No, Canon is not faster, both camera has the same shutter speed. it's just the difference of the way how those company count the number of flame in 1 second.

If you count maximum flames, it will be 10, but if you count the certain number of flames that will be made in every 1 second shooting, then it's gonna be 9. so Nikon guarantee 9 fps, Canon says it "can be" 10 fps, but not always.

How do you think, who is more honest to customers???

That's true - the Canon is faster. However, I have the 1D Mk IV and the D3S right now and for all practical purposes, there isn't any difference between 9 FPS and 10 FPS. There are almost no subjects where that extra frame is going to make a real difference.

Actually it's a bit slower than an AK-47, The AK-47 is designed to cycle 11% faster than this, ten times per second; more like a Canon 1D Mk III or IV.

It was the New Canon F-1 High Speed film camera of 1984. I guess it was designed for the Olympics of that year. It had fps settings of 1 Low 5 med 10 high 14 fps. They must have changed allot of film on that one. lol. Nikon had some amazing high speed film shooters as well. I think one of them was the modified F2.

In DX crop factor the D3 can shoot at 11, at FX size (full frame/35mm) it can shoot 11.

It shoots at two different speeds depending on whether it's in FX mode (Full Frame) or Cropped which I believe is DX; I believe max speed for the FX is 9fps, DX is either 11 or 12 can't remember off hand

lens and ISO.ISO covereage on the D3 is better than on the 1d mkIII and it handles the noise much better. The only thing the 1d mkIII has that the D3 doesn't is the 1 extra fps. and besides. if you're willing to shoot in DX mode it goes up to 11fps. The Canon is fantastic. no arguing with that. But the so is the D3 and I think it's better. it's more the photographer than the camera and if u really need that extra 1fps that much lol... banter aside... you got a website? you a member of BAJ?

I did have a website, although, despite watermarking my photographs my fellow students still took them and used them. so I cancelled it. I'm not a member of anything as I am too busy with studies and cant be arsed. photorgaphy is my job when not studying, hence why I say what I say. and by the same token, I am not arguing that the D3 is a bad camera.

I'm in exactly the same boat by the sounds of it... I'm a photographer studying a photojournalism degree. I used to photograph motor racing and boxing events along side my documentary work. Can't u just copywright your work? thats what I do. if other students tried using my work my university would boot them out and help me sue them lol. they are very strict about copywright etc. Where u studying?

You have to shoot from the right place at the right time. period. It's only about feelings & skills.

moreover, I know lot of young freelance co-worker, & coz of money they must use some "old" D2 or EOS 1D for their jobs.
