HX9v vs TZ20 audio / microphone test under loud volume

My advice, shoot video with these nice camera, but audio is shit with any of them, so since there is no mic input (at least on the Sony), use a separate audio recording device that are made to handle these high pressure sounds

I have a Zoom Q3HD, the video quality is crap, there is no focus at all, well, it's webcam quality. The audio is great

that sound is awful, way over level and seriously clipped, bad enough to damage your hi-fi loudspeakers on high playback. I'd be interested to know if there's a manual gain control, that would clean things up

The TZ20 is terrible for at the front of a festival show - audio is unlistenable whenever there is a lot of bass - I'm really PISSED with panasonic that my 'upgraded' camera is far worse than my older cheaper model

The TZ6 is MUCH better - it sonly disadvantage was the horizontal lines you get with light glare but it was also MUCH better in low light

do you know the Canon SX 230 SH also?

somebody gave me the tz20 recently, and I like festivals, but the audio doens't seem as good as the Sony here. And in general Canon has great audio on the camera's
