Yeah. Every time I hear those kind of comments about this movie all I gotta say is: Welcome to the world of Silent Hill.
Where smiles are scarce and tears abound, sense is all gone, and that growing, hollow pain in your chest is the only thing moving you forward, like strings on a puppet, into the madness of it all. Enjoy your stay.
Since they are dead they are stuck in the place I call the middle zone. A zone where you are not completely dead but neither alive. Your body and mind are trapped in the middle Zone, which it will stay untill you die once again. Which sends you to heaven or hell.. Thats just my thoery though
People if you have watched the movie without playing any of the games you will be confused by the end of the movie. They are both dead. At the beggining they both died in the car accident, if you notice the cop said she laid her bike down so she died as well. Silent hill stories always end sadly, and tragically.
@liocikas1 My iPod screwed up the message, I just summed it up, They are in the Center world, Not fully dead just there body AND soul are trapped in the center world unless they die there... When that happened they would fully die. It's really confusing... >.> They can still call home but the signal is crap between worlds
During the final confrontation with Christabella, Rose was stabbed. after the church massacre, Rose actually dead while holding Sharon who has been possessed by alessa. if any of you look closely at dahlia, she wasn't looking at rose but sharon instead cuz rose is not there. perhaps rose's ghost wander around while brought sharon home, but i think alessa hypnotized rose thinking they already home. and then chris would found sharon in her room or the car in real world later.

Ok think I know what happened. Allesas mother was a terrible mother sacrificing her own daughter to be burned. I think Alessa saw that Rose was willing to do anything to protect her daughter. So she merged with Sharron and kept her and Rose in Silent Hill forever so that she could spend eternity with a deserving mother that she deserved in the first place.
I just read that the plot of SH 2 will not be featured in the new movie. Michael Basset said SH2 stands alone and a movie can be done about it anytime...
The sequel is going to feature Rhada Mitchell (Rose) and Sean Bean (Christopher) but also Heather/Cheryl as a 17 year old (ala Silent Hill 3). Perhaps in addition to seeing events based on the third video game, we will also see events based on SH 2 as well. Maybe Christopher will get a letter from Rose in the mail saying she is in Silent Hill??

This movie is nothing like the game... play Silent Hill Origins and you see that Dahlia actually wants her dead to summon the Flauros Demon and I thought Alessa was reborn into Heather from SH3... hopefully SH2 movie follows the game bahaha that would be awesome yet trippy!!!
Thats sad... the father is all alone and thought Rose and Sharon was gone forever, I would be all sad man. The ending would be better if Rose and Sharon comes back and the father would be very happy then finally back as a Family. But this... this is bullshit!!! It sucks more if this is for the rest of their lives until their dead, and they are all alone, no friends, no people. But i think you get free stuff in the shop and free cars, free and go anywhere!!! but it still sucks!
@Nairda442 That is one of the two explanations. This explanation explains that when people died in the fire in Silent Hill, they entered the fog world for enternity. Hence, anyone else who died in Silent Hill afterwards was sent to the fog world. This means that both Rose and Sharon died in the car accident in the beginning and are trapped forever in the fog world. But that is the first explanation.
@Nairda442 Yes Rose and Sharon died while the little girl in the last part was coming. Everybody in the church died. This pretty much means they're in the afterlife world, while the dad is still alive or mortal world.
Alessa is dead, but her remaining part of the soul (the dark side) is still activley dreaming...so.... within the dream there are 2 sides, the ash filled (almost safe zone) and the nightmare that Alessa is dreaming as punishment for killing her... so, when everyone has been punished... Alessa re-enters her good part....we know this as Sharon, unbeknown to rose this has occured... they leave, but are still within the reality that Alessa is dreaming, a world with a mother who will protect her....
I think they died going into silent hill. (static call and comparison of the what the husband saw) when they left SH, they left as spirits, again with static call, fog, and open door.
Heres the only thing that makes no sense,if it all happened 30 years ago and sharron is alessa's daughter and she had her 30 years ago why is sharron like only 10 years old?That is the only thing that doesnt make sense
Rose and Sharon leave Silent Hill and return home. Although Rose and Sharon are in the same room as Christopher, who has also returned home, they cannot see each other due to the fact that Rose and Sharon now exist in a separate reality as a result of entering Silent Hill.
That is a horrible ending!!!!! T_T I would kill myself if only one person knew that I exist and I would never see my friends again or my own dad or never get to go to school again!!!

what i feel happens is that rose helps dark alessa into having satisfaction in killing all those who were against her and rose and sharon would of been brought back to the real world yet cause sharon opened her eyes, they stayed as ghosts or on the other world. It's the curse of Silent Hill, it drew Sharon and Rose to it and now they're cursed. Dark Alessa brought them there to stop a 30 year old lie and bring the truth to those people. But in doing so, Sharon and Rose were cursed. The reason she can't see her husband is because she is in the Silent Hill dimension (which explains why it was foggy in her house). Little Sharon is in a state of shock, after seeing her dark "twin". Silent Hill is truly a cursed place, and those who enter don't return

@LuvStruckMess Because Sharon was cursed and the mom and cop had something to do with her. the first time the cop lady was there she had no contact with Sharon. But now that Sharon was in Silent hill, both the mom and cop are trapped.

No Sharon and rose are not dead. basically Sharon and Dark alessa recombined and was reborn into a new alessa lol i no confusing so the new aless creats a dimension like the human world and the mother rose is unaware of her not sharon daughter. The qns is. If Rose and Sharon were to be dead. How the hell did that last phone call from Rose manage to activate the answering machine halfway and got to her husband(well even if its just bad reception sound) ??? i can't say Silent Hill the movie was bad, it's just, its so far from the game, that its kind of hard to see the appeal. But i did love the acting and the part where Alyssa's reveange . I'm just stumped on the ending 0.o

I could be wrong, but I don't think Sharon opening her eyes at the end had anything to do with them staying not being able to return to home. They both died in the car crash going to silent hill, therefore there was no way for them to return in the first place.
How did Alyssa give birth to a Sharon who looks identical to her when she was sevrely burned at a young age and how did that "demon" have it's own alyssa's body? I don't get it
I think Sharon and Rose died in the car crash, but Rose had to fight to bring Sharon over from hell into heaven. Which is why, in the end, they do get out of Silent Hill and into their home. The husband sees it because it is Rose's way of letting him know that she and Sharon are gone, but they are not trapped in hell, which was Silent Hill.
@delgirl0101 The father is in the normal world, i.e this dimension, throughout the movie. If you go back you'll notice all of his scenes are in a brighter, more serene-looking Silent Hill, not the dark, foggy, scary Silent Hill that Sharon and her mother are in. They're each in a different dimension-one is normal, one is cursed. When Sharon and her mother crash along with the policewoman, they are all transported to the cursed dimension, where as the father remains in his dimension throughout

No Sharon and rose are not dead. basically Sharon and Dark alessa recombined and was reborn into a new alessa lol i no confusing so the new aless creats a dimension like the human world and the mother rose is unaware of her not sharon daughter. So he wakes up in the human world because he smells rose's perfume but shes in another dimension meaning its like thier there but there not gettin me

to the people asking how the cop,rose&sharron die. the cop died.remember before rose got arrested? and the cop was bleeding. and she said she "slid/hit her head on the concrete....."
and rose & sharron died in the car accident. just like the other guy cop said...alot of the bodies dissapeared.

The qns is. If Rose and Sharon were to be dead. How the hell did that last phone call from Rose manage to activate the answering machine halfway and got to her husband(well even if its just bad reception sound) ??? My tots are, maybe something happen at the part where sharon opened her eyes an saw straight into the demon eyes, Maybe the demon took her form when everything went back to normal and followed home? or They died, but not on the other side of the realm? or THE DIRECTOR'S AN ASSHOLE!!!!

i can't say Silent Hill the movie was bad, it's just, its so far from the game, that its kind of hard to see the appeal. But i did love the acting and the part where Alyssa's reveange . I'm just stumped on the ending 0.o

the demon was an in bodyment of the burnt girls hate torwd the witch hunters.the the dream was part of her revenge. but why did the demon keep them in the dream? why did they have to suffer? is the cop actual dead because she dided in the dream? who was the pyramid head guy? and if opening your eyes means you stay then why didnt the mom leave? if they died already then how did the people in the church die twice? ill be up all night wondering! please explane! awwwwwwwwwwww

I could be wrong, but I don't think Sharon opening her eyes at the end had anything to do with them staying not being able to return to home. They both died in the car crash going to silent hill, therefore there was no way for them to return in the first place.

I think Sharon and Rose died in the car crash, but Rose had to fight to bring Sharon over from hell into heaven. Which is why, in the end, they do get out of Silent Hill and into their home. The husband sees it because it is Rose's way of letting him know that she and Sharon are gone, but they are not trapped in hell, which was Silent Hill.

@delgirl0101 The father is in the normal world, i.e this dimension, throughout the movie. If you go back you'll notice all of his scenes are in a brighter, more serene-looking Silent Hill, not the dark, foggy, scary Silent Hill that Sharon and her mother are in. They're each in a different dimension-one is normal, one is cursed. When Sharon and her mother crash along with the policewoman, they are all transported to the cursed dimension, where as the father remains in his dimension throughout
