the earth's core does rotate independantly of the rest of the planet, and it is this difference in rotational speed that induces our magnetosphere

there is no way the earth can ever stop spinning & begin to rotate in the opposite direction, but seeing the solid inner core is suspended in a liquid outer core, it is very easy for the inner core to flip and rotate in the opposite direction

even so, magnetic pole reversal will do nothing except upset the guidanced systems of migratory animals

@ritasimmons36 If these events were going to occur in 2012, then yes we would be seeing a greater frequency and magnitude of these catastrophic events. Through my ongoing research, I have concluded these events are coming, but are not related to the year 2012. In fact, I speak often about how 2012 will become the greatest none event in history. I have not yet published a video on the Timeline updates, but I have written and posted on FB and our websites.

at the center of every galaxy lays a super massive black hole.. this black hole which is by far larger than any other known black holes and is what holds together the cluster of stars that make up the galaxy.. this massive black whole is generally flat (as u can see with the shape of the galaxy).. on 2012 our solar system will pass the flat outter edge of the galaxy where the gravitational forces are strongest and from there only god knows what comes next..

Last statement that you threw out the theory that the earths crust and core could rotate independent of each other stopped my rotation ! Why would a comet or asteroid impact striking the earths crust at an angle not spin the floating, thin light crust ? Considering the crust is only an average of 30 miles thick and the diameter of earth is almost 8,000 miles , , factor in that the heavy molten material, like metals are in this core and by far the most dominant factor is the core.

It is factually incorrect to claim that this solar system will pass through the galactic central disc in 2012.

What is true is that the Earth, the Sun and the centre of the Galaxy will be in a straight line on 22/12/2012 but, and this is a big but, it won't have any grave consequences as a result. Nothing significant will happen astronomically that will impact negatively, in a direct sense, on Earth then BECAUSE of that alignment.

As I listen to this I had one thing come to mind. The earth has an equator and something as simple a the direction of spin of toilet water is opposite below the equator. Well what if the same forces are in effect for the galaxy for planet rotation. Meaning when we pass the galactic equator it will cause the Earth to start to rotate in the opposite direction.

Contrary to what most school kids say when they decry "I don't NEED math"... EVERYTHING is mathematics. Everything! The earth's position on the galactic equator is just PART of the equation - an equation that includes the influence of the sun, our own gravity, and our collective orbits and rotations. These are all numeric influences that are part of the entire equation. The only ANSWER is when someone can correctly calculate the sum of mathematical influences at the same time. A moving target.

A better question might be: how long is Earth affected while passing the galactic equator? From all references to such an event, it is probable that Earth will be affected before, during and after reaching the equator. Some accounts state that the major affects may only occur during a short duration of a few weeks before and after while some large events could occur up to 6 months before and after. Most everyone agrees that events will accelerate before and decelerate after.

If we pass the galactic equator ever 25000 years, then that would have nothing to do with the ice age.

Of course the solar system ACTUALLY takes about 65 million years to do one bob up or down of the galactic plane. What happens every 25000 years is the procession of the equinox's. Or the great year as its called.

Some theorise that the sun does one orbit with its twin star, and thats what causes the wobble in earths rotation. Binary systems are actually quite common.
