When I use to fish on the coast of Spain the old man would tell us to hit the fish in the belly... He claims it would knock it out.. I personally think it would fu&$ the meat up

@allstarjerseyshop most fish you dont eat the belly meat, they generally have worms in there. thats a weird theory, one would think that would make it die slow . you'd just be banging up its organs, it would die slow from organ failure lol head shot kills them quick
