  • Divine.

  • Defend the christian Europe before it is too late and we all perish in flames !!!

  • piękno

  • Beautiful! Almost has a Russian Orthodox sound to it.

  • Angelic Glory runs right throughout this hymn. God Bless those who hear this and its spiritual edification and may the prayers of St Thomas Aquinas be with the faithful.

  • przy Ensemble Organum najlepiej zamknąć oczy i cofać się w czasie...

  • Just bello, bello just as heaven intended. I wish I lived in the time of St Thomas Aquinas just to hear him and his brothers singing it.

  • Those guies are perfectly in tune! That's the longest amen I've ever heard!

Does anyone out there know anything about this composer, what century he lived in, etc?

  • @LouisvilleTorn8o I think it was written by a certain Anonymous... :)

  • @eref2000

    Haha, Hail Anonymous!

Perhaps they should make a statue of Anonymous...

  • @DeHeld8 Correction to eref2000, the author is known. He is St. Thomas Aquinas, a reknowned doctor of the Church.

  • @Killermuffin1

Well the original question was, who is the composer, which usually means "who wrote this music"?

So Anonymous is right - or Traditional Corsican to give him his full name :D

The text is, of course, the last two verses of "Pange Lingua" - Dr Tom Aquinas...

  • @LouisvilleTorn8o It was written by the famed St. Thomas Aquinas in the thirteenth century.

  • this is a great song. I wish it was on itunes. The amen alone takes almost a minute, and most of that is just the first syllable.

  • Heavenly music indeed. The Ensemble Organum and the Hilliard Ensamble under Paul Hilliermay be some of the finest performers of this music.

For those of you looking for sheet music, I found this Website: organum-cirma.fr/organum-cirma - Under "Publications" on the right hand side the Ensemble Organum provide the very scores they use, beautifully printed as well.

    God bless all!

  • Ce chant prend aux tripes.

    Epoustouflant.

  • omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg

  • Amen.

  • I only have a printed copy of the music sheet. If you are interested I can send it by mail. It only needs to be scanned

  • who can help me find the music sheet for this piece please?

    I would be very grateful

    Laura

  • grazie a 'tantum ergo' ensemble! :)

  • Can anyone tell me where I can find the sheet music for this? Thanks in advance.

  • @SpartanMan80 I wrote it down. Send me your email and I will send it to you.

  • @felipearodriguezb Hi felipe I would love to see your rendition of this! b2sargent gmail

  • Beautiful

  • EXQUISITE

  • this is incredible! Im speechless!

St Thomas Aquinas is a Genius

  • @benjaminz6

    did Aquinas write the words?

  • @irgy709 yes,

  • "Tantum Ergo Sacramentum," while usually treated as a hymn of its own, is actually the final two verses of the "Pange Lingua Gloriosi," a Eucharistic hymn that was composed by St. Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi.

  • I love this style of chant,

probably the best version of Tantum Ergo

I will pray that this style of chanting is restored in the Roman Church

  • Doskonałe!!

  • Now I know how it sounds in heaven when the angels praise God
