Ron paul is a stupid, clueless, whining JACKASS !!! oh, and news flash Ron Paul - The world has changed since the constitution was written. I know that since you were there when they wrote it, you feel a little more attached...
There are some things i'm not too keen on that Ron Paul is for but compared to the competition Ron Paul is by far the greatest candidate out there who will make a lot of things right.
I would argue that voting for Ron Paul is the best way to campaign for Ron and the future, which is anti-statism. Cheers. Btw, the hair isn't what gets me. Is the shirt that I take issue with.
Then vote for Ron Paul if he is the gateway drug to anarchism. He got you there. Show him and your fellow peeps some love and vote RP! I bet you are not even registered as a Republican, making you ineligible to vote in the primaries. You are scared of Molyneux's collapse with no market to catch it. Then let the free market conversation continue with RP?
So basically you are up set because more people prefer another candidate
and that you agree with the mainstream media that Ron Paul can never be president....simply so the main stream media can hide they fact that Ron Paul brings up the real problem...which is the Federal Reserve....you would prefer me vote for a prettier candidate who is backed by the financial establishment that is raping you and your parents by devaluing the currency?
Kid, you have no idea what you are talking about. Did you actually say he is anti-statest? What the hell is a statest first off, second... how are you going to compliment a man you put down?
This is the first time I've viewed a video of yours and have disagreed. I think it's imperative to support and vote for Ron Paul. It would be a great step in the right direction.
I like what you're saying... but that hair cut.. grow it long, dread locks a mullet I don't care. You do not seems to be a douche bag so why do you have a douche bag hair cut. This boggles me.
@KIDiotequeA I understand where your coming from, and I do have to agree with you, but and keep in mind that my daughter is a beautician and I do spend some time hanging out at her shop ( I'm some what of a handyman and am remodeling the back room for he clients ) and universally I have come to learn that, that particular hair cut is chosen by people that express the douche bag traits. And like I said you do not seem to people one of those people. keep up the good work.
@KIDiotequeA I think taking down the state will only happen when we attack it from all points. that is the limitation of government it needs a way to pu the force out, how can we do this info terrorism( hacking into places and replacing dribble or cable tv with the truth), owning firearms, and of course taking the system down by the balls and electing Ron Paul!!!
Your assertions throughout the video seem contradictory. If you're advocating a transitional changeover, electing libertarian repeal/reform politicians is the means to achieving your ends. Voting for a candidate is not consent to statism, it is voting for a candidate within the already existing state system that will continue along its path unless changed (voting being one of the necessary means of change). It would only make sense for you to vote.
I disagree. If you vote for candidates that openly acknowledge a legitimate purpose for theft (wealth distribution/taxes), you are sanctioning the state.
In the same way, if you vote for a candidate that recognizes and condones preemptive war, you sanction those actions.
I thought I made this clear in the video. You may disagree on utilitarian grounds, but surely not in principle. I do not see the contradiction you allude to.
@KIDiotequeA What if you vote for candidates who do not (:the subject of the video?)? Is voting for someone who wants to dismantle the state, which will otherwise continue to exist, an endorsement of statism? Wouldn't that go against the desire to change it from within? If it is not changed from within via voting, how will it be changed? I'm not strictly utilitarian.
@KIDiotequeA You say you will not vote in principle, but also believe you can form coalitions with voters and within principle bring about change politically which is also against principle? And you say that voting to negate the state is within principle but voting isn't ever principled because it's an endorsement of statism?
It's like everything you say before about the 3:20 or so minute of the video is a completely different thought than the rest of the video, unless I'm missing something.
Now I see the error. I am not of the notion that all voting is categorically an endorsement of state.
Voting for Ron Paul, would be an endorsement of state, as he sees a legitimate purpose for taxation.
Hypothetically if someone like Rothbard were running on a platform expressly to dismantle the state, without allocating any tax funds in the process, etc...I would have no problem voting for him, nor would I be endorsing, or sanctioning the state.
I seriously suggest you read Ayn Rand (if you haven't already) to get a proper understanding of Libertarianism. It's philosophical roots lie in Objectivism, as espoused by Ms Rand. Ron Paul is a mere lightweight with very little to offer in comparison.
I've read much of Ayn Rand. I quite enjoy The FountainHead and Atlas Shrugged. I believe she elegantly captures the spirit of libertarianism in her fiction. In terms of cogent philosophy and economics, I believe Paul's works (though admittedly borrowing from the works of those that came before) are far more coherent and offer more in terms of education and applicable theory. Though, as they are both minarchists, I believe both Rand's and Paul's ideology to be contradictory.
I am amazed how people ignore Spooner's reasoning to this day. Do you pay taxes? Most likely yes. Why? Because you realize that if you don't some guys with guys could come and put you in prison or put debt on your family. Should you vote for someone better than Obama? Yes. Because if you don't Obama will remain President, causing you to abide with more laws than an alternative. By not voting, you're choosing to remain ignorant.
I'm not sure you want to go alot further than 6 months back. I disagree with alot of the content I've posted here. My views have changed quite a bit in the 5 years I've been posting videos.
when I think of Ron Paul becoming president, I think of throwing water on a grease fire. doesn't really matter though; people admire and crave authority too much for it to ever happen. bah, i'm just being a pessichist. best of luck, Paulitrons.
I'm a molyneux fan, but I always disagree with him on this and always have, there is a role for politics. This is an intellectual war, and in war you generally have to do things you normally wouldn't and running for office falls into that category.
@KIDiotequeA I know exactly where you're coming from but you know the hive mind of the public. The most popular wins. The sheep will only wake up when liberty is 'cool' and 'mainstream' which it is becoming thanks to Ron Paul, but will only be taken seriously once he is in the national debate vs Obama. I know where you are coming from like I said, I dont trust anyone including Ron Paul, but I want the people to wake up. You are the man and remind me of myself, keep going bro. Keep opening minds
@KIDiotequeA I really appreciate how respectful you are. Regardless of the different POV's, you don't show any hostility towards them like most do. Keep it up, love the videos.
Thanks much. I'll be the first to admit, its not always easy to remain civil when interacting with people on youtube. I try my best, and but do not always succeed.

Not voting for Ron Paul would just be a win for Romney or some other paid politician, instead of putting a principled libertarian on the main stage.

If you are a minarchist, or believe there is a valid purpose for government. Than Ron Paul is the best option.
If you are an anti statist or market anarchist, and believe it to be the utilitarian vote, than I would disagree as a matter of principle.
Voting against ones convictions for the lesser of evils is what got us in this mess in the first place.
I see there is room for debate, but I humbly disagree.
