yea, very bluntly put, you can die, but thats why you get decent gear to protect yourself as much as possible. Which is what a lot of people don't do and yes, they generally die..
I'm thinking about buying a 250R. I've never owned a motorcycle before and figured it would be a good first bike. I can get a used one cheap and save a lot of money on gas in comparison to my car. Good job on the videos.
right now i own a 2007 CBr600 but i miss my ninja 250. i only get 35 mpg on the CBR and its so exhausting to ride it. im getting a car and another ninja 250, 06 or earlier. Dont like the new one it looks so sporty , but its so small.
Man, I fell in love with these things when my dad got one last month. I am thinking of buying one next year, since in Georgia you have to be 16 to ride one, and I'm 15. I have driven lots of motorcycles and dirt bikes, but I want this to start out with, it'll be great, I think. Nice video.
After reading the negative comments, its woefully apparent that most have never even seen a ninja 250 much less rode one. There is not that much difference in crosswinds in my ninja 250 than my z14 or st3. A little but not enough to talk about and the ninja is more fun.
One side note. The 250 is not a good beginner bike. Compared to a 650 cruiser, the bike is very unstable. However, in more experienced hands the bike is a dream, and does everything you ask of it and more. I've even taken on dirt roads faster than any car could go (gotta love that 300 lb weight). As a second bike, there is no better option. Riding this bike is like flying.
That's odd considering that the Ninja 250 has won the "Best Beginner Bike" award more then any other bike in existence. It's that light weight that actually helps a newby learn how to better balance themselves and be able to handle anything the road and weather can throw at them when they move up in size, weight, and power of bike. So far you're the only person I've heard say it's better for veterans then beginners.

My point is just that there are easier bikes in the world to ride than the ninja 250. Riding the ninja 250 in a turn in gusting cross winds is relatively difficult compared to a 650 standard or cruiser. In my experience, the 250 is especially sensitive to gusting crosswinds between 45 and 65 MPH, and its tires are especially squirrelly on wet roads. So, if you're not just a fair-weather/recreational rider, this may not be an ideal first bike.
Whoa, I reread my post and it sounds a lot worse than it was intended. I can agree that due to itsl ighter weight and smaller size it may not handle crosswinds as well as much heavier bikes, but no bike is perfect and I'd still say (and think most would agree with me) that overall it is a hard bike to beat for a first bike.
My 250 gets 70 MPG when cruising. With a 4 gal tank, that comes out to a 280 mile range, probably the best on the market. Rode the bike 600 miles in one day with just 2 partial tank refills.
I really love this vid, very nice footage and music. I have an R1 but ya can't beat the Ninjette for a nice cruise as shown.Keep the shiny side up man:)
The Ninja 250 is great. Learning on that thing at moving up to a 600 means leaving other people who went straight for a 600 in ths dust cos they turn like bitches.

Are you smoking crack or just stupid? A Ninja 250 isn't a good starter bike? Some people should have their keyboard taken away.
