  • B-E-A-Utiful...!!

  • MY DIVAA

  • beauty

  • My first time listening to this beautiful song was with the voice of Yao Si Ting. Cannot comprehend the difference but I only know that my soul is healed a little bit. I love both versions. Like jasmines and dandelions.

  • I love this song! Thanks for uploading it!

  • beautifull music ! Very touching lyrics ! In one word : great fantastic song ! Like all her songs.

  • if you wanna try to start compare this with stuff like JB and Rihanna.... i don't now or you even need to start... after less than 10 seconds from this beautiful song... you should now enough...

  • epic album cover, beautiful atmosphere

  • epic album cover, beautiful atmosphere

  • this is a song of love

  • Seventeen people don't have heart (or brain).

It makes my cry the tears of happiness.

  • soooooooo beatiful.

  • skin sensation :D

  • Loreena is a gift from God for all of us to hear. I am thankful I found her music

    year's ago. Thank You

  • @MsSuggestions I know and Loreena she seems like a really good person based on her music and some of her journal entries that were included in her album Book of Secrets. While travelling across Europe, she met with a lot of people, and was thankful for all the unique experiences she got to share with them. Thoughtful and kindhearted.

  • Stunning in every way!!!!!!!!! THanks for sharing the mystery and the beauty with us!

  • the start of it gave me chills, then i wanted to cry for no damn reason......Just amazing....it also made me want to go run outside in slow motion :)

  • I love Wiccan music, it just makes me relax and go into a state of peace....I am Christian but also practice and feel Wiccan strongly, but will not deny Jesus, just not all the poof of organized religion...I am also a Spiritualist.....I practice more of Spiritualism...so what does that make me? I have also been practicing since in my teens, we grew up with it....we didn't have a name for it, we just did it and believed....Beautiful, relaxing, song.........

  • @greeneyes1373 She is singing about Skellig Michael, an early Gaelic Christian Monestary where the Gospels were scribed centuries ago, probably before the influence of Rome. When it was pure Celtic Christanity.

  • @LadyStonecut Hi, I have quite a collection of Loreena's songs here, her voice and songs calm me and I always listen while I am getting ready for school or work...When I got back to my roots, Spiritually, I just found that this kind of music fit right in....I also like Euryale..(SP) and Chalice and Blade and Eva Cassidy does covers but her covers are so enchanting...Enya is also good sometimes...thank you for the info.......

  • @greeneyes1373 You welcome. I feel the same. Loreena's music is a Sanctuary.

  • @greeneyes1373 (:^)))

  • Sometimes i listen to this and it makes me fall asleep..its wonderful and breath taking if you just close your eyes and listen..

  • I play this on my violin and cry

  • One word: awesome <3

  • @clarabells22 But that's more that awesome! :)

  • This is the most beautiful music in the world. Among other celtic music. It's just something magical about it that's just... it's beautiful <3

  • that woman...she could be my blond princess. :(

  • @ those 16 who disliked : where is your f...cking problem ?! ^^

  • In my entire life, I never heard something better than that ! Loreena McKennit and her music are not really from this world. When the day comes and I have to die, I want to hear this song during my funeral !

  • sad, death calls for round 10008 again

  • blackfeeling, thank you

  • I love her voice.... makes me feel i am deep into a misty place......

  • Solitaire and wisdom, so beautifully expressed. Thanks for uploading.

  • This song reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. I always picture him on his deathbed when I hear this.

  • Ohh! What a magical song! I love this song!

  • while i was in a rush i heard loreena and she made me calm. really calm!

    she's definetly irreplaceable!

  • I'm not religious at all but I do enjoy her music and she has a lovely voice ^_^

  • even pagans believe in An Awl or god by any other name. i prefer to call it The Meng and this is god music. beyond everything and everybody. Loreena will go down in history as the perfect example of mystic musical talent

  • I have grown up with Loreena and Enya, Enigma, etc.. Every time I listen to them, they reminds me of my childhood and all those years which just passed away... It doesn't matter if I'm only 17, but nowadays is hard to find a child of my age having the same musical preferences with me. I'm not old fashioned, but I take care of my soul, because this kind of music is feed for the soul. And I'm not jocking.

  • @anniescumpikTH remind*, sorry

  • @anniescumpikTH I'm the same. I'm only 18 and all I have on my ipod really is music like this and some other stuff.

  • @anniescumpikTH

thats true, you know. im a lot younger than you, but in my life ive been surrounded by loreena and enigma, and its hard now to find someone who even know who they ARE. in my school they play this sometimes, but everyone hates this music, bar me, and they say it sucks. but honestly, rap tand stuff thats out now just doesnt cut it. all they do is talk about sex and girls asses, and honsetly, thats retarded. love REAL music, not fake.

  • @shirosaki413 You're perfectly right. But, don't worry. Somewhere in the world are persons who appreciate the real music and i'm sure this will help you feel better. You don't have to be sad because they don't like this kind of music. Everything has an end, and trust me, theirs won't be a good one.

  • @anniescumpikTH Finally I met a fellow Romanian who shares my musical preferences. Să fi bine-cuvântată!

  • @EdwinMarc But this is more than amazing! Este chiar atat de greu sa gasesti pe cineva din Romania care mai asculta acest gen de muzica? Este foarte trist ce se intampla in tara, la momentul actual, din punct de vedere muzical...

  • @anniescumpikTH i'm 15 and i absolutely love Loreena! i keep thinking maybe i'm just wierd when i hear people talking about rihanna or justin beiber..... i'm just not in to that! i dont care anymore long live loreena!!

  • @dragonsinthekitchen U hear people talking about Rihanna or other singers because their music is commercial and mass media keeps putting their songs on repeat all the time ...

  • @anniescumpikTH I completely agree with you. I am 15 years old and thoufh I hear much Metal and also some of the 'ordinary' stuff, I think I couldn't live without this kind of music. It gives me some peace, when I things like schoolwork and everyday worries seem to consume me.

  • @anniescumpikTH ahh enigma.. Michael Cretu :) i love to... and enya and Era and loreena :) kiss from Greece

  • @pcstudios3 Greece from kiss

  • @pcstudios3 Greetings from Romania (^_^)

  • @anniescumpikTH I'm exactly the same as you... Enya is my childhood, Loreena reminds me of my mother and my childhood's house... When I listen to them, I feel so nostalgic.... And of course I feel better. :))

  • @anniescumpikTH Well I'm 16 and I agree with you :)

  • @aerthemiss Oh, but that's great!

  • @anniescumpikTH Well, looks like there's someone out there like me. I'm 18 and feel the same way as you do! :)

  • @YaseenNoorani Good to hear that. Now I'm 18 too ^_^.

  • @anniescumpikTH

18, and loving Loreena McKennit's music as well :p

  • @anniescumpikTH

Even though I'm originally from the Carribean, for some reason my mother loves Celtic music and New Age.. and just everything similar. I grew up with Loreena McKennitt in my house and every time I hear a song from her, not only do I remember my childhood, I also remember how every single song goes.

  • @zahraljmusic I know how you feel and that's why I'm saying that their music is more that awesome.

  • This gives me an explosion of nostalgia. It's just too much for me :'(

  • Listening to this before reading Skellig by David Almond.

  • Lorenna Own!

  • Science cannot speak on the supernatural...

    Another good song.

  • wow, 16 dislikes...I bet they all just bought Justin Bieber's new album

  • A wonderful tribute to the monks of Skellig and the saviors of western literature. To the haunting memory of the monks of Ireland.

  • @TheLueii

Yep, they transferred the ancient books to current works mostly intact...

Great song and a great voice...

  • listen Estatic Fear- Chapter I, very similar song

  • I will name my first born child Skellig. I love this song that much.

  • Oh god, 16 jocks actually took the time to come here.

  • This song is the good itself 0.0

  • This song always gives me goosebumps.

  • amazing what this music makes you feel, how it touches your soul. even more amazing is how brilliant she is to have created it!

  • I really hope that this kind of music never dies, couse if it dies, ill die with it.

  • i love this track. thanks for uploading!!!

  • Touches something inside, doesn't it? Very difficult to do, can't be contrived. This is Loreena's genius.

  • i have no words to describe how i feel while im listening to this song..

  • The crisp morning wind readies the light rain, and the clouds roll past the highland. The moisture softens the ground, and the sun morn's it's own absence. Evergreen and stream flow together through the valley, while the ocean gently brushes the brown sands.

  • ¿quien rayoz es Lorenna?

    ¿eh? *-* : [ + (

  • Whenever I hear this song always makes me cry. This is so beautifully sung and played. Loreena has a gift that you rarely find. Beautiful music from the heart. It does not happen often that perfect music contains so much emotion.

  • Pure and ethereal.....the true beauty of music that touches the soul...

  • Skellig i realise with rock on the Ocean ,on West coast of Ireland ,there is very old heritage ,also monks cementery from 6th centuary, i`ve been there 4 yrs ago , one of the best views in Ireland for me. See "micheal skellig" on the web

  • blessed be )O( when ever i seet up my alter i put this album on

  • The kind of music that gives you chills....but good chills :) beautiful!

  • Sixteen people hit the wrong button by accident' don't worry, I'll let them know they did it wrong.

  • This choice is hard. And that sort of freedom is heavy. At least for me...

But this Loreena's song is light and clean.

  • It was a little monastery on the deserted Skellig Islands . Funny thing: in Russian "skala" means the rock. I wonder if Skellig means something like "rocky' in some old Irish. At least those stones amidst the ocean look like that..

  • @Madved07 Yes..... 'Sceilig' = Rock, Skellig Michael is also knon as Sceilig Mor,[ Big Skellig,] .. the history of this magical place is up on the dreaded ....Wikipedia....

  • @malachy1847 Thanks. May be it's just a coincidence. may be some ancient roots of languages

  • @Madved07 Back into the mists of time there may have been a commonality in some words between the what we now call Slavic and Celtic what with their roots of same being from the ancient indo-european....anyhow There's is only one Race and That's on this blue Planet.....that's...............THE HUMAN RACE

  • @malachy1847 you talk as if you ar at the meeting.

When I studied in scool I learnt there is 3 races on the earth. Then I knew about language families and genetic statistics/

not equal, we are all different. Sometimes it doesn't matter, but... Now we don't know what to do wit that. Just the french revolution impuls in the end. There should be found boundaries for absolute. If not this thing (equality in this case) will get us to death/ Where we don't want . just need to have new Voltaire ;)

  • @Madved07 the only teaching i recieved worth a curse..... was from my parents who taught me we were all from the one tribe the same gene pool.. that of..... 'the human race' and had a shared .... common humanity That race being The Humanrace....

  • @malachy1847 But well dont wanna be misunderstood: the difference is not in genes but in mind, culture and may be religions (this 2 last is a part of 1)

  • @Madved07 Far from wanting to lecture anyone or.......... 'talk as if im at a meeting'...... my previous comments were just general very in nature looking back to your comment and were just surmising that maybe there could indeed be some loose but common thread... between languages and cultures in past centuries ... [such as Slavic and Celtic peoples]

  • What a pure !

  • 16 people probably are deaf...this is a masterpiece!

  • Comment removed

  • @shiny1991 not true! my deaf cousin read the lyrics and wept.... 16 people have no SOUL! indeed a masterpiece!

  • Nothing better than this song.

  • Nothing better than this song

  • I've got this album. A little jewel. Thank you Loreena.

  • know it from Finding Kate movie I guess...

  • I wonder if she is a channel? Her songs are of lives lived long ago. : )

  • @1979mooncat

According to recent publications, Loreena researches locations and ancient stories for her songs.

  • a mentor's last words to his apprentice, i love this song, it is so beautiful

  • This music just makes you stop everything and live a better life. It really satisfies something deep within you that isn't usually remembered about.

  • @pianissimo5 Well said..

  • @pianissimo5 Pretty true :) This is the music I listen to when reading books..

I also listen to Enigma,E NOMINE and some Adiemus while reading

    Apart from that rock/metal...

Loreena Mckennitt is a great singer, and a great peace bringer, into the souls of humans...

    AVE LOREENA!!

  • @pianissimo5 that's exactly how i feel.

  • @pianissimo5 yeah

  • what 16 idiots didnt like this gift from God himself, ?

  • @ahitler1000 Dear those 16 people. I apologise for the opinion of this narrowsighted individual. There is no actual "God". The gift is from the woman that worked hard to produce this music for us all to listen to. As a scientist who enjoys this music, although you may not have enjoyed this song, don't let the minority high horse religious zealots lump you into some fictional class of a lower being. Enjoy the music, and ignore any fictional association with any religion. Your opinion is yours.

  • @Hauk2004 - thanks, I loathe the endlesly copied comment of counting the ratings as if other people can't see. Who cares or needs reminding, especially in the presence of great, uplifting music.

However, purely from personal experience, without involvement with religions of any sort, I believe God exists.

Science cannot disprove my experience and I cannot prove it. We must speak for ourselves on some matters and agree to differ and respect our freedom to do so publicly here in the West :-)

  • @IdaSputum agreed. God exists not solely in the human's brain, but in things outside our self-centered lives. When we touch on those things outside ourselves, that is when we experience God.

  • @pianissimo5 - thank you

  • @IdaSputum Khmmm, but could we do so here in the East?

It would be funny if scientist someday finally proove existance of God. And I would think about it in plural.

It would become as easy and natural to believe in God as brushing your teeth . Anybody remember the name of those dutch researcher who tought all the humanity of cleaning teeth?

    ;)

So now we can the choice and it's a freedom . True knowledge will steal this freedom.

  • @Madved07 It is totally impossible for science to prove the existence of a spiritual being...

  • @zeldabob888 Yes it look totally impossible. But you know from history it doesn't matter.

So any buuttons we can press it doesn't matter.

Just beautiful song flased those old stones amidst the ocean. Of 6th century? so it was so long ago!

    Thanks Loreena.

  • @IdaSputum

    You are a believer. :)

    watch?v=zzcVu-CpzXQ

    Do good deeds.

    Peace and blessings.

  • @IdaSputum you are officially the BEST religious person ive ever met, you actually accept that you can not prove gods existence, and you dont tell people they should be religious too, id hug you but thats kinda gay and im not gay so im not gonna do that, even through chat, well i just have to say thanks for making my day

(im not religious, though i dont deny religion, i simply choose not to follow a path another human created in "the words of god")

  • @DaBurntToaster Thanks DaBurnt, neither do I.

  • @IdaSputum no, God exists because science can't explain how Loreena sings this good

  • @mimeywimey absolutely perfectly put.

  • this album puts me to sleep every night. i love it.

• AWESOME !

  • Absolute Bliss. Her voice is so enchanting and beautiful.

Still, I wonder what skellig means.

  • @SpringSkies

Skellig may refer to: * Skellig, 1998 children's novel by David Almond * Skellig (film), 2009 TV movie based on the novel * Skellig Islands, Kerry, Ireland; site of monastic settlement

    Source Vikipedia

  • @Adamus70 Thanks! :) I read the book Skellig and watched the movie, but her song might be referring to all of the things that you just mentioned because her song seems to match the theme of the book/movie nicely, and she could be referring to the islands in Ireland. Also, I just found out that Skellig means "splinter of stone."

  • +1000

  • Amazing

  • beautiful song

  • just love this!

  • An amazingggggggggggggggggggg songggggggggg............so lovely and thrilling...

  • I heard this song while playing a game called Civilization IV while listening to Boudica's theme. They both are the same song except for the singing part.

  • @Civfan26 damn, just found out that a video called What Did Civilization 4 Leaders Look Like (Part 1) just tricked me of thinking this is the song. Great song though.

  • very buteful song
