Can you believe they want $125 on ebay for a damb scoop?? The only thing I see is instead of mesh use smaller scaled screen. What you have may cause you to loose some goodies! Thanks for sharing!

Well done, expert craftmanship and it should work great! A tip: you can go to Goodwill or Salvation Army and usually find crutches for around 5-10 Dollars. I use an 8" round PVC with and "end cap" on one end drilled with 1/2" holes, then bolt (2) two pieces of tubing for the handles, slightly spreading them where they join the basket. Great job again!

Nice I reckon that's the best homemade scoop I've ever seen. It sure helps to have all the right tools and the skills! Well done. You should make a few and sell it on ebay :) 'Might cost a bit in crutches though :o)

neat--bet it's fine for dry sand------I make my own water scoops out of aluminum sheeting and wood for handle mount and handle------and I also made one water scoop from a stainless steel waste basket and wood for hondle mount and handle---that one is my favorite because it really cuts into sand and mud with ease like a knife
