  • Feels bad man :(

  • I like this betrayal the best, avitus has an actual dilemma rather than just falling for power.

  • I assume this means that it is fixed for Avitus to turn heretic. Someone please reply if not so

  • @shrukain9 Anyone has chance to turn heretic, depending on how you play their corruption. It's also possible, that nobody turned heretic if you kept them pure. Although AFAIK, the canon story according to the next expansion (Retribution) is that Avitus turned heretic.

  • Avitus feared his dark deeds that he did during the Kronus war. He wanted all of it to lies so that he could forgive himself. Blind fool. May he find peace where ever he is going.

  • I feel like avitus alone understands the universe they live in.

  • Whant is the music in this?

  • I got Martellus as traitor cause i had all squads uncorrupted.

Only watch this cause i am too lazy to replay Chaos rising and according to Dow2 Retribution this is the real ending :P

  • So what happens if your entire squad turns chaos? Iplayed the campaign and never got above 2-3 corruption haha

  • @DavidtheDuke You defect to the Black Legion and flee into the Eye of Terror.

  • @acebars Heresy.

  • I don't see how "honour of the blood ravens" terminator armour is any good. You just lose avitus the major damage dealer.

  • Truth is a LIE!

  • Truth is a LIE!!

  • This is one of the most epic moment's in gaming i've seen. Great voice acting and music fits this movie perfectly.

  • @acebars what are you, a bieber fan?

  • @hakeador4000 Don't know who bieber even is.

  • Deal with them...

  • Avitus :"Yes, the holiest of the chapter relics in the hands of a loathsome betrayer."

Tarkus :"Then what is FC wearing?"

Avitus : "The one you guys hijacked from the other chapters!"

  • Fate is a lie!

    Truth is a lie!

    The cake is a lie!!

  • can you change traitors?? wtf how

  • @MoneyR8 whichever squad has the highest corruption is the traitor, but Avitus' betrayal is canon. if none of your squads are corrupt then martellus will be the traitor

  • I feel bad, because I actually kinda liked Avitus... I prefer heavy weapons.

  • @Sluggable In Chaos Rising, Thule is superior to Avitus. You're better off using Jonah in Avitus's place; he's very powerful.

  • Ice baby Ice...

  • according to the official canon, avitus is the true traitor

  • Comment removed

  • Jeez that has got to be the best ending I've seen

  • This is the best ending of all possible, most dramatic somehow and most fitting...and it seems it is the chosen ending in the story.

  • "TRUTH IS A LIE!" how?

  • @graydragon117 He means the Emperor's truth...

  • we laugh and boast about the eternal never ending war in 40k, but that poor sod has a point, and to hear it from a Space Marine....

  • The relics on Kronus revealed that the Blood Ravens have strong links to a Space Marine chapter that sided with the forces of chaos (thousand sons) this looks very bad on the chapter and they could very much be purged if the inquisition suspects them of chaos.

This is why the blood ravens had to destroy the imperial guard on kronus.

  • The depressing thing is that Tarkus has the most tragic of the betrayals and is the only one who feels any remorse about putting down Avitus. Conversely, Avitus just calls him pathetic.

Tarkus is the most 'human' of the Blood Ravens.

  • so this is the real one right how the plot really went

  • @caos1925 yes avitus is the only possibilty

  • @0:28 Avitus:Hello Brothers.I know your out there CUMMING for me

  • According to Retribution, Avitus' betrayal is the canon one, hence the fact that it was the most well made one.

  • This mission was the most emotional of them all for me. Avitus was an interesting case- a Space Marine who'd actually been broken by war and all the trauma. It seems ironic that the cynic of the bunch turned out to be the most human- to me, anyway.

  • in my opinion, this is definitely the most plausible and awesome of the betrayals

  • FAITH IS A LIE!

    TRUTH IS A LIE!

    CAKE IS A LIE!

  • @vodkin38 !(Truth is a lie!)It's a paradox, there is no answer!

  • @1337ijs Truth is a lie, and that's the truth!

  • Suicide by battle brother.

Second best betrayal, Isador gets number one still.

  • @names04 Am I the only one who felt bad for Lord Bale in DOW? I mean, yes, he WAS incompetent and yes he WAS very weak-willed because he could never come to a decision without consulting Sindri first, but the way he relied on the sorcerer's advice was actually rather touching in my opinion. Sindri had maneuvered Bale to a point of no return by the time even Bale realised that the Blood Ravens problem was outgrowing him, but still couldn't find it within himself to make a decision without Sindri.

  • "Are you really this incompetent?"

Yeah, like you are any better, Avitus. You're not perticulary sneaky either...

  • Avitus: Geeett Baack!!

Jonah: I am already in motion!!

  • @ACDelta LOLLLL XD

  • @ACDelta You pissed me off!

  • ok, so who in te cannon really did wall to choas in this battle?

normally its martellus if now one else is corrupted, butwhat about in the cannon?

  • @IceHarmony In canon it was Avitus who went Chaos-nuts. Tarkus was the one who killed him.

  • @IceHarmony Avitus. When Tarkus reveals himself in Retribution, he mentions that the one who served with him on Kronus (the only one's who did were Thule, Tarkus, and Avitus), betrayed him and he killed him.

  • "Truth is a lie!"

    Deep.

  • "There is nothing else in this forsaken existence..."

    5:25 ...except phat epic lewtz,lol

  • "Blood is shed as it has always been. There is nothing else in this forsaken existence."

    This... is true.

  • how much must he be corupted to betray me? I dont want Martellus to die (I like Tech Marines, they are Geeks of W40K=D) and so i want to corupt avitus (or Cyrus eventualy). How much corupted they must be to betray me instead of Martellus?

  • @lihkan they must be the most corrupt, or no corruption if you want the techmarine betrayal

  • This is absolutely one of the most emotional scenes in the whole W40K franchise. I was getting tired of the good old 'Space marine falls to Chaos because he wants the power to do good' storyline. Avitus just falls because he couldn't take it anymore. He saw bloodshed, pain, massacres of the innocents (in which he participated as well) and he couldn't see an end to it. The bleak hopelessness of the 40k universe broke him and made him suicidal. Poor bloke =(. I truly feel for the guy.

  • Dialogue is fantastic and goes insanely well with the music.

I simply can't get tired of this video and i commend you on a fantastic job !!!

  • Wow... the dialogue was actually really good...

This is probably the only point in the game when Avitus opened his gob that didn't make me want to immediately send him alone into enemy fire.

  • Wow, I think that was the most...emotional cutscene since the very first space marines campaign in DOW1 with Gabriel killing the librarian,

  • Guys can anyone tell me the order that Warhammer games went out? From Dawn of war 2 and then. Thanks :)

  • @EllasFTW

    Dawn of War 1

Dawn of War 1: Winter Assault

Dawn of War 1: Dark Crusade

    Dawn of War 1: Soulstorm

    Dawn of War 2

Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising

    Dawn of War 2: Retribution

  • @Crealtos And what about last stand?

  • @EllasFTW

The Last Stand is just a game mode for Dawn of War 2. If you want the full access, you need to buy Retribution. The single product of only Last Stand came after Retribution I believe.

  • By the storyline, this is the betray that actually happened. It's a shame, I liked Avitus =x

  • Avitus disliked the video!

  • @Crappy1441 I had no idea that there was internet access in the warp

  • thank you for loading this Dick

  • So Avitus is the canonical traitor.... Well at least it wasn't the black man this time. Cha ching! :XD

  • He fell becouse of the vile deeds at victory bay.

  • So what exactly happened in the Kronus campaign? What does Captain Thule mean when he says that he will never tell of the secrets of Kronus?

  • @bigbad1000do7a well in this avatus says victory bay the imperial gaurd base kinda area and chapter master kyrus show avatus all the dead bodies of the gaurd and tolled him secrets of chaos.something like that

  • @bigbad1000do7a That other guy was only partially right. The Kronus campaign was significant for the Blood Ravens because there was sensitive information regarding their founding there. They captured all of it and stored it away, probably with Kyras, in order to avoid being labeled heretics by the rest of the Imperium, which is why they made up excuses to get rid of the Guard forces in Victory bay. Most of the Marines were not told of it and Thule was guilt ridden. Thats what he refers to.

  • @Nebulahawk nice, that puts some of the story into perspective. thanks

  • Avitus was one of my personal favourite and the best soldier I've ever commanded. Permanently gone.... and in retribution what happened to Thaddeus and Thule?

  • @Reephamike Their both hinding together with the capt of the 4fth company

  • @Reephamike Well in Retribution if you play the chaos campain you kill off Thule on the first missing but thaddeus is just not in it at all

  • @Ratris Ah thanks...

  • I'll give you up to speed on Sergeant Avitus in his Terminator Armor, from my artistic point of view, he's a 40K version of AVATAR's Colonel Miles Quaritch in his Robot Suit. in my opinion, both of them have one thing in common, They're warmongering psychopaths with one instinct in mind: "MAIM KILL BURN MAIM KILL BURN!"

  • Great voice acting at the end

  • In retribution, which Betrayal is Canon? I can't seem to figure it out.

  • @Hidan237 Avitus is the canon betrayer.

  • Tarkus disliked this video.

  • Teh while other guys betrayed the chapter Avitus was the first one to tear into them with his "Time to die traitor, don't lie to me traitor, save your breath traitor" shit. But when it came to his betrayal he whined like a green IG recruit pussy in a boot camp... What's wrong now you IG hating moron - can't bring up a good enough explanation?

  • AVITUS: Truth is a Lie!

WHEATLY: Um...true, I'll go with true...huh, that was easy. I'll be honest, I might have heard that one before though...sort of cheating.

  • what is the two songs used in this video? (you should really put them in the description like your DoW 1 videos)

  • @gtgoskate Steamboy - 16 - Collapse and Rescue

  • @BigDickCheney Danke

  • @BigDickCheney

yo Cheney, not to sound demanding but you should get permission from the creators or these musics you used for Avitus betrayal and Tarkus betrayal to make music mods for retribution changing out the lame songs of the Imperial Guard with those two.

  • 5:10

In the grim dark future of the forty-first millenium...

  • Answer me this, my brothers, since Lexicanum cannot. I once heard that the rank of Force Commander is awarded to the most senior Space Marine Captain in the event of a campaign requiring multiple Space Marine companies. Is this true, or have I been deceived?

  • @KonElFan i dont think its the most senior(thule was young when he commanded on kronus, dow 2 fc is also young),but rather the guy whom the chapter sees fit in that situation.

  • "TRUTH IS A LIE!"

    ... wat?

  • @Tarik360 He is trying to say that everything they think to be true is a lie that serves the imperium

  • @atechpriest Aha, I see.

  • @Tarik360 what he means is the truth the Imperium said are lies, most of them, but that doesn't mean the Chaos truth is true though.

  • Avitus: Get back!

Jonah: I am already in motion.

Avitus: This is all that remains, blood and fury!

Jonah: Answer their attacks with holy fury!

Avitus: Faith is a lie! Truth is a lie!

Cyrus: Nothing distracts me from my target.

Tarkus: Your death well weigh on my soul Avitus, as will your folly [then takes a vow of silence soon after]

  • Is there a "canonical" traitor?

  • @smudgethekat Avitus is the canonical traitor.

  • Avitus is gun-psycho, No really he is Insane in da membrane, ya dig?

  • I still keep hearing "Bloody shit!" instead of "Blood is shed" when Avitus lies dying...

  • I fucking hate Chaos, they just infiltrate and corrupt the heart of our great warrior

  • @theraynor1995

No, the Emperor and the Imperium does that to its own. Those like Avitus that are branded traitors are merely those with an open mind to the truth of things, who have lost all hope and realized that the Emperor doesn't care at all for his mindless, brainwashed puppets.

  • @Andreazor yeah, I guess you're right about Avitus, but I can't agree about the Emperor though, if he does not care about his servants, all ships and souls that interact with the warp will be lost the the Dark Gods

  • @theraynor1995

They are his servants, and he needs them to survive. That's all they are to him.

  • Remember: Truth is a Lie.

  • "Spare us your empty platitudes. It matters not who lives or dies. Blood is shed as it has always been. There is nothing else in this forsaken existence."

Indeed the best betrayal by far(even though I like the one of Jonas as well)

What's the song used in the background?

  • @ThaSprout An accurate description of the Warhammer universe :)

  • Avitus voted this video down from the warp.

  • My favorite betrayal ...Makes me sad :(

  • Even though its cannon that Avitus is a traitor, Devastators are still my favorite squad to use.

  • Given what is said in Retribution, Avitus is the canonical traitor.

  • Avitus dislike this video.

  • Almost moving! No, it IS moving. Great voice acting. I knew about this being canon, when I played, and had Avitus more corrupt than anyone. But i still got Martellus.

Thank you for uploading this video, BDCheney!

  • What to do you have to do to make Avitus a traidor?. I want to end chaos rising corrupted with avitus betrayal , so now Retribution will make sense. I dont want tarkus as a Traitor because it will not make sense in retribution.

Someone answer me pls. Thnx :)

  • @JoAxInJoKeR The Squad with the highest level of Corruption become the Traitor. If you are full pure,Martellus is the Traitor.so You must give him corrupt Equip and take him at every mission with Corruption missions.

  • @Donnerbalken28 Bullshit. On 1st walktrough i got Tarkus to be traitor even thou he was pure and i had Cyrus with some corruption points . On 2nd walktrough i tryed to prevent tarkus becoming traitor so i puted on him all reedeming items i got AND STILL HE BETRYED

  • His last words portrait well how desperate and gloom the universe is (both in the Warhammer universe and the real world)

  • whats the soundtrack to this mission at 1:40?

  • R:I:P avitus

  • Is Avitus the traitor in retribution cuz it said tarkus (the ancient) served on kronus with him and thaddeus and FC didnt serve on kronus

  • @darkpyro75 yes

  • Comment removed

  • for me,avitus isnt a betrayer.he just wants himself to kill, because he couldnt see for longer what the chapter do for the dark gods.sad ending...but better than martellus

  • Couldn't think of a better canon betrayal.

  • @TheFoilGuy Martellus was more beliebable in my book being gone for a year & left for dead. Him still trying to decrypt the messages is the only thing that smacks said betrayal on the ass.

  • @FierceBirdOfFlame That's what I thought at first too, but Retribution says otherwise.

  • How this could have sucked:

Avitus: "I know you are out there, come at me bro!"

  • And then...the dead will come for you as well

  • Is it just me, or are Avitus and Cyrus kind of noble in their betrayal intentions? From what I understand, they both just want to kill Khyrus, even if Cyrus wants to kill a couple others along the way. It also sounds like Avitus is trying to prove that he isn't the real traitor, but the only guy who knows what's really going on.

  • Hello, Brothers for a new hail phrase!

  • Tarkus: "Terminator Armor"

Avitus: "Yeeesss, the Holiest of the Chapter Relics in the hands of a loathsome betrayer! There is the honor of the Blood Ravens!"

    -best traitor ever!-

  • @Kizerlk07 "Terminator armour." As if him, his squad and everyone else around him arn't/ couldn't be covered in the stuff.

  • Why is it, that when i first saw Avitus betray us, I felt that it was because he had fallen to Khorne.

When he spoke his last words, all the hate went out of me, to be replaced with sorrow and pity.

  • What song is this?

  • does anyone know the name and stats of the item you get from avitus after you complete the mission?

  • Man avitus's betrayal is probably the most exciting and sad. He really is not tainted by the powers of Chaos, but is just sick of the universe and the death in it. Escpecially that last line.

  • Avitus:Truth is A LIE! Faith is A LIE! The damn cake from portal 1 and 2 is A LIE!

  • "It was the cake that damned you I think, you have let a betrayal of a guaranteed delicacy to defeat you"

"SPARE ME YOUR MORALIZING! The Cake wasn't a guarantee, it was a PROMISE!! A Promise made by the Chef of the God Emperor himself!"

"Truth is a Lie, Faith is a Lie, THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!"

"It doesn't matter who cooks and serves...... cake is eaten as it had always been baked. There's.... no other delicacy in this ... wretched...Existence!"

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 "That cake is tainted with the Warp, Tarkus! It has you under its thrall!"

  • @Shyyrn

"You were too eager to believe in the lies of a cake, Thaddeus!"

"You could not no, you were not on Typhon!"

"No, I was on the kitchen of fury facing down the hivemind itself. I fought that terrible chef for weeks, child! I felt it die as burnt cakes reached the central hiveship! There was no Daemonic hand in that bakery!"

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93

"Bake, accursed batter, BAKE!! You! What have you done? Ah, I see... you do nothing. It is Jonah."

    "He fights you still, daemon."

"A desperate and foolish gambit, Space Marines. The best he can do is forestall the rising of this batter."

"Long enough for Jonah to eat it from the bowl with spoons."

"By all means: eat this batter. It will then be my pleasure to send the stubborn body of Jonah Orion to the hospital with Salmonella."

  • Canon traitor.

  • Not that I like to nitpick or anything, but isn't Avitus suppose to comment if you go CQC on him too many times?

  • @Rogovets I've seen that line. I believe its dependent on whether you go after him without attacking the Black Legion bases. I forgot to add it :P

  • Avitus is the canonical traitor according to Retribution because in there Tarkus who is the Ancient reveals on the judgement of Carrion after Typhon gets burned, that The reason he took a vow of silence is because he was forced to kill a brother who served with him on kronus and became fast friends during the nid attack on the sub-sector, and that Friend was Avitus. He took the Vow of Silence out of Regret and Remorse, Regret that he couldn't save Avitus, and remorse because it had to be done.

  • Am I the only one who Think Avitus sounds like the Spice Guy when he says the Line "I know your out there, coming for me."

  • Great scene, best one in the whole series. but for a minute there I thought he said "bloody shit" at 5:12

  • Avitus:faith is a LIE, Truth is a LIE and the cake is a LIE!!!

  • is it on purpose that davian thule is never with you on a traitor mission? :O or can´t he be? ^^"

  • @Tobithegoodguy I hated using him, his dreadnought gets in the way of everyone.

  • @BigDickCheney lol, but his dreadnought can basically solo most of the missions, so its more like everyone gets in the way of thule lol

  • @BigDickCheney If you think about it, it makes sense that he doesn't come along. Giant walkers with autocannons, flamers and claws belching smoke out of their rears aren't known for their stealth, which this mission is supposed to be about before meeting the traitor :P

  • @Tobithegoodguy he is Incorruptible. note he doesnt have any skills associated with tainting.

  • Victory Bay was the Imperial Guard stronghold. Avitus' disdain and hatred for the Imperial Guard may be some kind of complicated guilt.

  • Wow...out of all of the endings, all of the traitors, this one by far is...the most emotional. While all the others just go chaos crazy, Avitus is all but destroyed by the actions of Kronus and the dark truth of the chapter. He hates it, and hates himself for what he has become, but he couldn't stop it either. He saw everything he believed and trusted destroyed. Thus he sought his own destruction. A sad end to a great warrior. May his soul rest in peace.

  • @Cenkic

Expect his soul to be devoured by a Bloodthirster in the first few seconds of emerging in the Warp and tortured forever.

Just goes to show - WH40K is one sad place.
