I think we agree that N&N works together and that both are essential as in who you turn out to be. My understanding of it is that we are born"clean/pure"(In a way that we havent been affected as much in a mental way yet) of course we are never totally pure, because we are affected by the envirement before we are born(the stomac and feelings of the mother is your envirement. What fascinates me is the degree to which Nature(genetics for example)can determine development and at what level the two(N&N)may merge or be(kind of)parallel.

Fresco has indeed been talking about this stuff for years and has made little headway so perhaps the reasons for his inability to succeed should be looked into.

It would take away all their power and sense of entertainment from watching humans suffer at their will. I am utterly amazed that he has lived so long without joining the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, etc... I believe the reason is that the elites know that most everyone is to busy screaming for Bieber.
How would you suggest anybody who wants to make the world a better place should go about it?
One practical idea I can think of is simply doing humanitarian work of some kind but sadly even the best efforts can be ruined by War,Greed and power.(which are usually root causes of the problem in the first place.
I think if anything like what Fresco suggests was to be implemented then it can only be done independently.
I would be interested to know ideas on how this might be achieved!

I've arrived at the same conclusions as Jaques from questioning things, observing/researching. From the monetary system to the psychology of people & corrupt values & goverment agendas. When a person studies the world around them without prejudice, without ignorance or anger or opinion but approaches to learn, they can only arrive at the same as Jaques. I was more(kind of)wondering about what would happen if his ideas were ever one day properly implemented and all of the logistic issues were then therefor addressed.
How would he suggest dealing with some of the mentally ill & those with personality disorders(Psychotics/Socio-Psychopaths and the suchlike.)

There are so many ways of different therapies, maybe with some drugs, maybe some shaman spritual trip to regain your inner calm . I don t know. But i think that someone with much more knowledge in medicine could discover some new way od helping those ppl. Anyway maybe genetic engineering would solve the problem of some of those mental illness. The rest of them would be cured naturally in such calm and loving society

A lot of people agree that the childhood/enwirement counts for like 70% to90% and nurture counts for 30% to 10% (and when I say "counts for" i think about the reason for the behavior) Of course some people have mental and physical problems and it is due to the genes. Both counts and "work together"

Just to(in my own little way)address the old NATURE vs NURTURE thing....well all I can honestly say is that both are obviously highly relevant and hugely significant & it is certainly NOT one over the other!(this will be clear to anybody with any kind of grasp of the principals of logic!)
Genetics do tend to pour light on some aspects of the nature aspect of the question & Psychology obviously explains(in some part)what the nurture side deals with.

I think we agree that N&N works together and that both are essential as in who you turn out to be. My understanding of it is that we are born"clean/pure"(In a way that we havent been affected as much in a mental way yet) of course we are never totally pure, because we are affected by the envirement before we are born(the stomac and feelings of the mother is your envirement. Nurture is somewhat of a no brainer,as it obviously can and does have a huge amount of developmental effect in humans(and no doubt other species.)
What fascinates me is the degree to which Nature(genetics for example)can determine development and at what level the two(N&N)may merge or be(kind of)parallel.
I should point out that anybody with say a genetic illness of some kind(be this physical or mental)may need a different kind of nurture in order to optimize their overall happiness.

However, the point with Fresco is that you will be able to without the limitations of the amount of money and its uses in the current economic system. I hate to say it but thinking for yourself won't bring about peace. Following others as an influence is good, but not as a fanatic (which I agree with you).

@magicdarragh One of my backgrounds is also in engineering so i see the relevance of structure and the humanistic perspective. I agree with a lot of what Jacques is saying but tend to have hesitation on manipulating the human consciousness intentionally. I believe power can corrupt and unless humans are being managed by programs then emotion can breed destruction and envy.

I understand what you mean though - it's certainly not an easy task! I'm not sure if power necessarily corrupts... Will these theories leave room for others to visualize their dreams? Imagination is important for individual development. Will there be room for more than one visionary? These would be concerns. Jacques vision sounds nice, but i believe there is still thin lines that do not take in account of people differences and natural born gifts. A society of engineers and scientist do not leave a lot of room for individual expression in the society of arts. Every systems has governance, hence GOVT.

Society is run on an egalitarian, humanistic perspective whereby resources are allocated indescriminately according to human needs and the earth's capacities. This is where I lose this guy. They think that the environment around us is what causes us to do bad things. This is true. But they think that if you take that environment away, people wont do bad things. This I don't believe. By nature, we have emotions, personality's, some good, but some are bad. No matter where they are in society. I'm a realist. There will always be bad people no matter what society you put people in. Now how many will there be? I don't know, not a lot I'm guessing.

The concern is to create an environment most conducive to meet human needs. A system of operation which is not politically corruptable, violent, exclusive, etc but rather distributively equal with regards oppertunity, justice, material and social access etc. It won't be perfect- guaranteed -but it will be the best it can be

How would you suggest anybody who wants to make the world a better place should go about it?
One practical idea I can think of is simply doing humanitarian work of some kind but sadly even the best efforts can be ruined by War,Greed and power.(which are usually root causes of the problem in the first place.
I think if anything like what Fresco suggests was to be implemented then it can only be done independently.
I would be interested to know ideas on how this might be achieved!

@RandomVortex I believe that Mr. Fresco has clearly pointed out that most of the Humanitarian efforts are almost pointless, because we are not changing the SOURCE of the problem, which the source is the unsustainable, now unpractical monetary system. Yes, absolutely, the system Mr. Fresco suggests can only be done and can be started in Rural Areas, it has to be a grassroots movement. So does Jacque Fresco think we need to abolish all Esoteric & Occult knowledge in the world...because 'Science' is the way? Science has forgotten Hermetics and the study of the internal worlds. Its another form of fundamentalism and conditioning. Newton & the oldboys were Hermeticists...same goes for John Dee (A Master Magician/Alchemist/Scientist). These guys KNOW the mysteries are true and simple, 'when yer dad, that's it', stock-phrasing is as uninforming as 'you will burn in hell if you sin'

@OHollowTimes Sorry TYPO 'when yer DEAD, that's it'. Personally, my value system is based on the energies that permeate after death as well as a fulfilling knowing of life eternal. Science can be a painfully dull and castrating condition, yet, I put more stock in it than I do say Christianity. It is my opinion that there are some hidden truths in all Religions, but most of it is the organizing of mass neuroses into a dogmatic way of life. The Occult Sciences are equal to Mainstream Sciences.

Jacque fresco is rite. People are not good or bad. they are simply products of what their enviroment has conditioned them to be. If your society suffers from scarcity of resources, it is certainly going to promote greed and other corrupt behavior. The same can be said about the monetary system. Money rewards people to act deceitfully towards others. It simply doesn't pay to be ethical and honest. The resource based economy is the fairest system possible. it gives everyone equal opportunitty.

@yllierutube I agree with most of Frescos's methods & information, however, I'm weary of Dawkins type science fanaticism. It simply isn't enough for me to be settled on. The whole Venus Project, let technology & sciences lead is amazing as is the understanding of behaviour altering ones life, determined by environment. The one key thing that science demonstrates is that it is possible to cultivate the illusion that we are able to hold our certitude of 'facts' & information for extensive periods.

But rarely do people even get the opportunity to overcome the situations their enviroment puts them in. But it is most likely for a person to be a product of their enviroment. Look at a ghetto for example. Anyone who is born in a community of poor/uneducated is most like going to grow the same way, enless somehow an opportunity emerges for them to overcome those circumstances.
