With every older song it going to be someone who feels that it is better than the current music. With the '80s and 90's I'm pretty sure the generation before the people who were listening to the Tevin Campbells and the Hi Fives felt that it was loose. No generation of music is free from criticism and the '90s had plenty of crap like evry other generations. I don't even believe that it is totally about the music; I think it is more of what the music reminds people of.
