  • I LOVE THIS! FABULOUS! She has the experience and the grit to sing it right.

  • You know she forgot all of her lines, right?

  • @Npapas417 So what?? She's still great!!!!

  • @Npapas417 Please, invite us your performance when you reach 84 when YOU are invited to the White House. You don't get improv at all

  • I think she was unprepared

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!

  • What makes this performance great is that it seems neither sung nor acted. I believe it is one of the best performances of all human history. Honest, heart-felt, and human.

  • Elaine Stritch is timeless. She has always been funny

  • I love that lady!

  • Does it get any better than this? ;-)

  • I want to be her when I grow up.

  • @mseula1 me too!

  • God. I just adore her. When she performed this for Sondheim's Birthday Concert, I just wanted to stand up and cheer when she'd finished. She just brings something else to this song that no one can compare to.

  • I can't take the smile off my face after watching this. No one like Stritch!! I just love how she inteprets and phrases the songs!!

  • Fabulous!

  • I just saw Elaine Paige sing this in Follies at the Kennedy Center, and she was amazing. But Stritch absolutely owns this song! Spectacular.

  • Yes were all still here! Go to hell, Mr. Camping!

  • Phenomenal, what more can I say? A legend of with a career most "stars" of today can only dream of.

  • I hereby nominate this woman for sainthood: Our Lady of Cantankerous Performance!

  • This is what "entertainer" means!

  • Elaine Stritch is definitely one of the great ones. He talent is overwhelming. She still is a stunningly beautiful woman at 86. In fact, she even looks better now than she looked in 71 when she taped The Ladies Who Lunch. I hope she will be with us for many many years.

  • This is one Great Old Broad who is a national treasure! So what if she may have muffed a few lines here or there--her stance and her passion make and prove the song. Let's see what YOU do at her age.

  • What a pistol. She was born on February 2, 1925 - makes her 86! She earned singing this song!

  • God Bless Elaine Stritch! The woman is a force of nature, and deserves all of the accolades and acclaim she can garner.

  • well that was a white knuckle ride, but I'm almost in tears with the emotion of it

  • That was a bit difficult for me to watch. It was clear that she didn't know all the words, not to mention the correct rhythm at times. However, she definitely redeemed herself at Sondheim's 80th birthday concert. THAT was amazing. This, not so much.

  • Finally at 80 - - a SUPERSTAR.. and so deserved.

  • And we're lucky she's still here!

  • can we just note that her legs are still phenomenal!

  • You Go Elaine! God Bless you, helluva woman you are!

  • An absolute American institution - a national treasure!

  • She is an absolute TREASURE

  • this is an amazing performance.

everyone in that room should be deeply honored

  • A-Flippin-mazing!!!!!!

  • tmac- Her performance had me in tears, too! I taped it and every time I watch it, I get emotional. She's just amazing. The whole 80th birthday show was amazing.

  • I just love her!

  • Elaine Strich is fabulous! She just did a performance for Steven Sondheim's 80th birthday show...Wow! What a dame.

  • @drjules900 Her performance of this song on the 80th Birthday show had me in tears. So poignant and touching. What a DAME!!!

  • Now that's how a true broadway star does it. She does the great Sondheim such justice when she belts it after all these yrs...shens still here.

  • The lady just thoroughly gives me chills of joy when she does this song. She has been through a lot and she IS still here!! God Bless her -- she IS A TRUE WINNER!!!

What a talent, what a total WOW!!!

  • what a gutsy and tough lady....I hope I am like her at 85!!!!!!

  • Love it!

  • What a dame and class act!

  • Nobody like Stritch! 84 years old! Still here!
