As a Roman Catholic, I respect the traditions of Orthodoxy. I am happy to see respect for its ancient traditions, which disappeared for so many, many years.
i don't understand why christians cry when someone dies? if they know that there is a god that will take care of them when they die!!
I wouldn't cry i would be happy if i were so sure that god is going to take care of my beloved one? but no; they cry, maybe there is a little doubt in their hearts about the existence of god?? this is just my opinion i don't want any angry responses!!
I wonder who the bishop is who was crying so very hard while he was saying his prayers beside Patriarch Alexy. I wanted to hug him and tell him it is going to be ok.
No. The equivalent of the Roman Pontif, is the Primus inter pares (the first among the equals), His All Hollines, Bartholomew I of Constantinople who is the spiritual leader of Eastern Christian Church. However, Alexey was the leader of one national Church (the Russian Orthodox Church) which is the largest and the richest in the Eastern Orthodox realm.
Actually your about 3/4 right. All Patriarchs are equel in the eys of Orthodoxy however, Hi All Holiness Patriach Bartholomew is the First Among Equals who would be the Speaker for All Orthodox if a Great Council would conven. No one Patriarch has like the Roman Pope has power over the other Patriarchal sees. There are 5 original sees, Constantinople, Jerusalem, Antioch, Alexanderia and Rome.
и обязательно надо было путинойдов в конец сунуть

they cry because they know they will miss them dearly in this world, even though we know the seperation will only be temporary.
