its a great story with a bunch of really genuine people.. i gotta say, lips sister is a total champion.. shes obviously not into metal at all and has prob watched him struggle forever getting nowhere yet she still stepped up to help him get money to record.. she seemed like such a beautiful person. and sacha did such a great job for focussing on the human side of the story and not just trying to make it spinal tap part 2.. great stuff. also for having the balls to make it in the 1st place.

I ordered This Is Thirteen from the Anvil website Monday and got the CD Friday and I will tell you this, you will not be disappointed. I'm 44 and played it for my Metallica listening little brother (who is 30) and he was completely blown away. So I dug out my "Metal on Metal" record and Venom "Black Metal" and made him listen. I said "brother this ain't your Metallica crap this is hardcore metal the real fuckin deal !" So I have converted one youngster who realizes that older brother is a god.

Bout Shit when I saw the promo for this movie! I NEVER forgot about ANVIL!!! Blood On The Ice!...Forged In Fire! Are you kidding me??? I always thought ANVIL was apart of the forefathers of speed/thrash metal??!!

A wonderful film, a great great band. I listened to them way back and really loved their stuff, but sort forgot about them along the way, as I suppose so did a huge number of other people and thats why they never really made it big. This is a way to give them a tribute which they really deserve. Keep rocking ANVIL.

Wonderful film, sure... but great band? um, well, I feel I can comment because I actually bought their best album, "Metal on Metal", when it came out and... Anvil are not a very good band. Period. They got heart. And they deserve any attaintion the movie gives them, but they got blown away by Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Maiden, Priest, Dio, and by the way, there were other bands that shoulda made it but didnt... Riot, Sword (Canada) and Saxon... anvil are kings of cheese but I do feel sorry4em
