You have to wonder why they even let him in the ring with Bonjasky. They had him beating up freakshows more often, like Sapp, but it's not a good matchup, even dangerous for the freakshow.

Boxers generally fight alot longer than kickboxers. Usually somewhere between 6 and 12 rounds at 3mins correct? Muay thai is usually 5x3mins and strikes are directed at various areas of the body so your'e getting hit in the head slightly less frequently. Get punched on the head for 30 odd mins or get kicked in the head for 10. take your pick lol
i have to disagree with the touher part, boxers do take a beating but mma fighters do more bc of the glove size, look at the difference plus u can get kicked in the head too which is more powerful than a punch.

Boxers generally fight alot longer than kickboxers. Usually somewhere between 6 and 12 rounds at 3mins correct? Muay thai is usually 5x3mins and strikes are directed at various areas of the body so your'e getting hit in the head slightly less frequently. Get punched on the head for 30 odd mins or get kicked in the head for 10. take your pick lol

When it comes to combat sports it's not pointless to compare styles. That's actually why the UFC was originally created. Comparing styles will show which works better in a real fight, which is usually the point of training in any particular style. To win fights.

The fact is, mma is based not only on skills but atheleticism, strength, speed& stamina! So just because mma fighters would beat a boxer (who's only trained in boxing), it doesn't mean they are necessarily better than the boxer! Give a great boxer 6 months training, and i think many will do extremely well in mma! It's such an unfair comparision so i don't even go there!

And as much i hate Anderson Silva, he's pretty damn good fighter, ofcourse i don't consider him better than Fedor! But he's probably the 2nd best mma fighters, and definitely the best middleweight in the world currently today! Silva should move up to ligh heavyweight and take on bigger guys if u ask me!

I've watched Pride since Pride 18. And I watched boxing since I was a kid. I like all 3, trained all 3..

I dont know if you train in a gym or something, but in my experience people who do combat sports automatically learn to respect each other (except the one's with big ego's, guys like Mayweather). @seblasian yup, i trained in a dojo and am trainin in gyms here in sunny cali. i have a black belt in karate and actively trainin in sambo. where i came from, the more matches we have with more different styles, the more we learn to appreciate and respect other arts. yea, many mma guys came from some sort of boxin trainin, so they respect that sport, and vice versa. but people like toney, who has no class to begin with, just makes it harder for boxers wanting and tryin to get into mma. fuck him!
