I didn't say they didn't participate in religious activities. I am an atheist and I participate in religious activities, too. Christmas, Eastern, etc. Also local religious fests like Mid-Summer.
Atheism does not imply inactivity from religious activities.
Christmas and Eastern aren't even particularly religious, in the sense that they are just ancient festivals stolen and transformed into Christian tradition to ease the process of conversion. I say we had it first.
Of course they are religious, they are in every aspect.
These ancient festivals were also part of mythology and religion, just not Christianity. It doesn't matter which religion - my point was about irreligious Japanese having Christmas, Eastern or any other religious festival/tradition from any religion.

Japanese arent 80% athiest, they just dont have a particular church. Thus when asked what religion they have they cant give a specific answer. But that doesnt meant they dont participate in religious activities.
Discrimination isent bad for religion, if anything it helps it. It makes people have more confidance in their beliefs and gives them great self-confidance, self-esteem and self honor.

I didn't say they didn't participate in religious activities. I am an atheist and I participate in religious activities, too. Christmas, Eastern, etc. Also local religious fests like Mid-Summer.
Atheism does not imply inactivity from religious activities.

No but the fact is that most Japanese people do believe in atleast sometype of supernatural thing (god, ghosts, destiny, whatever), unlike athiests.

Christmas and Eastern aren't even particularly religious, in the sense that they are just ancient festivals stolen and transformed into Christian tradition to ease the process of conversion. I say we had it first.

These ancient festivals were also part of mythology and religion, just not Christianity. It doesn't matter which religion - my point was about irreligious Japanese having Christmas, Eastern or any other religious festival/tradition from any religion.

No they started out as seasonal festivals, there is no way to determine if the first time the event was held was due to paganism or not.

I'm atheist, but what are you? I have read the bible fully, and have been christian for several years, PURELY, none of what your trying to show. And I have had visions, blessings, the whole shabang. I have been christian, purely, I'm 14 yet have written many un-published books with a type-writer on philosophys, and my beliefs in existence. I believe I have come up with, enough of my reasons to decide on what faith I have. In this life, nothing is impossible, however, what is most probable. I'll take my chances with. Until I am convinced.
