Bowhunting is my way of life. We have made life so complicated for ourselves, its nice to be able to just go out in the woods, free of worries, free of bills, taxes and living the way humans lived for thousands of years. Plus being able to cut back on the food bill and stock healthy and chemical free meat in the fridge is always a big welcome as well.

I like to seperate traditional bows with primitive bows. Traditional meaning they are still simply "bent sticks" but are made with fiberglass laminates and other modern appliances . A primitive bow is the truest form of archery , bow made from a tree , arrowheads from rock or bone , and string from natural fibers , and so fourth . If you have taken game with a trully primitive bow than hats off to you .

Solely depends on the design of the bow. But as for a rule of thumb, even an average 55lb bow can kill deer.

you can kill a deer with a 35 pound long bow...hell the native americans used like a 20 pound bow to kill buffalo....but a 35 pound bow will work just fine

I luurrrve traditional archery and black powder hunting. When you combine that with tracking and stalking and just knowing the animal and the habitat it's in is one of the best ways to reconnect with the earth.
