@jbi10 Only about 20% of a clutch will produce supers, if any at all. At worst, you'll just end up producing more pastels.

@coolpunk100 i think when you breed a super to a super you get 50% super than 50% of w.e the original morph was so in this case you would get 50% super pastels and 50% pastels.

The super pastel is certainly beautiful, however I think the appeal for them (and definately the price) would decrease if they became more common in households. A large part of the appeal for me, aside from its obvious beauty, is the rariety.

Hey Justin I just wanted to know what my outcome would be if i bred a ghost male to my super pastel female? would i get only pastel ghosts? whats the chances of getting the super pastel ghost?

You would produce all Pastel 100% het Ghosts, you would need to breed one of these offspring to another pastel het ghost to make the super pastel ghost (odds would be 1/16)

hey, my ball python is only about, roughly,  1 year and 7 months old..and shes Eating a good 2 rat pups every week, is this too much for her? i dont want her to like break a rib because shes growing too fast, it seems like shes growing allot

any input?

No you are not feeding too much. Most of my 1.5 yr old balls are eating small rats. If you send me a private message with her size or weight, I could probably give you a more specific idea of what she would take.

There are a couple mutations that are genetically weak. That is apparent from birth though. Otherwise I would say that 95% of the bp mutations are equally hearty compared to normals.

Really though, the jury is out, because most these mutations have not been around long enough to have any idea what their lifespan is.

I want a superpastel, or a high contrast albino, the only problem with albino is i dont know if it stays like that or if it gets lighter over time. I like the real bright orange yellow of it.

What are the price ranges of the two?

Price ranges vary a lot. A good, high contrast albino will look pretty orange into adulthood. There is a lot of variation with them and selective breeding is a BIG factor.

The price varies, right now you can definitely get a pair in the $200-250 range.

If you breed pastel x pastel you will get

25% super pastel

50% pastels

25% normals

Hi, How long do the Pastels/Super Pastels keep their brightness for? I have heard some people say they dull out after 18mths --2 yrs.

Most will become less vibrant as they age. Every so often there will be one that seems to get even brighter with age, at least for the first few years.
