I wonder if this is one of the B-70s we had working with us on Base a few years ago when we were expanding the port? A lot of them still had 12V71 Detroits in them and man did they scream! , they sounded like a racecar going at full tilt whenever theyd blow by (at 20 miles an hour).
Hard to believe the old B-70 monsters are still going after 40 years of brutal work - they sure dont owe anyone any money.
Great video, Ill bet that you know Pam S. who pilots also.
These guys do one heck of a job the road is muddy full of pot holes and bumpy it is Alaska still raw my husband is with Alaska west express the brotherhood that truckers have on the haul road is family they watch each others back no matter who they drive for awesome ALaskan truckers
My husband was in the lead truck and he says no one was pulling there. The truck with the belly dump on it wouldn't be pulling, and if you see something at the 52 second mark, maybe it's from the low quality of video, but there was no pulling equipment.
@hvyhau8272 The second truck was using his drive axles to help with traction and pushing power, they don't need to steer with it, and the lifting of the steer axle takes some resistance away and makes turning easier.
@WesternStar4900SA That's just an optical illusion, the steer axle is on the ground and the wheels are turning, just like sometimes it will appear as if the wheels are turning backwards.
I'll give you the low quality video and agree with you. I watched it again and noticed a push plate on the front of the second truck. I think the video just shows the tires on the second truck as not turning for some reason. Must be one of those glitches.
@hvyhau8272 i think what you might be seeing is the steer axle of the push truck is not actually on the ground. ive seen it on another video on here somewhere where the push truck only has the drive on the ground and the driver has no need to steer. maybe wrong but thats what i seen on a different video.
so they run in the summer did not know that I guess show is filmes in winter cause it is dangerous.

Trucks are dirty. OBTW, these truckers are lazy. Just sit there and push the gas. Wow, really tough.
surferaw949 8 months ago
@surferaw949 Trucks are dirty? Of course they are, you try and keep one clean running on what looks to have been wet gravel...
If you think it's just sitting there and pushing the gas, I suggest you go and try it... It ain't that simple.

@hammyman2014 ignorant comment. this road is 400 miles of dirt. Waste of time to keep the trucks clean
operadood 1 year ago
@hammyman2014 most of this road is dirt/gravel, so it can be muddy in the summer. How do expect a clean truck to *stay* clean?
