You've got to put the downloads into the 'Downloads'folder :

My documents / Ea games / The sims 2 / Downloads

If the folder doesn't exist ( in most of cases) you must create it.

When you run the sims 2 , after loading , a box will appear , asking you to disable or enable custom content. After you enabled the option , you have to quit the game and run again to play with the downloads!

OK , It didn't took me 7 m, but 15. I had the idea in my head and just processed it.

This were the expansion packs used to make the house : Pets ( stairs & walls ) and Nightlife (Cars & driveway).
