  • my God this is beautiful. I'm buying this babe in a month.

  • Got a tut, on how to change the GPU to a 280m?

  • It's a simple remove and replace. Nothing special

  • Thanks.

  • You can't change laptop gpus.(Unless you are an extremely good moder with good soldering skill)Plus GTX 280m doesn't fit in a 15.4 inch notebook. Most GTX 280m only fits in 17+ notebooks. Only crazy LAN party gamers like to have GTX 280m. If you want real performance, get a desktop.

  • Clevo is releasing the NP8690 which is a 15'' laptop it will have the i7 and a GTX 280m..

  • too sick. must look out for them since shortlisting np8662

  • I'm considering replacing my HP DV5 so I've got a few queries... Does anyone know how heavy this weighs without the quad core and standard GTX260 graphics? Cos I prefer relatively lighter laptops like the MSI GT627 that weighs about 2.5kg.. And oh, how does this compare with the Asus G51 in terms of firepower?

  • GPU's and CPU's for these laptops are all the same size and therefore weigh about the same. The G51 can run the same hardware as the Sager so its pretty much up to your style and preference in brand.

  • yo what would these specs be able to play on crysis like high ? very high? and what FPS do you think it would get?

    THANKS

SPECS: 2.53GHZ Intel core duo 4GB of ram 320gb hard drive 7200rpm gtx 260m graphic card

its a sager n8662 thinking of buying it , if you know anything better for the same price or anything would be helpfull

  • You would probably average around 30fps depending on what you have the AA at.

  • Hey, Great vid thinking of getting one but.. BFG has the same notebook they look alike like the sager.. If i wasen't Mistaken I thought this was the BFG Deimos??

  • no, this is a sager np8662.

the one your reffering to is an 18" laptop with a 280m. mine is 15" with a 260m.

they both are re-branded Clevo's though

  • You could buy a barebone NP8662 and put a 280m in instead of the 260m. I know that rjtech sells the 280m for $490 and the 260m for $415 so it wouldn't be that big of a price difference. The only problem is that most barebones include the GPU. Try asking rjtech or any other reseller. I'm almost certain this will void your warranty but the performance increase would be amazing.

  • Many people have swapped the 260m for the 280m in their NP8662 without problem. Although you should be careful about adding a quad core CPU with the 280m because this will generate alot of heat.

The 280m would dramatically increase your graphics performance without costing much more. I will do this in about a year when the 260m is no longer cutting it for the latest games. Good luck with your purchase.

  • Mine is running Windows 7 right now and it works really well with no compatibility problems. Sorry, there is no backlit keyboard but the overall appearance of the laptop is very professional.

  • think ill be getting one of these and dual booting 7 and leopard. does this have a backlit keyboard or anything?? i wish it did but sure it doesnt.

  • everything maxed on this thing?

  • It says DX10 32bit HighSpec at the top of the video, so I guess it is :D

  • I have this laptop but with the 2.0 Ghz Q9000 Quad CPU and 3GB of RAM. I haven't found any game that it can't play really well yet and it can max out a lot of recent games.

  • Have you tried GTA IV yet? I've been wondering how well it will perform.

  • I play GTA IV at 1680 X 1050 on a mixture of high and medium and I get a constant 30 fps, lows of 25 fps in really busy police chases, highs of 45 fps, highest of about 48 fps. The problem is that GTA IV performs differently on every system and some graphics drivers I tried reduced performance by 10 fps where others increased performance by 10 fps. Day time performs better. If anyone wants to know more about overall game performance with the Q9000, I can send you my performance thread link.

  • Send the link

  • It's a great gaming laptop! It has the fastest GPU available in a 15" laptop. Thats exacly why I opted for 2GB of ram. I've been debating adding another 2GB but it really hasnt been negative factor yet.

  • is it running on max in this video? and would getting 4gb of ram help?

  • yes to both

  • Doing well, so homecome you opted for 2GB of ram? although i completely understand the cost, you can just install another stick :D

  • So this is a laptop worth getting? Thinking ofordering one next week.

  • nice
