This bike was also raced in the 1978 Castrol 6 Hour. The bike was owned by Malcolm Bailey of Moreparts Motorcycle Wreckers in Newcastle NSW, and was prepared, as far as I can recall, by Neil Cummins of Moreparts.
At the start of the '78 6 Hour Mike was last or almost last, to get away from the grid as the bike had to be kick started and it was being a bit of a pig. By the time of the Duke's first pit stop Mike was leading, or very close to leading, the 750 class.
