  • Where's the gallop? x3

  • the "run" is acttually a canter

  • it is amazing!!!!!! but it remembers me the leopard moves :)

  • I might add the 360 is a little fast, Whilst trying to focus on the leg movements the spin is causing dizziness.

  • Just so u know there are 4 gaits. Walk, trot, canter, and gallop

  • did anyone else notice that the ground moves but the background doesn't?

  • Ah, I wish I could view it in slo mo. :) The pictures blur together in the run cycle.

I have been looking for a video that shows the difference between the 3-beat canter and 4-beat gallop.

  • thats one jank mane!

  • i liked the walk movement but the ather two remind me more of a dog rather than a horse . . a horse has strong trot and gallop , a movement that makes you fall in love with not laught. . .

  • the walk is a bit stiff and the back legs jerck.

  • your horse needs hair loss products to be perfect

  • Love your animations! But the mane and tail looks a little bit crappy..

  • wow thats awsome!!!

  • what program is this

  • I would suggest shortening the horse's neck a bit, it looks abnormally long; but the withers look fine to me, my mother owned an appaloosa with high withers, he was a pain to ride bare back though.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like a fat guy went and sat on your horse. Poor thing.

  • omg this is amazing!!! :D

  • how much time it takes to render.......???? and do you rig that horse yourself !!!!! too beautiful LOoks real..............

  • Ha! It's muybridge!

  • Idk if the the neck it too long, but the withers are to high. A correct horse's wither should be as tall as the coup. And he's pretty swayed back...lol

  • very very nice. You have an PN

  • I like this camera shaking when horse speed up,awesome!

  • the neck looks weird, i think it should be shorter, i mean, it looks like a giraffe. i suggest you to change that part.

  • woah thisis well cool what software is it ??

  • Most horse games are made by people who don't, ride, work or know anything about horses. If you get someone with a true passion with horses to make a game..that game would win a grammy.

  • Are you ever going to make a horse game? Just wondering cause honestly your animation looks way better then these of many expensive games.

  • i though the animations were great! the only thing i might have worked on is the long hair on its neck. great job!

  • I luv the part that it was galloping! =D

  • it's amazing =) walk and canter are looking amazing =) but on the trot it looks as if it has a really long neck lol :P but I still like it ;) thumbs up =). x

  • horses dont walk like that left front foot back right foot, then right front foot left back foot! not left front left back etc

  • perhaps you can do horses for many games which are out now which are AWEFUL! I know how hard horses are to animate, my fave is the trot, the walk seems sluggish perhaps you are taking too long to make his back legs walk forward, although i do notice his rear legs are rather curved outwards. if that makes sense. overall well done!! I bet animating him made you pull out a few hairs ;)

  • Horses run more 'in a line' than what you have here. The feet are too far apart while he runs.

  • (Continued because of char limit) Keep up the hard work, you're already better than 75% of the animators I've seen on Youtube. You've got great talent! :)

  • Very lovely animations. Suggestions: For the walk, his back legs need to lift off the ground sooner. Because they stay planted so long, the motion becomes noticably jerky when they finally lift. Second: During the trot, his front legs extend too far on the backswing. Start bringing them forward slightly sooner and you'll see a marked improvement. Finally, I noticed that during the run cycle his back dips very low just behind the shoulders. This is probably due to the rig, but it looks unnatural.

  • @MoogieSRO Much thanks for the detailed critique. Only thing is, not sure about the comment about the back legs on the walk, that may be more to do with the extension of the legs than the timing (they are a bit too far back). Still, duly noted, as well as the other two points.

  • I've just looked at a few cantering and trotting horses (real ones) on this site- and there's no tail flapping up and down in the cycle.

Having said that, I'm still impressed.

  • The detail is very good and the mechanics are correct, but I think it looks a bit funny because the withers are so far up its neck. However, horses are difficult to get right.

  • @matrixmare Tell me about it. Thanks. :-)

  • @matrixmare It's kinda looks like it has ssway back.

  • nice and battered mane :) lol thats awesome

  • Move the shoulders a little more forward.

  • With your talents I would consider a 3D online horse game. You seem to have very good expierience with horse animation why not start programming?

  • you should make a Horse Game! bcz I would pay for it! XD

  • Brush the hair =P

  • LOOOks LIKE A FEIGHT TRAIN! JK JK BUT GOOD

  • he head need to move when its walking because thats how horses move. to help get the movments down you should go watch some hourses in action.

  • wow it has a REALLY long neck!!!!

  • I have to say, at an angle, the left back leg, is ( really ) big!! Anyways, really awsome animation!! I bet you would like making movies like, shrek for instants!!

  • when the horse was walking, the entire neck kinda looked like that of an giraffe

  • Brilliant! By the way, a horses run is called a gallop. Five stars!

  • you should do a flying lead change cycle!

  • the tail could use more hair and the gaits are a bit lumpy but i like it!

  • wonderful

  • wow this is really good!!!

  • which program did u duse for this animation?

  • ummm "run" is called gallop....

  • check this out /watch?v=yoZ8wt5ZydY

  • wow! ur amazing!!

  • nice but the mane and tail could move a bit better

  • its the animator,

  • It's so cool how you understand the horses movements and you are really close to get it perfect. You have done it better then most horse games thou ^^

  • AWESOME!!! it looks SOOOOOOO real!

  • Wonderful!

  • omg dizzy x.x awesome tho xD

  • its like its on a Treadmill :D

  • the horse looks a bit tall at the shoulder/ too big in the neck to me...nice motion though

  • It looks like the horse is shaking the screen while it's cantering! xD That is one tough horse.

  • other than the fact that the horse's back is really shallow, the canter should be rounded, and the muscle tone would never allow such exertion in a real horse, it would be too weak, that is AMAZING! do you have a special program or something?!?!?

  • Amazing animation! Just a tip from a biology standpoint: The horse's back doesn't bend when he moves. Usually their back is the move quiet part of their body. Otherwise, you're EXTREMELY talented and you should go to Hollywood! :D

  • this looks really cool! but, this is just an observatino do not take it personally, it looks as though the horse doesnt have a free head,.. *not meant to be rude* just an observation. i know how hard it was to make this ive tried it..... didnt turn out to well.... very good! =)

  • the walking is much better than the first video. great change between the two.

and the canter/loop thing said earlier? i think that was either just a very fast canter/loop, (what ever you want to call it) or a plain out gallop

totally jealous though. perfect animation! thanks for making these!

  • The move is canter not run

  • It's called Lope in Western.

  • I know how hard it is to do 3D animation, but observing the movements of horses for a long time, I feel that the movement is right, but there's not enough energy. Like, the movement of the horse is too stiff.

  • Trots the best! ^_^ You shoul do a jumping one

  • wow thats great O__o

  • hey that's excellent!!! :-D

  • Thanks, both! :-)

  • @AlphaBee6 How do you maake an animation?

  • Wow thats so cool! Good job!

  • VERY GOOD! It looks so accurate! 5 stars ^_^
