I am an American woman living in the south. I have no connection with the Muslim world at all, yet I have no problem with the hajab. Who are you to judge. It's part of their culture and that's fine. Just like it's part of my culture to wear a bra. It makes me feel more secure, and maybe muslim women feel the same way about their cloths. I know I 'm tired of women being judged by physical appearances. Men from all cultures are pigs and will do that. Here's one way to deal with it.

Us muslim women are not forced or oppressed. this is simply a misunderstanding and misconception. Also, not all Muslim men are abusive, and if they are, that is not Islam. And no, we do not suffer. I feel much more free actually. I feel that i can be myself and not judged by my looks rather than my personality. And to the weather, we do not suffer. Now i do cover myself and wear my hijab in the summer and trust me it feels much better than when i used to wear shorts and tops. I am an American woman living in the south. I have no connection with the Muslim world at all, yet I have no problem with the hajab. Who are you to judge. It's part of their culture and that's fine. Just like it's part of my culture to wear a bra. It makes me feel more secure, and maybe muslim women feel the same way about their cloths. they cover bcoz they belive its the right way to obey God ( Allah in arabic) its up to the individual women if she wants to wear niqaab / faceveil according to her interpretaion of whats been said by scholars and so on :) and as 40tuba40 so well she is protecting her self :)

Islam requires modesty of men first, then woman. Read the bible, it says that a woman who does not cover her head, shames her head. Until about 40 yrs ago ALL Catholic women were required to cover their heads in church. I know because I used to be Catholic.

If u say that your society is build on freedom , then what is the problem with women choosing to cover in a particular way . If Madonna can wear a bra and a tights in public , them why cant muslim women choose to cover . Please grow up and stop propagating lies and hatred .
