  • im sure ill get flamed for this, but a lot of the lyrics strike tone with Luciferism, and before flaming, that isnt devil worship. its the belief that redemption can only come from within. you can only save yourself, not rely on another doing it for you. just an idea about what the song means. and then the perversions of bibel quotes "my will be done" etc lol... ;;>>

  • Instead of debating what the songs about, I just choose to relate to it. and that I do...

  • There is no after-life so let's make this hell we fueled with human suffering a better place.

  • @guckenberger That's the message I got from it.

  • VNV VICTORY NOT VENGEANCE

  • The first VNV Song I`ve ever heard. In that moment I fell in love with the band.

  • @Dorkus89 You are half correct. VNV philosophy is that you identify a problem and the strive to fix it by examples of your own actions. Too bad that today some see a problem and then strive to live within that reality instead of saying NO. Live to improve the world around us is what this song is saying.

  • @disconcerted1111 I don't really care. I just said what it is about for me...

  • Love the lyrics!

  • Seven people are scum who do not know good music with fine messages.

  • nightowl8936, you ignorant fool! Do you even know what the Crescent Moon means that is your flag? Mine is the Cross. Your God Allah is not the God of this earth. You worship a Moon God!!!!!! You fool.

This song from the writer(s) relates a lot to what Christ said:

first of all shame and gods is what we relate to and follow. The chorus I feel really relates to the second coming of Christ and yes, He will create a new world and wipe every tear from our eyes.

  • @accessandamplify Bless you man have a great day by the way I'm no hippie None the less have a great day man . Much Love peace light and JOY ha ha ha kill em with kindnesss

  • to me this song was always about Europeans creating a positive form of nationalism that allowed the people to maintain their sovereignty without falling into the excesses of fascist nationalism.

  • Like many of their songs, this one seems to be about the inherent contradictions within the myth of the nation-state. In a narrative sense, it seems to be about the dissolution of one nation-state into another, from the perspective of the conquering nation. For an argument that the narrator is not morally spotless, examine the use of the first person in the chorus: the narrator is arrogating to himself the formation and authority of the new (redefined) nation-state.

  • Whats all this song interpretation about a Nation-state?

If you listen to the lyrics agin, I think you'll agree there are many clear references to religion.

From a quick look on a page with the Kingdom lyrics, it seems to me a commentary on moral degradation and destruction in the name of religion to try to recapture some kind of moral high ground.

The song narrator is saying that the way to salvation is to work to make things better for everyone.

  • I would say they're electro. Sub-genre needling aside. They do wax industrial however.

We need to stop inventing a new genre ever time someone comes along with a slightly different sound. If we can't do that then I'm going to classify my band as Light-Industrial-Electro-Pop-Gothic-Futurepop-hemitrance-techno-groove-gothic-punk-hardtech-hip hop.

On second thought, that is more fun. Let's do that instead XP

  • This generation has more than that, trash is a compliment considering what it has become.

  • This is the genre you can find VnV Nation under:

    VnV Nation

The band is so epic they have paved themselves their own genre, so stop bitching about whether they're EBM, Industrial, Gothic electrode- I dont give a fuck, i just wish you people would sit still and listen to good music

  • Agreed.

  • I dont give a Shit what UMBRELLA VNV nation falls under, I FUCKEN LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What ? not industrial? Are we going into a new genre? What is the mystery?

  • @gothicangelred its future pop

  • No. Its Techno. "future pop" sounds fucking retarded.

  • HAHA. Nice.

  • Thanks. lol...

  • They stopped considering themselves Futurepop years ago, now it's considered a disgusting term.

Although Industrial is an umbrella term, this music is still connected to Industrial, namely "Industrial dance". There are different forms of Industrial, after all.

  • No offence but "Futurepop" is a term invented by the press, it doesn't refer to anything.

It's true that bands such as Covenant, VNV Nation APB or Icon of Coil released albums which sounded alike in 1999-2001 but that's all.

Futurepop has never been a kind of music.

  • The series of noises I have just expirienced caused my brain to release chemicals into my body that caused feelings of relaxation and comfort.

  • Timeless! Great Song!

  • VNV considers themselves "Future-Pop."

  • VNV stopped considering themselves Futurepop, like Ularewolf said, but to further elaborate on that, they DID call themselves "Futurepop" back when they started, but they said in an interview about 5-7 years later that they "regretted ever using the term".

  • the new album is not any of those three...it's more trance/electro than anything, with few songs here and there that differ from it like Ghost and the first and last track

  • EMBRACE SCIENCE, WELCOME THE TECHNOLOGICAL SINGULARITY! Only WE, can save OURSELVES....We shall conceive a heaven on earth! Built on top of this very hell in which we live.

  • @TheMetacognologist I despise bringing religion into singularitarianism, but I'm not quite awake yet and susceptible to inspiring stuff, so, that comment was win. Of course, once I'm fully conscious, I'll have marked this as spam.

  • Hymnic song, sound of the spheres. I love, love, really love pathetic, monumental hymns, with heroical lyrics...

  • VnV Nation are one of the rare bands that gets emotion ...epicly...into most of there songs ...

    VnV Nation = Epic

    :)

  • Tell me about it. I was in tears at the concert in detroit this year. I was in the very front and Beloved just made me break.

  • @goth6satan i totally hate the word "epic" to describe something great, but you're spot on!

  • epic ?

    you know something about epic?

vnv nation is a greeaaaaaaat band but not is epic..

  • @SiehstDuMichImLicht say what you want, my comment is the highest rated :P

  • @SiehstDuMichImLicht To each their own... and one mans trash is another's treasure. Personally, this band is my textbook definition of Epic.

  • @goth6satan hell yeah there badass!!

  • Our domain, this kingdom come now godless lands whose ways are lost. Without the strength to carry on. All values lost all virtue none. Did you think you would be saved by burning flags to cleanse yourselves of shame? Or are you afraid as you stare back at your face? are you ashamed, are you afraid, by destroying what the gods had made? Did you think you would be saved? To me this song is about the modern western world and the decay we are in.
  • -To me this song is about the modern western world and the decay we are in.

ancient rome - watching people killing each other is fun

middle ages - torturing people and burning them alive is fun

50 years ago - killing millions of people with gas is fun

so nah, the western world is quite ok (a bit boring imo, but still ok)

  • Gives me the chills when I dare to think about what will come next.

  • but thats good :-)

thats what makes you different to me... Everyone is entitled to their own individual opinion

    ^_^

  • i disagree, i think the music is amazing as are the lyrics that go with it

  • hrmmm, your comment is SENSELESS, and your name means you're a faggot, STFU.

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus

I think its just as applicable to the Muslim bastards who multiply like flies, who infest the wombs of as many women as they can with their parasitic maggot fetuses, who are then vomited into the world and give the world nothing but nihilism.

But once the Indian FGFA is in service, no flesh shall be spared. No maggot flesh.

  • @nightowl8936 Muslim lands can hardly be called Godless so no....

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus

Muslims love to burn flags and effigies, and murder and oppress one another. Seems pretty godless to me.

They are indeed in the hell they have created for themselves, and yet want to come to other countries to continue to spread their bullshit "religion" that commands them to kill and oppress and enslave.

  • @nightowl8936 What about the Christians who kill people to "please their God"? The burning of people at the stake as a "witch" because these people might think differently than them. PEOPLE ARE CORRUPT. You can't just blame a certain group. People are naturally blood-thirsty, destructive creatures. Selfish and at times immoral. EVERYONE is. So do not try to patronize a certain group of people. Do not generalize for you are just as hideous as all the rest.

  • @Girr1300 Though peace is impossible to reach, it is ever sought by those who live for it.

  • Comment removed

  • "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." As said the very man whose name they dishonor with their corruptions.

  • @Girr1300 AMEN!!!!! lol, which, btw, historically comes from the name of the Egyptian sun god... trolololol

  • @nightowl8936 Do you think you're saved, by the guns and knives that you have made?

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus Note that it also says "none will be saved!" For me, it is a call to action. We should bring about our own "heaven in hell", instead of waiting for salvation that will never come.

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus Dorkus Malyorkus, did you get that from my Onyx Comyx? Vlad Vadaviknov, the Demonic Nazi Cop?

  • meh

  • Why are VNV Nation songs so so awesome? :c

    :333

  • because VNV Nation is super Awsome duh silly!

  • Christ, VnV nation is rly the best forever!

  • this song is one of their BEST. i remember the first time i heard this right after hearing 'firstlight' the first track on the album, and VNV had my heart at that point. it was so beyond other 'industrial/rivet' groups that were around at the time. and then of course when i heard 'Arclight' at the end of the album i felt like i was a new person. as tacky as their following and fanbase can be, ronan really is a deep person, and he's changed my life. thanks ronan (and mark)!

  • Some of my favorite bands (like VNV) has a fan base worth axing to death

  • DanceTheSpears.. maybe it's YOU that sucks .. PERIOD. People hwo harp on negativism have some kind of inner self issues. pllfftt...... WHATEVER.

  • I love this song !!!!

  • i just booked a ticket for thei concert in rome!!

    why they suck?

  • Dont get me wrong...I will go see them every time.. But they play the same set of songs in the same order...every time. Even the stage is always set up the same. The lights, the dancing, the projection screen...even what Ronan says between songs... all the same. Well, the one thing that did change was the addition of new songs to set list after each tour. But thats kind of the point.

This July will make the sixth time I have seen VNV. I mean, they are great...just kinda sad it doesnt change..

  • i understood!

fortunatelly this is the first stage for me ;)

  • They rock live! you must of been drunk and went to wrong consert if you say they suck live

  • Comment removed

  • I pretty much had to drink in order to really enjoy myself there. lol Like I said. I'll always go see them, always! But damn....

  • F you, DanceTheSpears!

    VNV Nation is the shit!

  • Chrome had the best BG instrumental but this is almost as good.

  • Have fun with throwing your life away...

  • KILL THE RELIGIOUS NUTS

  • ldiot.

  • Dummkopf, this song is not about rejecting religion, as you should know: VnV nation does not advocate any ideas, theoris, or ideology. this song is about the technological era and what can be done, the hell on earth is the savage untamed land, heaven is civilization. ZenithTheDragon, you infact ARE an idiot.

  • fail

  • wonderful song..

  • VNV NATION

  • "Do you think that you'll be saved?"

  • none wil be saved

  • by the gods and idols that you have made

  • lol i have the same picture as znerky

  • its so great - i love it

  • Great song thank you for posting, I will have to purchase the album.

  • "And I believe that we'll conceive..."

  • I LOVE VNV!!! This is my 2nd fave VNV track, my fave being Illusion. That song just turns me to jelly.

  • i really like the words to this song

  • Me too, even tough i don't completely understand..

At the same time it gives the feeling that the man is destroying what gods have made and then the gods are made by the man...

  • Kickin' it oldschool! Nice quality on the recording, thank you!

  • Awesome track!

  • I love this song. I was hoping that it was on Youboob!

  • Does it matter what genre it is, as long as you like the music the genres irrelevant

  • I agree

  • I fully agree.

All this nit-picking we're having lately doesn't add anything.

You like it,or leave it for what it is.

    Whatever that may be...;)

For the record...I love this,5 stars.

  • "A brave new world.....

  • i simply LOVE this song!!

  • Fuuuunky! hahaha.. Awesome!

  • Znerky... THANK YOU.

  • Lol, np.

  • our demain this kingdom come ...(Y)

    VNV-NATION forEVER!~

    demogorgornoth-CYDERGOTH-Autz~

  • it's techno industrial

  • I'd say dark trance or futurepop, but yeah.

  • haha black metal, your funny.

    industrial as stated friend.

plus this song has to be one of my personal favorites

  • Its futurepop (defined by VNV and Apoptygma Berzerk)

  • ^o)

maybe its weird by the fact that its not black metal ??????

that would be a logical answer ^-^

  • i doubt it, black metal is a satanic form of metal, i am a massive metal head, but this would make extremely wierd black metal...i luv all forms of industrial, and this is industrial, in its more trancelike form, but the whole genre is awesome, and started by MINISTRY!!!! (saw them on C U LaTour, they were epic)

  • No... started by throbbing gristle... they're where the term "industrial" came from... waaay back when.

  • dark trance, dark wave, and industrial are the three genres that vnv can be classified under.

you should listen to their newest album, it's a good one.

  • industrial? I object to that being used as such an umbrella genre. Industrial music is about experimentation with found sounds, samples and weird shit.

I like VNV but they're not an industrial band.

  • First of all their music rocks... It makes you feel like ur in one of those matrix revolution movies

  • Love the VnV's

  • Ah when they played this song live i wanted to cry, goes right into my heart! Thanks alot Znerky.

  • YW.

  • its EBM...

  • YW= your welcome.. btw I know what all this can be classified as, lol.

  • Your welcome =). Glad I could help.

  • Thank you thank you thank you!!!

    ^_^

    Sooo amazing....

This is my only connection to VNV when I'm not at home, thaaank you!!!

  • I went to their 1st US performance in L.A. in 99

  • Great sound, how come nobody knows them???

  • Wtf? They're friggin famous as Hell! You're just not in the right crowd. that's why they've never heard them. Try hanging with the Rivetheads and almost anyone gothic. We listen to industrial 24/7, or at least most of us. Especially cyber gothic people.

  • lol ya my best friend is a big Rivethead and as a result im more coldwave than a metalhead now VNV is great

  • Everybody does! *crazy abt VNV*
