  • What gets me the most about this story is the misdirection everyone had toward gay and lesbians, both Mary and Bobby lost something very dear to them, Bobby lost his life, but Mary lost her child. I am not at all angry at Mary, she was misdirected by the ignorance of others, and for that she tried her best by what she learned from, my new heroes in life are both Bobby and Mary..

  • it wasn't leona lewis who sang the version in the movie. i wanna know who sang it!

  • @rjcumigad so do I! I'm almost certain it was not her sang that ending song...

  • @potlach

My friend, even a "Wikipedia" query lists "Leona Lewis"on the soundtrack as having sung it!

  • This was such a heartbreaking movie. I've contemplated giving up on love......jst like poor Bobby. He was so innocent. I'm glad I watched this bc I realize that there even if my family never mommy who I love soooo much, wld take a bullet through my brain for, never accepts me..there are still a world of ppl out there who are willing to accept me and love me for who iiiiiiiii am.....not what they expect of me. This movie was a beautiful celebration of life..and the tragedy of young death.

  • simply beautiful

  • more and more people will end up here , writing something after seing the movie , i'm gay aswell and i want to encourage everyone , to never loose hope and never give up , fight untill you can't no more . I saw the movie and i cryed alot , because this things happen more often than we know . So , all those that are there in shadow or not , stand unite and fight !

  • @sht3ph1

    Ciao Bello!

"Amico Mio" this is Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here to thank you for choosing to be an integral and important part of the solution, by joining in the remaining struggle! I'm so grateful and proud of you my friend!

  • I watch this movie 3 times in a day love it so much emotion its just beautiful cried my eyes out.

  • Rewatched the movie so many times , and I still break into tears every single time . Society's opening up , but it's still hard for some people to accept GLBT , it'll still take time . Being gay doesn't change anything , a wonderful person will still be one , regardless of his or her sexuality . This film is amazing <3

  • Hello, I'm gay and the film is really sad marry reminds me of my mother only we can understand my mother never, if I should get married if she is dead then they will notice not the shit they said. sry my english is not great and do not know if the translator does what. greeting from Germany

  • i love you Sigourney

    great movie

  • I like"Prayers for bobby",I like this song

  • I have seen this movie 400 times, I know every word, I know what is going to happen next, and each and everytime I cry. I cry so much that I stop breathing!! I love Bobby!! <3 <3

  • @StacyNicks546

    Ciao Bello!

Stacy "Bello" that's really moving "400 Times" really? You'd laugh probably, when I tell you that Bobbys' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, was only able to bring himself to watch it for the first time about six months ago! I seriously thought that I was going to need someone to hold my hand through it, but it turned out that I was able to watch it by myself! I was touched of coarse, but not the "Breakdown" I had anticipated! I thought it well done!

    Blaine

  • i am gay and i am proud of that. my all family accepted me as I am. Thank you all for that.

people, there are so innocently young boys and girls, please, don't take the dreams away from them. They are really not guilty . I am not guilty. No one is guilty because of being gay or straight!

"remember, there are children like Bobby. they are listening your 'amen'. "

  • @byciegejem

    Ciao Adrian!

It's Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, wishing to tell you just how fricken proud of you I am! That you take "Pride" in exactly who and what you are makes me wanna shout......"Yeahhhhh"!!!!!!! That you describe a loving and accepting family who you praise, is yet another wonderful blessing!

  • His story was my story , we even had the same birthday except.......... I survived.

  • A great Film...i´ve cried like the heaven @ a november rain day.

I´m gay and my parents accept this. I ♥ my mom. And my dad is OK, too.

  • @LittleBaerchen92

You are so lucky to have such a family~and I admire every single one of homosexual for who be brave to admit it,because theres nothing need to be ashamed. Proud of you!!just be who u are^_^

  • i muslim in im gay i afriad my family cant accpted me as i'm,,im also afriad to do same as bobby do,,i cried see these movie,,

  • @MrAiken11 I am gay and from a muslim family. I told my family and just like Bobby's family, they refused to believe me. And, like Bobby, I tried to commit suicide but instead, ended up in the hospital. So, I then did the next best thing....I cut my family off. I am afraid of honor killings in the muslim community so I ran away. It has been a tough 11 years since then....but, at least, I get the chance to live my life the way I want to. My life is worth more than their blind ignorance.

  • @iben26 Your story makes me realise how lucky i am. You are a brave person and deserve happiness!

  • @iben26

    Salaam Alaikum!

My friend I just had to respond to what you've shared here, and yes absolutely your life is worth more than that!

As a boy myself I was Bobby Griffiths' lover/boyfriend, but I was far too young at the time, to fully comprehend the "Angst" from which he suffered! My Father was so good to the two of us when I brought Bobby home! He even allowed Bobby to sleep over on numerous occasions, when things were tough at his own home! May "Allah" bless you my friend!

    Blaine

  • Great movie...Feel so sad & sorry for BOBBEY **GOD BLESS HIM IN HIS HEAVEN**

    =Pray for Bobbey=

  • You Have no idea how much I personally appreciate your kind words of understanding. Your brother is lucky to have you.Cherish him for how God made him. It is not a mistake there is a reason in Gods plan.

  • @lilguydave

    Ciao Bello!

As one who loved Bobby Griffith personally, I appreciate your kind words and enlightened

attitude. I am most of all pleased to observe that what you've expressed is increasingly

    becoming the mainstream! Yeah!!!

    Grazie Mille Bello!

    Blaine

  • i lo0ve you leona!!

  • i just wAtched the movie..

  • It makes me cry :(

  • My brother told us that he is gay. He also wanted to kill himself, but he hadn't. And I'm so thankful. I love him the way is is.

People who don't accept such people should go to hell, because every human is equal!

  • I am a gay man and I can say that I understand how bobby felt. I don't have the support of my family and been on my own since I was 18 yrs old, but one thing I can say is that I know everything that he felt...it is sad how there is ignorance in this world. I don't ask for you to accept me but to respect my believes as I respect yours...

  • what a great song and film, i watched it last night, it was soo sad n i couldn't stop cryin.. :'(

  • @XDarkXPhoenix

    Know this my friends,

You are all beautiful and precious in the site of G-D, gay or straight!

I love and care about all of you because I believe myself to be my brothers'

and sisters' keeper. And yes, it so happens that my love for Christ and

his "Good News" does inform me in this! Why am I saying this?

Because, had I been able to articulate this to Bobby, when we were kids,

he could very well still be with us!

  • @XDarkXPhoenix

I understand that to many of you, this

tragic tale is fairly new, but the events it depicts happened over 27yrs ago!

So let us dry our teers and vow to help put an end to this!

    May G-D Bless You!

    Blaine

  • Perfect^^

  • this one sounds a little better than the one that was used in the movie.. but can someone tell me who sang that one?

  • I cried my eyes when I saw this movie. Being gay, I could relate to so much of it! Sigourney is utterly amazing in this!!

  • I just finished watching this movie, It's soo sad! ;-(

I almost cried. I'm gay, and I'm the only son but I can't never come out to my parents. I can't stand the idea of hurting them! I love my family.

But I can't change the way I am...

  • @damndumn

    Dear friend,

Things are changing so rapidly, including the rearing of children by

same sex parrents. When Bobby and I were young and out, we couldn't

even conceive of such a thing! Bobby had a brother, but I am an only child,

and always felt that sense of loss for not being able to father a child! Or so I

thought at the time.I pray that you will one day be able to lead an authentic life as a gay person and that your' parents will come to know the true you!

    Bless You,

    Blaine

  • m en kanta karajo!!!!!!!!!

  • @jovensilver

It warms my heart to read how touched people are by the tragedy

of Bobbys' story. I was 18 when we met, wildly attracted to him and

quickly developed a huge crush! Unfortunatly, my youth precluded

me from perceiving, let alone ever understanding, the damage and

anguish that he suffered Please take heart my friend, this did happen

almost 30yrs ago.The world that you could come out in is far different!

    Just don't remain silent

    Sincerely'

    Blaine

  • :((

  • this is by far the saddest movie I have ever seen.... but what's really sad is, that it is often reality.....

  • The most powerful movie I've ever seen.

  • I love this song such a nice song by Leona lewis :)

  • wow.... sin palabras

  • I watched this movie. I cried a lot too.

  • Thank you for posting n sharing. enjoy....linking ~ connecting ~~~

  • I just watched it...and I cried a lot too. A very well made movie, very moving.

  • My Brother is gay. I get scared that the same would happen to him because some family members don't accept him the way he is. His own father kicked him out of his home. I am Straight but I am Damn Proud To Say That I Support LGBT 100000% and more. Nothing can change that. I cried while watching this movie. It's hard to know that Bobby is no longer with us and that many Les.,Gays.Bis., Ect. are Not With us Today for the same reasons that bobby isnt.

  • @MrzGomezSupport

Nice post, you sound like a very loving compassionate sister!

Your' brother is blassed to have you as his sister. Just keep it up,

spread the word that all life is precious in the sight of G-D, that

no one should ever be dehumanized for loving whom they love!

By having this kind of support from you you brother will be better

able to love himself, which is essential to his well being! Poor

Bobby didn't stand a chance. I was far too young myself to be of

    any real help!

  • @MrzGomezSupport I love you dude. May God bless you!

  • @MrzGomezSupport

So happy to hear that you love and support your brother. Make sure he knows how much you love him and can rely on your unconditional help. I pray that you can be his rock and safe harbor. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a sibling of a "bobby". It would absolutely destroy my faith in life and create a heartache that I would never get over.

  • @MrzGomezSupport I am straight to and i have a big brother that is gay and i am proud of him but other family members are not but since taking to my big brother i feel more connected with him then before. and glad he never killed him self 3 years ago now i surport gay and lesbean rights in uk all my m8s are gay love them all

  • I really loved this movie. I suggest that everyone watch this movie if you'd like to know what a LGBT person goes through daily or atleast once in their lives.

  • the movie and the song really broke me down.

  • 4evr my fav movie it made me cry so much

  • this movie made me cry so much

my straight friend couldn't help himself from crying

  • I've seen this movie. Made me cry an ocean. =.(.....

  • Me too...
