i think the british version of 8 ball is quite interesting, with different challenges being posed by the snooker shaped pockets, but i think the 2 visit rule is silly, esp at this level - they should just do ball in hand after a scratch, in the kitchen after the break, etc

English 8-ball is 2 shots every foul including the 8 ball. Every shot unless potted has to hit the cushion after contact at least once, whether its the white ball or the coloured balls. if the white ball goes in off the break its only one shot. If the white is sunk while playing the 8 ball its just a foul. If black ball goes in and the white its game over. We also have foul snookers which is ball behind the baulk line and total snookers.

@JG20Productions Look at the world rules on epa.org.uk before you say people don't know what they are talking about. I am going to be playing for Northern Ireland u21s in this world championships in the summer in Brighton and play on the irish 8 ball tour. I know what I am talking about.

Off the break if the white goes in, it is one shot. If not off the break it is 2 shots which carry.

An object ball or the white has to hit a cushion after a legal ball has been hit. Ciao.
