If u wanna c these in person (at least some of them) go check out 1 of the best air museum's in the country, called Castle Air Museum in Merced,Ca.Great place to get up close & personal with these bad boys! P.s. They even have a sweet Blackbird & a mint U2!
does anyone know of a converted seaplane, converted into a surveillance plane.I saw one in 02,it for sure look liked a converted seaplane. Each wing had large rectangular ridges encircling all around, they looked like an imaging device,&2/3rds of fuselage was fabric to compensate for xtra weight on wings,&for sure it also looked like they converted a seaplane cause of xtra strength needed on wings.it was appx. twice size of private leer jet & following a UFO contactee!
The aircraft at 1.47 is a Handley Page Victor, one of three British nuclear bombers of the 1950'/60's. It was eventually reconfigured as a tanker and continued in service until the 90's. A very capable aircraft
2:09 I think that it's a Convair XFY-1 experimental VTOL turboprop fighter. It took off and landed tail first which proved too tricky for service use. Fast at 610 mph.
The aircraft at 1:47 is a British Handley Page Victor. Originally a V bomber (along with the Avro Vulcan and Vickers Valiant) designed in the late 40's and 50's as one of the UK's nuclear bombers to attack the eastern bloc. They were later converted to three point tankers and used in the Falklands war (to refuel the Vulcan on the Black Buck bombing missions) and in the first Gulf war (to fuel any allied A/C with a probe). In early days the Victor was rolled and just managed to go supersonic.
gotta love that shot at 6:56 !
