Hi guys. I love the video's speedy overview of things.
Could anyone suggest to me what core topics are in Calculus will be essential in Physics based calculus? I doubt very much a first year college course in physics utilizes all of calculus, but what particular calculus topics come up again and again? Thanks
@freeshyne1234 integral and derrivative... im a senior in highschool taking a college lvl physics class and its been 3 weeks of school adn the teacher already taught us integrals and derrivative
From No Knowledge to some idea in 5 minutes. Not too Shabby! We'll be watching ALL videos. You will be thanked when the engineering degree is in hand.
i have Repeats in Programming and Calculus. I'm not that good at math, but hopefully by the end of the month i'll be able to walk into that exam, and just get those marks i need =[
Calling dy/dx an noun and d/dx a verb i found very helpful. Also my teacher never told us about indeterminate forms. She just said that you can find a limit if you evaluate the function at the limit you are trying to find by doing algebra.
@lxdannydxl100 I took calculs about a year ago. I watched this video before I took the class, I ddint understand it too well, but I just watched it today aqnd it refreshed some of my memory of Calculus. I have to take calculus two this fall

Upon watching this I would have to surmise that this man knows exactly what he is talking about. However, I understood very little of what was said. And anyway this stuff is not often useful in real life. It only gives colleges an excuse to weed you out.
@mickey0667 There are practical uses for Calculus! Anyone who goes into physics, chemistry, economics, and engineering uses it. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Plus, it teaches you critical thinking and often just learning something like this has its later benefits.
You trolling? Calculus is EVERYWHERE! You might not need it personally day to day, but you can be damn sure your PC and mobile are doing it all the time!
youre right, i went through college without applying calculus I, but i needed to know it to get through calculus 2, calculus 3, and differential equations.
so in reality calculus is really important.
kinda like learning triangles, ovals, and hexagons in pre-school, but if you dont understand calculus correctly in a career that applies mathematics to some degree, then you sound and look like an utter moron.
@rorshachfan You never know. Professor Burger is trying to get a lot of information in a very short period of time and is speaking more quickly than he normally does because of it. This is a review at the beginning of our Calculus BC course.

@cadvendano Nope, this is actually a summary of Calculus AB that is found at the beginning of our Calculus BC course. We don't have a Calculus 3 course. :(
@accistset He is an amazing instructor. We love to share our lectures with our YouTube community. Our students love their professors so we figure everyone else will too!
@xHzDxKING I would recommend going in order. Just the other day I watched one of our pre-calculus lectures and it brings in things you would've learned in Trigonometry like the Pythagorean Theorem. @ThinkwellVids Thank you. I found the link. I'm sure that everyone who saw your video gained a lot more knowledge. Mathematics was never meant to be boring, and you proved that magnificently!!
I love this. I'm 23, never studied Math in college and was never taught Calculus in school! (Damn British school system.) I still don't know what I'm doing as I only really started a few days ago but if it can be explained in twenty minutes it can't be impossible.
Had a gpa of 4.3 aced mostly all of my classes, and now its gonna be 3.8 just because of this class lol. (lulz since math WAS my best subject.) As of now my grades are A, A, A, F (in cal.)
I'm not proficient in Math , however, I do know Sir Isac Newton invented Calculus. And for the most part he just did it in his spare time as part of a dare.
@ShipMonster I dunno where you got that from. Newton developed Calculus in a period of intense study at his home between 1664-1667. He did develop the gravitational laws because he was challenged to. That was much later though.
I've been struggling learning all of the stuff you explained in this video.. now I see it much more clearly.
I should have learned my vocabulary at an earlier time in my Calculus course... "instantaneous rate of change", "derivative", "secant/tangent lines", were things I could never keep straight.. for some reason.
Lately my Calculus teacher has assigned us some very difficult implicit differentiation problems... I need to study more
I'm taking Single Variable Calculus right now as a Junior in High School, and I must say it is much more difficult than any other math class I have taken. This video definitely sums it up very well though, although the course is much more in depth (obviously) and not as easy as this makes it seem.
@pwnshop1 Struggling in math doesn't mean you are incompetent. You may just need a good tutor to help you. Many folks use our online courses as tutors when they hit a road block in their studies. You should check out our website for more information!
@pwnshop1 Struggle on! It's a struggle for many of us at many different levels. I'm a math major about to graduate in May, and I promise you I struggle with math all the time. Right now I am studying for a big career-related test and having to re-learn calculus stuff I did 4 years ago... and I'm really struggling! Makes me feel dumb sometimes because I remember doing this stuff easily before. But we both just have to keep fighting and we'll get there. Try to find a tutor or a helpful friend.
hi thank you im studying in 2nd year civil engg. but didnot had the clear picture of whats going on until today thank you very much for all my life i have just tried to learn in order not to get failed so i tried to mug up now iknow what i was doing thank you very much
