Khmer people do have written history from the Angkor era until now. They do not base everything off of the walls. Even for a country that's been through the inhumane pol pot regime, the strong spirit of the khmer shines out of everyone i've met over there..can't wait to go back there again!!

No, Tamils never ruled Cambodia. Despite cultural influence from Tamil and Oriya kingdoms, there are no Tamil influence linguistically, nor have any Tamils settled in Cambodia to have a strong cultural influence. We were strictly Sanskritist, an Indo-Aryan language that has influenced Tamil. The only Tamil inscription in Southeast Asia is found next to trading ports.

No, Nepal was never officially part of India as we know of as India today because India itself is composed of several kingdoms and people. They are only united today because of British rule and a national movement. That why you can't call Nepalis Indian because their nationality isn't "Indian."

wonderful video. Sisophon, Battambang and Siem Reap (as the name suggests: Siamese Reign) BELONG to Thailand. They were happily part of Siam for 500 years before the French took over and the people there would have been happy without Khmer Rouge, hatred and communist experiments. Yeah, that's what Thai parents tell their children. Just do a little research, and you'll realize your parents were wrong. Angkor Wat was built by the Khmer Empire, but when they were weak, that's when the Thais took it over. The French just recovered it for Cambodia. But I guess the Thais can complain b/c they did steal it fair and square.

Sihanouk didn't betrayed Khmer like most people said. If you look at it, he was outsmarted by Huo. Up until he was overthrown by Lon Nol, Sihanouk did very well for Khmer. I don't blame Huo for what he did though because our leaders were too dumb and never wanted to admit to it. Sihanouk had his vision of Cambodia but he lost it. Now, Hun Sen is the leader who also has his own vision for Cambodia. So far so good for Hun Sen, eh.
