Kremer could always pull music out of a stone. And his orchestra kremerata baltica is possibly the best i've seen, he's really made a lasting impression on the world.
I like his playing here. it isn't clean but honest and true!! True Musicians don't have to act like machines, especially not at the "night of the proms". Nice appearance by Kremer. Heard him live 2 years ago with Shostakovich No. 2, it was an unique experience!!

I am sorry to say, but I prefer Sayaka Shoji's. I don't know but Kremer's just doesn't pull you in as much, as it sounds as if it's being rushed, as in it should be more slow. I don't know how to put it...
I don't know why people are thumbing you down. You're entitled to your opinion, and its not a particularly idiotic one. So I thumbed you up- just thought you should know not all us internet folk are evil and judgmental.
I just found on the internet Jansons and Kremer played this concerto in 2004 with the Bavarian SO at the Proms. As this video takes place in the Royal Albert Hall, I think this was indeed that Prom Concert so this is the BRSO.
Do you have the others parts ?

She is a great young player but no where near Kremer - a true world class violinist.

it doesn't look like the oslo philharmonic. and as far as i know, jansons has not conducted the oslo phil since he left as chief conductor in 2002.

Well since Mariss has conducted the Oslo Phil for more than 20 years it seems more likely this is the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
