH? This vids been out a month and it only has 1800 views?

  • I remember getting this movie on DVD and getting all excited because of the reviews for this. Then before the opening scene even finished I was already bored out of my goddam mind and realized this was the same old movie

  • lol. ur just easily confused i think, whining bec. everything isnt crystal clear and simple to old farts like u?

  • @axdurian2 Not at all, you fagboy, his review is spot on. The reason the film industry is shit today is because of young morons like yourself who blow money on every CGI crapfest that comes out.

LOL at being 22 years old and not knowing how to spell "you"

  • @polosortsman its called abbreviation, L2Internetz.

way to generalize about other 'young morons' who arent trying to desperately relive their 'good old days' when space operas were so cool the way u old farts always do.

  • @axdurian2 But don't you see the irony inherent in the CGI blockbuster? How it tries so hard to be "epic" and "awe-inspiring" but ultimately fails because it takes place entirely in the safety and sterility of a hard drive? What makes good movies compelling is that they're impressive: they inspire us in their art and technique; they're triumphs of the human ability. But there's nothing impressive about a lifeless product that could've been made by any interchangeable jackass with a computer.

  • @Gxxlodovec but you are biased in that entire opinion because you already know that its all made with CGI, therefore youre unimpressed. What would you think if the episodes 4-6 were first produced in CGI? Do you really think having physical set rather than a green screen automatically makes it "impressive"?? lol

  • @axdurian2 Yes I do think that something requiring technique, timing, and a risk of failure will always be more impressive than a digital fallacy. Moreover, Putting actors in a real place allows them to react and act genuinely to visceral things that they can actually see and understand, while lighting and direction in a real space make the scenes interesting. Had the OT been rendered with extensive CGI, the excitement and emotive qualities that make those movies great would've been diminished

  • @axdurian2 Yes, it does make it automatically better. It doesnt take a genius or any previous knowledge to tell 4-6 were shot on set with real organic things. All the blantantly obvious CGI in the prequels is remotely impressive or realistic, it just looks boring and faked because it was half-assed. With 4-6, I still cant figure out how they did some of it, and it makes the story and premise more believable and enjoyable as a result

  • @zzyzx0788 sounds like u care more about how it was made rather than how it looks. Lucas only tried to depict his universe as he imagined it. The OT's universe was smaller & simpler with a more 'fairy-tale' quality (&more ppl than machines). He only did it that way because of the limitations of movie tech at the time. The prequels take place in an obviously larger more advanced & industrialized (more machines) turbulent society. How can anyone possibly create all that complexity w/o lots of CGI?

  • @axdurian2 Limitations? Lucas got lazy. The original triology felt like a real universe without seeming like a goddam video game. Its not that hard to do, and the people who did it for him back in the day did it great. I mean look at the Dark Knight, it felt like a huge Gotham City with virtually no CGI. It felt real, and that was the most important part, like the old Star Wars episodes. The new ones are goodam video games. He's lazy and wants money, thats the bottom line

  • @zzyzx0788 The thing about The Dark Knight is that it is a super hero movie set in a real world, a real city with real and believable characters. There's a lot of flaws in TDK too but that's not the point. The point is that after seeing TDK the audience was fully convinced that such a movie can happen in real life. Not like the 90's Batmans where it got sillier by the sequel with Mr. Freeze.

  • @MexicanTuber True, but the old Batman movies (and I mean the original Tim Burton two) didnt have the tremendous lapses in logic and werent over-the-top action sequences punctuated by long boring dialogue scenes that dont really seem to progress the story much further.

  • @zzyzx0788 Same applies for Inception. Nolan is really good at using practical effects in his movies.

  • @zzyzx0788 Many hours of thousands of peoples time were put into the cgi. Its not easy. The problem isnt the difficulty of the work. Its how its pulled off. Michael Bays Autobots looked pretty convincing. Bladerunner had an inspired Egyptian feel. CGI can be pulled off well and they CAN be just as rewarding as a bunch of models were in the late 70s. The problem is everyone these days uses them and only a few have the talent to actually pull of something creative.

  • @xPurpleDrinkx9001 Not saying the people making the CGI were lazy, I'm saying Lucas was being lazy for using CGI. Its such a crutch for filmmakers these days instead of coming up with real creative means with actually real objects. Referring to Christopher Nolan again, take a look at the hotel fight scene from Inception where the room was changing gravity. He could have just used CGI, but instead came up with a real creative way to display it, and it looks amazing as a result.

  • @axdurian2 I think what annoys people is that nothing is presented to the viewer, in any way that is organized with respect to what made the whole original star wars concept interesting to begin with. Ok so in theory it would be nice if you could have 10000 droids in one scene instead of 1 guy in a suit and a midget in a can. But nothing of it is put to any clever narrative use. For example: the battles lack any strategical sense whatsoever, so its just stuff whizzing about...

  • @axdurian2 (continued) Or else they are just pointlessly beating us over the head with it like the battle of the fish people vs the droids, i.e. an elaborate Jarjar slapstick joke. Compare this to the assaults on the two death stars for instance. The battles as strategic events were transparent to everyone, yet they were effective as narrative devices that gave everything its proper sense and outcome at a dazzling tempo. "lots of stuff happening" shouldnt equal "pure demented chaos".
