I just had to tell you what an inspiration this video is to me. My baby has severe IUGR and is still too small to deliver (we're 26 weeks pregnant and he weighs less than 1 pound). They keep telling us they don't think he'll make it another week. I hope we can be so blessed to have such a miracle in our lives! Thank you for sharing your story.

It was and sometimes is rough still BUT he is worth it! What you can't do is dwell on the 'worst case scenarios' that the medical people will present. If you do, you will be a mess. There is always hope and the baby responds to positive energy. I tried not to do my crying at his side even in the NICU. I pray everything will be fine for 'Bub" - Jack's Dad
wow... this made me cry... my sister had a baby... 1 LB 1 oz, and he didn't make it... she was 24 weeks... we held him for 2 hours until his heartbeat stopped...

Jack has had 4 brain surgeries and open heart surgery but is doing very well. Don't ever give up hope, God can create miracles. The Drs. before Jack was born suggested aborting him. He is almost 2 and is a very happy baby! He smiles all the time!

He kept growing and growing and last year just before new years he began to walk all by himself skipping the stage of crawling. he now can say words like mom, dad, jacket, me and many other in spanish and is now a happy 17 month old baby that is walking around and is very energetic...the holes in him heart grew out and he hasnt needed a single surgery and is very healthy, lively, stong and intelligent
My close friend had a baby born August 14/2008 but it was supposto be born on November 16. He has tons of hole in his heart, and an extra tube in leading to his bladder and many many other serious problems...the docters didnt give her much hope and said that he would walk until 2 years old. the docters were going to to surgery on him becuase of his condition but once he was a bit older, to remove the extra tube leading to the bladder but they didnt have to do it...
i was born a premie. i was born august 4th 1989 i was supose to be born in december i was missing five months i wasnt suppose to live but i did. there were also complications i was born feet first the doctors told my parents that i might not live and that i might not be able to breath or even have lungs but i was breathing on my own but they put me in a incubator to make sure and i was on a respatory machine i came home in december a few days before x-mas im a miracle baby

on august 27,2007 i gave birth to my son alexander. he was born about 12 weeks early and weighted 2 pounds 7 and half ounces. he has had health problems due to him being born so early. but i would not trade him for the world. This is baby Jack's Dad, he had open heart surgery on 4/20/09 to repair his congential heart defect that Dr.'s said he probably wouldn't ever be big enough to have. He came through wonderfully, he is home without the need for additional oxygen. Jack is just shy of 14 lbs and is just beautiful. He is a happpy 13 month old. Thank you everyone for the support.

I was born 3 months early on November 15, 1989, and I have a friend who was born almost 4 months early in August of 1989 also. We actually were in the same hospital at the same time! But I just wanted to say that we are both in college now and we were preemies! So I'm not sure if that makes sense but I thought it might help for you to know for the future and that it gets better!

Yes, Jack now has two shunts, one of them draining two ventricles. It is a very rare, but working, configuration.
