  • No I'm so cunfussed

  • Did this teach anyone how to fit a saddle?

  • do you need to use a backpad, plz answer cause i am buying my own tack and i'm wondering if i need to buy a backpad

  • @TheFelixShow01 It depends how sensitive your horses back is i know my 2 morabs only need a saddle pad and saddle

  • how do i get my horse to like a saddle cause i ride bare back

  • this horse is gorgues do you own him/her?

  • just a question dont you have to tighten the elastic side????

  • someone plz answer this

when can u tell if ur girth is tight enough

    thnxs!!!!!!

  • @SeaMonkeysLikeTea It doesnt have to be on its tighest but you need to make it as tight as you can but not tooo tight.

  • @SeaMonkeysLikeTea If you can fit 3 fingers snuggly inbetween the girth, then it's tight enough.

  • thats a stupid vid i cant even see wht ur doing

  • the saddle is to far up it doesn't allow the horses shoulder to move as freely as it could because your putting the pressure more towards the front which make the horse go on its for hand and get long and strung out. If u place it a little farther back it would give u a better chance of sitting back and putting the horse more on it's butt and more balanced.

  • You shound never put on a saddle without a pad and nummah because you could give the horse a cut!

  • what would you suggest to help restore leather on an english saddle. i was raised riding walking horses so i had to use english, now that i own my own walkin horse, im tryin my balance with it from year of going to westeren for standardbreds, the leathers are in awesome condition just need cleaned. how could i keep it up from there?

  • You should never fit a saddle with a numnah on, fitting a saddle should be done without any pad underneath!! This person obviously does not know what on earth she is doing!!!!

  • @fartarsejo Shes not fitting it, shes explaining how to put it on.

  • fail. how is this fitting a saddle. this is like tacking up for beginners, which one would hope they are in lessons learning stuff like this.

  • this video is how to tack up a horse not how to fit a saddle but the one titled how to saddle a horse is actually how to fit a horse if you were looking for that video.

  • i know how to tack i want to know if your horse needs a sertain size...and how to find out what size...

  • the saddle is to far forward

  • im gonna stik with way i got tought:

    put on the numnah,

then put the sadle on top plus after wards garb both an dslide back stoping discomfort.

then atach the girth doing it up losely so the horse can still breath and ttyten the grth when your ready to ride.

  • The saddle is not too far forward, it is where it needs to be (where the girth of the saddle lies in the flat area of the heart girth). This is so that when the rider is in the saddle, they will be sitting on the horse's center of gravity. Having the saddle in this spot also means that the withers are there to keep it in place. However, she should have lifted the pads into the gullet of the saddle to give the horse wither space and prevent binding of the shoulder.

  • Wow, a lot of problems with this "saddle fitting" video. First of all this is "tacking up", not saddle fitting.

The saddle is MUCH too far forward. This is not correct at all and can cause pinching and a lot of pain and discomfort for the horse.

The benefits of the sheepskin half pad are largely lost by putting a pad underneath it.

I have overhead before that the "expert village" videos were a joke, and now I see this to be true.

  • It can be called either tackng up or saddle fitting, it doesn't actually matter that much.

The saddle is not too far forward. Did you not know that you put that saddle a biit forward, so that when you ride, the saddle will slide back a bit, smoothing the hair down instead causing saddle rash?

The sheepskin pad and the saddle pad both share their reasons. The sheepskin pad acts as a shock absorvber, while the saddle pad has the keepers.

Please use your underused common sense somtimes?

  • Wow, rude.

Actually there is a big difference between "tacking up" and "saddle fitting". Tacking up is just putting on the tack.

Saddle fitting is the process of examining the fit of a saddle and making adjustments, such as changing the stuffing of the wool panels, adding shims, or trying different saddle widths.

It's like saying trying on jeans at the store is the same as getting dressed at home.

  • If the saddle slides back while riding, it's because it was too far forward to begin with, and is settling into a lower point. Until then, your horse's shoulder is probably getting pinched and the shoulder blade is being blocked.

The reason why people started paying big bucks for a sheepskin pad is because of its breathability and wicking qualities. Putting a pad between the horse and sheepskin defuses these benefits. Many other types of materials can be used simply as a shock absorber.

  • you just said everything i was about to. totally agree with you my friend.

  • this is the right way to saddle the horse in english she just could of changed it up all of u guyses ideas but really thats the right way

  • This is not how to fit a saddle, the saddle is too far forward and the streachy part of the girth can be put on either side, left is traditional but right is better as the streachy is usually done up tighter once mounted so makes more sense not to put it on the same side as the horses heart

  • um actualy you put in on the way your getting on duh

  • TY. :)

  • shes clueless O.o

  • i love horses :p.....

  • This is NOT a saddle fitting. Her pad and saddle are too far forward and the girth DOES NOT sit just behind the elbow, it should sit further back. This saddle will hurt the horse.

  • this is not how to FIT a saddle to the horse. this video simply shows how to tack up, or saddle your horse! I want to know how you know if the saddle FITS your horse. yeesh!

  • she handles the saddle like it weighs nothing! =O

  • after a while it doesn't =]

  • i dont think theyre that heavy but the one i use r quite small so i guess it would b heavier with a bigger saddle thoughlol

  • i will now know how to put the saddle on thank you

  • I got my first horse when i was 6 im now 15 and on my second horse as my first horse ( Welsh cob) started as my sisters and was passed down but now i have my very own horse trained by me

  • this isn't fitting..this is just tacking up..*sigh*

  • sorry i posted that under my brothers name because i don't have an account thingy so that's not my name my names mikaela

  • You are so lucky xosupercutie123 you get to have a horse when you're 11 or 12 I have been wanting a horse since i was 5 and i'm 12 it sucks though because ill never get a horse unless we move houses because our family doesnt live on a farm or have any paddocks cause we live in the city so if i did get one where would i put it by the way xosupercutie123 how old r u now?

  • you could look for a boarding stable to put your horse .

  • nice, I was givin an english saddle, and I couldn't figure out how to adjust it for it to fit a smaller horse, (I just need a new girth seems like) think I'll stick to westren, after I try it on my barrel horse.

  • L luv these vid. when did u decide 2 make them cuz when i get my own horse (WHEN IM LIKE 11 or 12) i wanna make vids like these

  • I like these horse videos!
