Everything goes right in this album.

The bass guitar and vocals by Nocturno Culto is absolutely haunting. Perfect!! And Fenriz and Zephyrous too have done an amazing job.

This album will stand out as one of the pioneers of black metal for generations.

I really don't understand why some people think this isn't good production. Sounds clear as fuck. I guess people don't like the particular distortion effect. I mean yeah some black metal may have (intentionally or not) bad production quality, but this is criiisp. I have a distortion pedal ( DOD Death Metal FX86B) that sounds extremely similar to the distortion effect in this song.

Totally, this song is a barely disguised "homage" to Bathory & uses "Enter the Eternal Fire" as the main blueprint. Everything from a title to the "entering hell" feel. This song brings back such good memories from 1993. This is not only the best Darkthrone album, but also one of the top 5 black metal albums that made almost everything released after this completely irrelevant.

Their first demo is amazing because of the low sound quality and it creates a very depressing doomy atmosphere, but in their full length album, it didnt have 2 much of that raw feeling. Bathory on the other hand was very inspired by Venom even though they would never admit it.

Both Bathory and Darkthrone is legend whatsoever.
