This is horrible. A lot of the rhyme schemes are off. The syllable counts don't match up. The wording is simplistic and unimaginative. You think someone could have tried a little harder when writing a song for god.

Go to him if you have an issue with this song. This song has touched many lives. So something must be right. :)
