Whoa whoa whoa, at approximately 40 seconds he says he "saw" them (American Idol) roll a grand piano on stage. I thought he was visually impaired. Either he didn't really mean what he said or he's not as impaired as we think. If so, he's been fishing for sympathy votes

He can see but his vision is limited. He has described his range of vision as looking at the world through a straw. I think he could tell a piano was rolled on to the stage.

well he can see like 2 degrees. instead of 180. look at the video scottt macintyre, american idol contest. by 100huntley. and they were not sympathy votes...

I will tell you what you get when you take away his blindness...... you get a very inteligent man with two degrees in music. also you get a very cute distinguished classy man with great vocals. I hope you win scott! SCOTT RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah i really think he deserves to win, between him and danny, and i think scott is just the sweetest guy on american idol, and yeah people do judge him because hes blind and it shouldnt matter atleast hes got talent behind the piano and has an amazing voice :)

He is a good guy, probably real nice. But take away that he's blind.............. please don't take this the wrong way, don't go out giving me a thumbs down because I am NOT downplaying him because he's blind, but take that away, then what do you get? Not a ton really... he really doesn't have that great of a voice, no real originality and it's a bit lackluster (from what we've heard) I could always change my mind when we hear him next week again, but his auditons were not that good... sorry

i get your view & i agree that his visual impairment will gain him sympathy votes, however i also believe that the ones who go far on AI don't necessarily have to be the best vocally...scott has had to overcome extraordinary obstacles to get to where he is & it would be illogical to say "well if he weren't blind" because the fact is that he is & we should give him the credit he deserves as a result.. that being said, scott's voice has a delicacy and rawness that appeals to me :)

but he's just so average from what we've seen. his audition was OK, but nothing that made me go wow. And "Home" was totally average. like i say, he's probably a good guy, but his singing talent is a blah. it doesn't matter if he's had to overcome being blind. Lil Rounds overcame a tornado, but at least she can sing above average.

He's my American Idol... He inspires many people and those have disabilities like me. I really want him to win!
