  • Why are people saying the new are rubbish. They all have the same 2.5 boxer engine which all that really matters am i right? Of course unless you have a 22b or 2.0 gt. Either way i have an 07 2.5i and i couldnt be happier because i love the boxer engine. Who really cares how many pipes come out the back its the boxer sound were worried about.

  • Thanks for the comments! I made this exhaust shortly after we bought the car in Dec. 2007 since no one had released anything to the public yet. It did the job and made the Subie sound amazing. We just recently got the car upgraded and protuned. The STi now sports P&L Motorsport's quad tip exhaust. Amazing. Check out the new videos!

  • No shit sherlock. But there is a huge difference between "Tuning" your car and "Ricing" it out. Rice Burner is a term used for cars from Japan...Honda, Toyota, Subaru ect. But its the shmucks that put a Nos racing sticker and a coffee can exhaust on their 98 toyota corolla and think they are "fast and furious" that get the lable "ricer". Do you follow??????? Granted this guy droped the dime on the STi. Thats around 35K..he should have spent the extra loot on the Harman Motive or Borla system.

  • Ricer Brner is a tem used for any car that has add-on to the car without functions (big wing, bodykit, stickers, spinners, hood scoop, neon lights, etc). ANY CAR you moron.

  • The angle is consider JDM for those that don't know shit about performance. The exhaust is not bought off ebay or sumfin, instead, it is a customized exhaust system.

  • the diffuser of the sti isnt designed for an angled muffler installation; its suppose to be dead straight. i also said it LOOKs like he bought it off ebay cause it looks sooo fukin cheap lol it doesnt even look like stainless steel. u should know about the car's characteristics before u blabber about JDM, ive been to japan and not all are angled like u said.

But for performance, single outlet it the best, unless you are the owner of the twin turbo sti being worked on by xs engineering. cuz thats "true" dual.

  • I dont see what the fuss is all about, everyone does their own thing based on what they can afford, and what they like within that price range. I love STI's, I think they all sound good for different aspects , my favorite A/M exhaust is by COBB TUNING. sounds angry as hell. and yeah, it is a ricer, its a japanese car. nothing wrong with it, its a badass machine. and actually, for those who dont know, to have the muffler cocked at an angle like that, helps velocity of exhaust flow. peace

    IMO the exhaust pointing out of the side spoils it, I really don't see why people don't put them facing directy outwards.

  • tis, the velocity of the exhaust gas coming out of the pipes is actually improved in the higher rpm range, when the pipe is angled like this. headers are another area where the angles are very important but anyways.

    basicly the reason why the WRX sounds so nice is cause the boxer engine is horizontali opposed therefore the length of the extractors for each side are different which is it sounds like BOOm boom BOom boom left right left right . it only makes this noise when u modify the extractors.

    supercars dont need to cause it is already loud stock and prob has nice stock set up with less restrictions compared to the commercial cars.

  • If that exhaust were angled any more it would be a side exit. Personally, I would have drilled a hole in the diffuser and made a dual center exhaust, but that's just me.

  • Actualy I just noticed how you only got exit for 1 muffler. Isn't the 08 STI supposed to have exits for 2 mufflers? Maybe Australian version will be diferent Since it will be produced with 4 tailpipes 2 on each side. Cheers mate.

  • The camera is a Canon PowerShot TX1. The resolution of the video on youtube was reduced from 1280x720 to 320x180 for faster loading. I didn't touch sound quality. It's a great flash based point and shot with high resolution video options.

  • I dont like the original exhaust. This one looks much better and I quess it's much lighter too

  • Trust me, I'm didn't do this to look great. The intent was to make something that is simple with less bends, restriction, and weight. This is what we came up with. It sounds great and flows very well. The muffler position was the best we can do with the angle and the very limited space we had to work with. The muffler is small but barely fits in there. This was meant for track use and rather than show. At a fractional price, this exhaust is ideal for me and my intended use; form, fit, function.
