jajajaja my poodle does the same thing,when i bathe her,dry her and even move her to another side of the bed (when she's extremely asleep she sometimes puts her face on my cheek,so i move her so she can be more comfortable)she starts growling and barking,i talked to the vet who said that there is NOTHING WRONG with her,she's just spoiled jajajaja so calmed down everyone,if it really hurts them they will let you know by making moaning or aching sound ;)

If a dog has a pain somewhere in the bones or elsewhere it sometimes reacts with anger when touched in a way which makes them hurt and a lot of dogs simply don't like being "massaged" this way.
