syno frontosa? this fish eats anything as far a s fish food but no algee I havent tryed algee tablets yet tho. if your syno has smaller spots and is darker I believe its a syno angelicus...one of my favs.
Looks like a euptera hybrid, to me. Very nice syno, regardless. I just got my first synodontis (a fairly large S. frontosa) last week, and although he doesn't come out much yet, he's already one of my favorite fish.
i own about seven diff species of synodontis. from petricolas to hybrids like syno jaguar, and my latest. a hybrid mix of mutlipunctatus and eupruptus. name was not labled. his color is a bit yellow. i would have to say they shyest would be petricola. i have thirteen in a twenty gallon with rock. IF you want to enjoy sertain species of syno, go with minimal hidding spots. or you wont see them until the room is calm.
@thismutha That's a very good point however the animal wouldn't hide if it felt more comfortable that way. By not providing hiding places the fish will live in stress which is no way to care for your pets. You wouldn't want to abuse your dog just so you could "see him more" would you? Fish are living things too. They deserve proper care. Think about it... You don't have to agree with me.
I bought two of them they are the same size as yours they both tatoo eachother all the time and they shred eachothers fins :( i think im going to get rid of one but other then the aggression towards eachother no problems with them and they are great
I have 3 of one syno called jaguar synodontis and they would fight when new to the tank and with time they calmed down. Good luck. I love synos. Up to 5 diff species for me

Do these eat algae like the pleco? I need a pleco in my aquarium but this looks way cooler.
