  • I bought a pair of VS Athletics shoes and have worn them for every weightlifting session for the past 4 years and they are still holding up strong. Been doing snatches, clean and jerks, squats, even power jumps onto boxes with these shoes. Would highly recommend them.

  • @TheSpanishNut: I'd have to disagree with you. While the shoes may not benefit this particular lift, I believe it's an excellent exercise. It engages the spinal erectors, glutes, hamstrings, and gastrocnemius. Everyone of those muscles are essential from the approach down to the jumps themselves. However, I do agree that olympic lifts are essential in a training regimen for an explosive athlete, such as Kenta Bell.

  • I don't think I've ever seen weightlifting shoes used in this manner before. And this particular exercise doesn't seem that it would be very helpful for a triple jumper. He's better off doing full squats, power cleans and lunges with a bar overhead, imo.
