Thats a good analysis, its true Pakistan feels threatened and certainly doesnt want India to be on both sides. If U.S. didnt allow india so much influence in Afghan, the Pakistani approach might have been different. Also, towards the end, she talks about the solution for the Afghan problem, why not Inovlve U.N./OIC and solve the Kashmir issue once and for all?Is it all do-gooder pretense and U.S. only does something when they have their own interests?just a thought..
"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."
If someone attacks your freking home country, what do you do? Defend your country or make a run for it?! Would you move to some other country thinking that you are better couse you do not want to fight a war..
@ZenChat They were officially labled as the Taliban to stop the civil war and get control.
Before they were all Mujahideen fighting soviets.
Some warlords remained to fight for control and ended up fighting each other while others just left it. And then after the Taliban, Northren Alliance of former lords and civil-war vets overthrew the Taliban.
Reparations won't work. They'll take 10 cents from Iran before they'll take a dollar from the US. They know they are being conned into doing what the US wants and as Muslims, they won't fall for it. You can't buy them off, they take care of their own with their own money, even if it's paltry by our standards.
US $ will go a long way in Afg., yes we should give them $, but don't expect any future cooperation. It will have to be a gift, free and clear.
The Republicans are not worth talking about. Go Tea Party.
There is no difference in the two parties if people have not figured that out with Obama. All of the Leadership needs to be fired then Jailed for High Teason for the past 30 years. Both Bush s and their friends, Both Clinton's are their friends(whats left of them) and Obama and his Gangsters. Jail them forever. Then Close the Borders, tariff imports, close bases, bring troops home, break up corps, fire most all of the Government.
Every pundit lines up on this one, telling, and grim point: THERE IS NO GOOD SOULUTION.
Basically, we just all have to say F it, be glad we don't live there and finance the snot out of killing foiks?
I'm sorry to be flip, but its clear that NOBODY has a fucking clue as to a solution, ie a way for the US to leave without leaving a raging civil, ethnic, international war.
Bennis does a good job here, but shows, for all her expertise, she has no clue how to solve the problem.
The worst solution is the one currently being implemented: propping up a corrupt, illegitimate government, killing civilians and spending billions to support an occupation that only products are body bags and grief.
There is no magic wand to fix all the problems, but the current strategy is the most counterproductive and costly method imaginable.
Peace is the only solution short and long term. Military intervention has failed profoundly and has pillaged the US economy.
Yeah, I can keep repeating the word peace too, but that won't change the fact there are thousands of heavily armed, illiterate, clever guys who will keep fighting when we leave.
This strategy isn't even close to a worst case scenario. Under McCain it would have been a true double down, and would likely have become more of a war of extermination.
Should the world be investing in the continued existence of "Afghanistan"? Or do we just let these folks fight it out?
firstly i would like to commend bennis on disclosing the geo-political thing happening in and around afghanistan.......and its 100% true what she revealed about india and pakistan....and cmon, lot of countries have vested interests in afghanistan...especially US and UK!!!
P.S - i was born in india,so dont argue with regards to the conflict between IN & PA...
in this whole mayhem - china watches as a silent player - they are the biggest elephant in the room - what ever govt is choosen in afghanistan will have to be friendly to china - phyillis failed to mention that ---
yes all the nations that went on to become super powers were wise and pragmatic - then comes the superpower status - then they start to expand and become foolish - thus, the downfall
No, it doesn't. It needs to be DE-NUKED, by stealth or by coup or whatever. Don't even think about nuking ANYTHING on planet Earth. A) All that radioactive material will fall back to earth in the form of fallout & contaminate everyone (air, food chain, etc.) B) It could cascade into a global thermonuclear war. So, no, we don't want 2 be fighting ppl with weapons that can kill us as well. Plus, nukes aren't even necessary. USA has the MOAB.
@clubtour"I wonder why after watching 3 segments the words "oil" or "pipeline" have yet to be uttered. Should I perceive this as honest journalism?"
Hear hear! Excellent point! Like, WTF?! Why is all news, TheRealNews included, not addressing the elephant in the room? Larry Wilkerson & former British ambassador Craig Murray talked about this in other TheRealNews videos! Like, what gives?! Did they forget the reason why the USA & others R so interested in controlling this region of the world?
nice honest interview, but these idealistic outcomes are absolutely unrealistic
Afghans, regardless of their ethnicity, need to stand together and build a country...you dont see different ethnicities/nations in the EU/USA shoot at each other all the time
real news could have a round table discussion involving members of the afghan diaspora (different ethnicities) to voice concerns and deifferences they have...this way problems and pssible solutions can be discussed
Bennis's ideal exit strategy for Afghanistan sounds brilliant, but impossible. the Right simply has too much power and influence to ever allow such a situation to unfold.

I liked the video but at little before 9 minutes they talk about Obama standing up to the general and firing him.
I just don't see that happening ever, a lot of looking forward to things but meh.

US + India + Russia backing Norther Alliance
vs
Pakistan backing Afghan Taliban.
THAT IS THE TRUTH!!

@ZenChat No.
It was India+Russia+Iran backing the NA.
US was outta it while pak wanted the Taliban to stay so it asked for US help.

@dudhala:
You are mistaken. Taliban came into existence AFTER the soviets left.
The US never supported the Taliban. The US and Saudies supported the Mujahideen.

"Just exit " and leave the Afghanistan in hands of Taliban and Pakistan to breed more Jihadis.
Wow what an enlightened strategy.
Way to go.

Oh I forgot, Jail all of congress and the Justices too, can not forget about those criminals .
Retest every dumb ass law with the constitution and create a new amendment concerning Pensions, term limits and lobbyist payoffs.
Destroy the Fed and make the Dollar backed by gold.
That will do it...
