I got a blues/rock band together in 89 and Tony was the first person to give us a gig (at Hendon LMS) That was the first night I met him. He was impressed and was very friendly (unlike most promoters) and gave us two more bookings there and then. We kept bumping into each other (Joe Meek nights, Edmonton blues jams etc) and he was a really nice bloke to talk to. It's very sad to think I'll never meet him again. RIP Tony.
I also had a 'Covers' band in 1986 ! And Tony was the 1st person to give us a Gig as well ! ( Also at Hendon 'London Midland Scottish {LMS} .... R.I.P. at the Great Gig in the Sky ......

Hi Guys. The dange could always knock em out with a top tune.
Zoot recognises this 'RonnieBass' contributer. Youtube has experienced funny marking threads in the past and Zoot feels it's the fuzzy logic of a 'cockroach' to claim fame off the back of something that happened 43 years ago.
There's always one.
The Dange existed in the lime light for many years and Zoot would like to add Zoots greatest respect to him.
Tony you are sadly missed but your music will always live on.
Tony, we're all going to miss you more than you'll ever know. This video holds great memories of jam nights with you, maybe a little lubricated, but always center stage, directing the band to a rocking climax at the end of the night. On this night you borrowed my guitar to play some lovely blues licks and I'm so pleased it was captured on video as it was a rare occasion. We all love you Tony.
I remember 'the elf' was the only official one to take the bass over from Tony for about 4 months mid sixties. Bit of a loner nerdo in the clubs if memory serves right and couldnt handle the scene. Bet you'd wish you'd stuck around for the lord sutch years and stuck it out now? Tony and Beds were class and carried quite a few wannabes over the years.
stick to the keyboard 'elf' the roaches sounds about right for you. where do they play then in hamburg? rofl

Hi er..WhenIGetTo3 - you've been to the Starr Club website then!
When i made this comment Tony was still with us - I suppose that's why someone's given me a -1 ...a bit harsh?
Anyway, we also lost Johnny Beddar over 2 years ago!
I'm not in a hurray to fulfil your premonition
'cos I'm with a new band - the Roaches.
So let me know how and who you are
