Because no one has the statistics for how many crimes WEREN'T committed because of someones right to defend themselves bearing arms. It's a one sided thing. The cops get called and it gets documented when the crime actually happens. But to defend, do you want a gun, or a phone to call police?

Therefore, those other two guys were antagonizing him and he tried to get away, even courts would agree that pushing him wasn't assault, especially after the big truck guy committed assault with a deadly weapon (the truck he rammed his with).
