Yes I've been in a band for the last 7-8 years.. and in my opinion, Incubus has got to a point where no other band can play their songs without sounding like an amateur.. Come to think of it, pre-CLOTM songs are all playable and singable by any good singers.. we used to play all their old songs but now, hmmmmm... you know what i mean.. ;)

So far the last 3 Incubus Albums have been nothing but Punk Industrial Rock,as long as they have Ben Kenny as a bass player they will not make incredible tunes like they did back in the late 90's and in this early millenium like Morning View.PUHLEEASEE do you guys really think they are gona come up with tunes like "Are you In?" or "Deep Inside"? wow people need to start lookin' into the music and the originality of this band.. BUT reguardless, Incubus is 1 of my top 3 favorite bands.

do you really think the band would let a unknown bass player waltz in and change everything? I don't think so, It was publicized that this is why Dirk was told to leave, as He didnot want to evolve. Why is Ben Better? Okay. Ben writes his own bass lines for a start where as mike wrote Dirks(another publicized reason). Ben can play a variety of styles, with pick, fingers and he has now added slap. He improvises live everytime, changes and improves his bass lines as ease, Dirk never done this.

Dude you are gonna have to watch the AT&T Acoustic Series Show they did, and it will show you what kind of bass player Dirk Lance was, if you think he can't improv nor wrote his own bass lines... hahaha...he improvised outta nowhere when Jose starts doin' this fast paced classic beat on the drums and he comes in with this sick random jazz bass line...apparently those shows show how a musician performs and take out their true identity.

I did noticed the click track ear-phones on him lol almost all drummers have that as well when playing at shows.

MaartenIB I personally think that RHCP are better then Incubus, and is not really because of the musical taste, and you know it, they have been out longer and have a way and I mean, way better drummer and bass layer including guitarrist than incubus... singing I can't say because not everyone is ment to have a good voice, although Anthony Keidis, has a rare voice that you dont hear on singers now days, Chad and Flea are really technical in music, and you can obviously tell when preforming live.

@OyolaFunk. Once again, it's all about musical taste! Period. Incubus has a voice of their own (who plays stuff like Rogues/Pistola/Glass/etc. in mainstream environment?) and so does RHCP. The only thing that you can't ignore is that Boyd excells Kiedis (on a TECHNICAL level). A monkey could hear it. But then again, Kiedis never planned on singing so what difference does it make? As a band, they are both passionate about their work and it's the songs that matter, not the technique.

Yo I'm trippin' lol when "make yourself" and "californication"came out in the same year, it did not take a genious to figure out what Incubus sounded like. Auto' destortionized like 311 not to menssion another band with a DJ after Limp Bizkit des' as well.The RHCP sounded like no one and still,up till now,no one.Pistola is punk rock a lot of bands play style, Glass obviously funk metal created by 311 not hard to notice when guitar is a main focus. Why be passionate if theres no originality?
